I am running a Milestone X2 and up until recently have had no wifi on any custom rom. Since the new soak test Eclipse v2.2 uses the new /418 kernal and now wifi works. Is it possible to take this and move it to MIUI?
No & miui update is stalled big time.
skwoodwiva, thank you for such an easy answer. I love MIUI it is my favorate ROM, but I would like wifi to work .
eclipse mms?
What's up people, quick question about the eclipse2.2 on milestone x2. However first allow me to respect XDA community, I've been though alot in the background with you guys. Then respect to Nitro for eclipse, it's amazing! My question is about the mms on the 2.2, will there be an update to fix it or is it a sacrafice I'm gonna have to eat? This is the first Rom I have 'noobly' been able to use and if I have to give up sending pics or long messages I'll do it before I go back to slow, laggy stock. I did read that it wouldn't work but then I read people's replies that they have no problems. I could've done something off with the install but everything else works perfectly. Thanks to anyone with feedback or help, it's truly appreciated!
Yes, unfortunately MMS will not work if you are not with Verizon. Nitro uses Verizon's basebase information and strips other stuff so that data can work. This does not work for me so I have no idea how to actually make it work. I have nTelos Wireless which is a small carrier based out of VA and my MMS does not work.
I hope this helps.
I am also on NTelos in Norfolk,VA, so no hope for us huh? Well that blows. I've had so many stressful nights thinking I've lost my phone doing all this flashing so I'm trying to be content, but I've read so many posts and you guys always get me out of whatever grave I dig. I think now that I have the sbf process down I might try for CM7 or miui tonight. Thanks for the confirmation twobrare, I've read allot of your posts too so I def believe you.

Ok, I too have ntelos in lynchburg, luckily there was a guy in a phone store that hooked me up for 10$then I still had to use gosmspro for the pix to send properly. He told me he spent months to find what he found online, but he found it...online. he also password protected it so when I transferred the custom app that I bought off him it won't install when I put it back on the SD card. Through my backups that I moved from my computer was the only way to get it to work TB will no longer back up and restore the app. Any sugestionsto get the mms working would be great. Or if someone could tell me how to pull the info off of a phone I still have my desirefrom ntelos. I would post here if I found a fix...thanx.

I found an easier solution for the mms fix, and it's really easy if your on the evo 4g. Download the reloaded.44 magnum ROM somehow it has the right apks or something to get the mms to work right off the bat you don't need to do anything else. But if your like me, you still flash. So, download 4 shared on the market (free) search for, apn manager ,download to phone, go into apn manager and hurt the backup button, it creates a file on your sd card and saves it there, flash another ROM you like, again ,4shared, apn manager, open apn manager hit the restore button only, done. Works every time for me, good luck.

Here is the AT&T visual voicemail app.. When searching th play store, it says this is not compatible. It said that with the original HOX also, but works absolutley perfect. No need for that horrible ATT Messages app. This works much much better. Make sure "unknown sources" in security is checked. Copy to SD card and browse with file explorer and install. Of course you can use ADB to push it also. My favorite must have program on my PC for working with files and apps from the phone is android commander. If you dont have it, get it. . www.androidcommander.com Again If you dont have it, it is a 100% must have, get it. Here is the voicemail app, or just click below.
Edit: For some people you must have Visual Voice Mail provisions on your account. If this doesn't work, you have to call ATT and tell them to activate visual voicemail. Say you just installed it and its not working. No need to say anything about how you got it, that doesnt matter. Just say play store. They have no way of knowing that it shows not compatible in play store. It took me a couple of calls to get it added but they did eventually get it. if anyone has any problems, Here is another thread talking about this app but for the OG HOX.
Worked great, thank you!

I installed the AT&T visual voicemail app on my stock ROM and it worked fine.
I then installed the Elegancia ROM and now can't seem to get visual voicemail to work at all. It just hangs at the password screen. I've tried resetting my password, re-installing the app, re-installing the AT&T address book app and syncml apks (the AT&T website says visual VM app won't work without this) and I also called AT&T to make sure visual voicemail was active on my account.
Any ideas how I can get this working again?
Thanks in advance.

No, I am still having issues. I was on the phone with AT&T and they tried a bunch of stuff. It was working fine until I installed the ROM. I think it may be due to the APN changes that were made to enable native WiFi tethering but I'm not sure.
Either way, I decided to just switch my voicemail to google voice instead. I think it'll be better in the long run. Apparently with AOSP/CM ROMs, voicemails from google voice can be integrated into the stock dialer - like on an iPhone.
Thanks for providing the apk. Is it still required to manually install it? I was able to install it from the Market and I'm currently on the Elegancia ROM, so not even stock ROM. AT&T also claims it's supported on our devices:
http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB414957#fbid=17ybI57IF1g
However, I had to call to have them activate VVM on my account.
Any way to make this work on Straight Talk? I know the iPhone's get vvm to work on ST. I installed it but the app would not setup or get the details it needs after I dialed the voicemail number.

