I don't k ow if it's a bug or just happened with me but the screen won't stay on after MM update any solution about this please

My G Watch W100 works fine. Do you have "screen always on" enabled in either watch or Android Wear app? Using any app that controls brightness?

Try to change brightness to 4 and see if it works. After you can set again at your prefered value. it seem that a low value stop the always ON sometime

[Q] Stop the wake-up gesture

Hi guys. I wonder if there is an option to stop the wake-up movement recognition. In the night I am flash by my watch lol. Any ideas?

That won't help with the gesture activation.

I'm assuming he/she meant mute / DND the watch by pulling down from the 'home screen'. If so, yes. It will help with the gesture activation.
When I do it, the screen doesn't light up when at 45º.
Like so: link
Thank you for the solution but I use the watch to wake me up by vibration at the morning. So mute it not help me . It would be better if we have an option in the firmware to switch on or off the movement wrist detection.
I have the opposite problem, I can't get my lg watch to wake up by moving it, I've tried different movements and nothing, the screen is set to be always on but the only way to wake it up from its dimmed state is to tap the screen.

If really nothing works and the watch is not muted you probably have a defect. Especially if this was the case from the moment on when you got it. Request a replacement from where you bought it.

Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.procoit.wearmylauncher and activate the shower mode. It still vibrates but the screen is dimmed and won't turn on if you accidently touch it or move your wrist.
Godd idea, i will try.

(Q) Display "always on" vs "auto off" schedule

Has anyone looked into a way to schedule the display on/off? Maybe with tasker?
For example: during the day I'd like to have display always-on with a brightness level 1 or 2...but at night, I'd like it to auto-off.

Funny that you brought this up. I would be nice if Android Wear could have option to disable the screen and bluetooth during night to minimize battery drain and maybe give the watch an extra day runtime!
I'm also wondering this. Both my phone and watch are rooted. Is there any way I can schedule Always-on Screen: On during the day and switch it to Off in the evening?
I think that lot of people would like to have this feature.
You can try to use a watch face displaying black screen, but this is not the perfect solution.

Privacy mode for messages

Is there currently a way to set the watch to NOT turn the screen on when I get a notification?
Doesn't "muting" the watch do that?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Yeah it does, but I think he wants it to show up normally when you activate the watch. I wouldn't mind that
Yeah. I'd like to receive the notification without the screen turning on. Just a vibration.
I would totally love this as a mod. I'd pay for it too. Just vibrate when it comes and let me double tap to wake it when I'm ready. That way strangers can't see it

Have you played with Facer at all? You can tell Facer not to display notification cards at all. I haven't played with that, so I don't know if it still vibrates (assume so).
and if you blocks msg app
and using only wear mesenger app?
i think it should work
This is a standard setting on android wear on your phone. My G watch only vibrates when i get notifications and dont light up until i look at it or touch it.
Under android wear you can also select which apps notifications to block from going to your phone.
My phone screen doesn't turn on when I get a notification, it only powers on if I touch it.
In fact I would like it to turn on automatically if a notification arrives, what you don't want lol.
Any idea how to make the screen turn on when notifications appear? It used to before I updated to 5.0

Night clock / screen burn-in / developer options

Hi
I have several questions :
1. I already experienced that the night clock doesn't appear instantly when you put the watch onto the charger. Sometimes it takes a time till it appears.
2. What about screen burn from the night clock? I read about it in the forum for the first gen moto 360. Is it still a issue with the 2nd Gen 360?
3. There are wear developer options in the developer options. And there is the option "burn-in protection" (I hope it's called that way in English, I've got it on German) but it won't activate even after reboot as it tells me to do.