It doesn't appear in the Android market for some of us (read "Me"). I'm running DN3 ROM on a AT&T Note 2.
I appreciate the link.
Newer version?
This version of the download is 2.1.300 it doesn't work with Nexus 5 4.4.4. I wounded if anyone has Att visual voicemail 2.7.2.1? Please share the apk if you do. Thanks.
Recent HTC phones include a special version of AT&T Visual voicemail. As a result it's no long possible to download and install the standard vvm app from the play store. I've installed ARHD and would like to figure out how to get AT&T visual voicemail on this particular rom.
I've tried extracting the visual voicemail apk from my stock nandroid, but can't get it to work. I've installed it but the app doesn't appear with my other apps.
I would very much appreciate any suggestions concerning a fix or workaround to this problem.
Its not going to work, different frameworks for euro than att...visual voicemail for att build is supposed to be specially built for it...

Its not a simple flashable fix....can I ask why you flashed an international rom? Dont like bloatware(notlike anyone does)? Heard about carrieriq? Wanted international icons?....Check your p.m.'s.....

I flashed this rom for 2 reasons, I hate most of the bloatware/carrieriq and I loved mike's work from my m7 so I naturally wanted to continue using arhd on my m8. I'll check my pm's now.
Ok was just curious...this one I fixed is tailored to AT&T ,has signal icons for AT&T, no carrieriq only part thats bloatware imo as I dont use it is visual voicemail...lol..but it does work as it is supposed to.... So you let me know..lol
Uhmm I need this too please
Hey folks
A buddy at work is looking for an email application that can handle both gmail and exchange (office365) and has the ability to turn off (at least) the notifications, but for just 1 of the two accounts, say after 5pm. Strange request, I know. If anyone knows of such an app please do let me know. Thanks a ton!!

Hey Patch,
I wanna start by thanking you a ton for your ROMS! I run your BeanStalk on my OG note and have not changed since.. I've read a lot about other ROMS but I'm so happy with my phone's performance that I just don't wanna venture into other roms. Again, thank you for making our devices stay relevant and updated!
As for the APP.. my girlfriend has an S4, and the stock Samsung email app seems to work within the parameters of your request: it runs both gmail and exchange (although Gmail isn't pushed, only pulled at a max frequency of every 15 minutes) and you can turn notifications of each individual account at will (IDK if it can be done automatically, but I could look into if you'd like).
Would this app work for your friend you think? If so, it could just be installed as an .apk and then run as system app.... couldn't it?
If you by any chance need the app to be uploaded, let me know, I'll gladly do it!

ohhhhhh, for some reason I figured it was someone running a custom ROM, LOL.
I guess I should never assume.
On the playstore I stumbled upon this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trtf.blue
Haven't really really tried it 'cause all the accounts I use are either gmail or google apps for business, so I just use the stock gmail app.
The description seems to match everything you state is required, so I hope it helps!
Try k9. I use to use it back in the day.

Looking for assistance rooting a Sonim XP6 (on AT&T) running 4.4.2 with a MSM8926 chipset. It's a cool rugged little candybar phone with an actual numeric keypad! Don't see many of these around...
Have tried all the typical rooting avenues around no such luck. I'm able to get into recovery and fastboot mode and that's about it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...the phone has only been out for a few weeks so if there is any information I can provide to help breaking this device i'm all for it.

I just rooted mine with towelroot. Worked great! After running towelroot, I then installed supersu, rebooted, and then installed the binaries in supersu, installed xposed framework and gravity box and now I like this phone lol
Keeps saying device is not supported. This is hard coming from a nexus 6 to this. Lol

No. I seriously doubt any developer would spend any time on this phone at all. It is nice being rooted cause it has allowed me to freeze or delete a bunch of stuff using TiB.
Kingroot is work, i did it.
Wifi Tethering working
For the 2 or 3 people using this phone I did figure out how to make the hotspot work. Once rooted download root explorer. Go to /system and enable read/write - should get a superuser request. Long press on build.prop and then open with the text editor. Scroll down to #system prop for Service Entitlement. Change att.service.entitlement=true to false. At the very end add net.tethering.noprovisioning=true. Save, verify the changes took effect, then reboot and enjoy. This worked for me, I don't know if it will work for you but give it a try.
It makes the perfect portable wifi hotspot that can be used almost anywhere in any kind of weather. The 4 Ah battery is nice too.
Wifi tethering enabled
Just wanted to say thanks.
I used your tip to get my hotspot working on XP5700 with kingroot and a Bluetooth mouse.
By the way if anyone needs it, to enable adb on XP5 :
*#*#2387#*#*
That will open developer menu. Check USB debugging enabled
You can install apks over adb just fine. This is how I got kingroot.
Thanks again for the build.prop edits.

The XP5 - you mean the neutered androidish brick of a phone from Sonim? I have one of those too and as soon as I find it I'm going to give this a try. This along with the build.prop hack takes something that is useless and makes it into something very useful. I know the XP6 will run the hotspot for several hours on a charge, I'm sure the XP5 would even be better - coupled with the $60 Cricket unlimited plan would be amazing.
That it is... I like it though

Kinda limited on apps due to the lack of touchscreen.
What editor did you use to edit the build.prop?
nevermind, i was able to sideload rootexplorer and edited the build.prop without issue. I appreciate your discovery of how to get into developer options.