I disable the night clock by turning on theater mode (double click the side button). But I do this because it seems to fix the heart rate monitor from tracking the apparent 100BPM of the charger lol.
I use the Slumber app that automatically turns the screen off as soon as you place the watch on the charger.
I don't think there will be any burn in issue, since Moto360v2 have LCD screen. Burn-in have place on OLED screens only (Huawei Watch for example) since they have organic diods which degrade over time. LCD don't have this issue at all because they have one backlit light for all pixels and 'rotating' pixels. With LCD screens nothing is affected by the picture on the screen (technically). With OLED screens each pixel emits light on its own, therefore degradation of pixels is dependant on the picture on the screen (whether this particular pixel emits the light most time or not) = burn in.
Therefore night mode on Moto360 can be used safely for as long as you wish.

Hola
I tried this slumber app but it did not turn my screen off during charging. Yes, I did launch the app from the watch and ensured that it was enabled.
Am I missing something?
Thanks.

The button to enable/disable Slumber wasn't very intuitive to me. I actually disabled it when I wanted to enable it, so you may have the same problem. Try toggling the setting the other way around.
also, incase anyone noticed, slumber only puts a black overlay on top of the clock. the screen is still lit up at night, but it's black. incredibly stupid on Motorola to not let us shut off the screen.

WatchWake - Keep Screen on While Charging or Debug Now with Brightness Setting

Just what it says it does. My only problem with the Wear24 was keeping the screen on while debugging or charging. This app fixes that problem.
The latest update adds support to change screen brightness while charging. Make sure you grant settings permissions when it asks.

Thanks!! This is the only app that sets my Huawei Watch's brightness lower than system setting.
Is it possible to set ambient brightness lower also?

This changes both modes on the Wear24. I believe there is no way to manually trigger ambient mode, so I don't think I can do much with that. Does the Huawei watch have separate brightness settings? I may get out my Moto360 sport and see how it works on that.

If I'm correct, there is no option to set ambient mode brightness on Huawei Watch, and it's way too bright in my opinion...
Thanks for this. I use Google Pay so I'm required to use a lockscreen on my watch. Debugging apps over cable was a nightmare with constant turning of a screen and unlocking.
I only enabled Screen on while Debugging at first, but the screen won't turn off at all while the app is installed. ADB Debugging is off. Also, when Change Brightness is enabled, it changes the brightness when charging, but then does not set the brightness back to whatever it was after taking it off the charger.

Hey,
The debugging just checks to see if ADB is enabled using:
https://developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/Settings.Global.html#ADB_ENABLED
To stop this behavior, you have to go into the developer settings and turn adb off or swipe away the locked on notification. I'd be welcome to change this if you know of a way to check if an Android device is actively being debugged.
I am not able to replicate the issue with the brightness being reset. I would suggest swiping away the notification if it is active before charging, then adjusting the brightness and placing it on the charger again to see if this fixes it.
Also, the charge functionality will not work on Android 8 devices since background services are not allowed to be started from a receiver like charging. I'd also change this if there is another way.

I tried to install it on Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Dual Phone and Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet. I don't upgraded my Wear24 to Wear OS 2.0 and I cant find Play Store in apps of watches. When I am searching WatchWake on phone or tablet it can't be found but it available to search in browser but can't be install because of incompatible. Other Wear OS apps I installed to phone and after that it was installed to Wear24 by Wear OS app from phone.

Since you haven't updated your Wear24 to 2.0, it will not appear on the play store. I decided not to support Wear 1 on the play store as this requires a mobile app and usually leads to lots of bad reviews from users who install it on their phone and don't see the app and the new method only works half the time which also causes bad reviews. The app should support the watch, but you will have to sideload it. search for "Watchwake apk" and you should be able to find it.

Glad you got it working! Keep in mind leaving the app running may cause burn-in on the Wear24 so I would suggest not leaving it on for long periods of time.

You can with AutoWear. The Brightness setting accepts values between 0 - 255. At night I set it to 51 (watch brightness level 1) and 204 during the day (watch brightness level 3).

On my Wear24, this app works to reduce the brightness of the default blue charging display, but not the actual Ambient mode, which can in fact be triggered manually - after dismissing the default display, just smoosh your palm on the whole screen! (this still works while it's on the charger) - Doing that turns the brightness back up.
Would there be any way to detect when I do it while it's charging and turn the brightness back down where I set it?
