Help!!! Moto E verizon (xt1528); Google reset security locked by - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

problem in summary:
bought Moto E verizon 2nd Gen (xt1528), and was using it through gsm unlock.
I've to reset once coz I was going yo give it to my mom, I didn't know about this reset security feature from google.
trying to log in previous mail+all my other google mail address. but it doesn't working or login from one month.
tried all bypass process, neither worked.
I've flashed factory firmware (5.1). no problem during flash.but again stuck on google log in from about a week.
I've read that 5.0 has not this security feature. already downloaded the 5.0 flash firmware. don't know I'll going to work or not.
plz help me, what should I do know??
have I made this machine a paperweight already?

still no solution?

how did you flash stock 5.1 factory firmware. I am not able to do that on xt1528 as it is a locked bootloader.

[Q] How to flash a different stock image with a locked bootloader

Got a Cricket Moto E.
Removed sim lock.
Bootloader is locked and cannot be unlocked.
The Cricket 4.4.4 ROM is crippled with all tethering options disabled. PDANet works for USB tethering, but not for Wifi
Saw this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755857&page=12 with 4.4.4 factory images.
Tried to switch by flashing retail as described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759495
According to post #3 in that thread - it should work
Q1: Will this work on locked bootloaders?
Ans: Yes as stock firmwares are digitally signed by Motorola.
Howeever I'm getting
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
when try to flash the retail version.
The bottom line - I need wifi tethering, not even a different firmware and/or root.
What are my options, if any?
TIA.
BUMP! This is becoming quite a common phone (for 50$ it's a great deal). However the locked bootloader is quite a roadblock for those (like me) who go crazy running stock firmware, whether it be so you can tweak your kernel settings for optimal battery life/performance, use xposed framework (gotta save those snapchats), use tethering apps or just so you can run Pimp My ROM..
I'm hoping that my post on this will draw some sort of attention to this issue.
Maybe the images you are using are for 4.4.2
Maybe the images are for 4.4.2. I faced such a situation long time ago and have found this:
https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/percy_g2/Moto_E
Download the zip file present in the link. That is 4.4.4 and flash these images

That's the dual SIM model firmware. The firmware we would need on Cricket is the XT1021 model. XT1022 is Dual SIM, XT1025 is has built a in digital TV tuner hope this clears a bit up for ya.
Oh thank you for clarifying!
Btw. can you post a screenshot of the "About Phone" so as to get some details of your required ROM.

I'm not sure why you quoted me but if someone flashes a soap test that is not for their phone then they need not cry when it bricks and yes it could fail on the official update.
I can't imagine why anyone would be dumb enough to flash a soak that someone posts when they will eventually get it without bugs when it's released.

I know what I am doing. I have had many phones and have flashed many different ROMs onto them. Also, it says this on the website linked in the video: "Also, this is only for model no. XT1643, Moto G4 Plus. Update: It is said to be working on all these model nos. XT1643, XT1640, XT1642, XT1622 and XT1626." The only way people would know if it works on those models is if they tried flashing it. It never said that the xt1625 was supported, but it also never said anything about not being supported.
Also to the person who doesn't understand how we could be so "dumb" to flash this, we want a taste of Nougat right now. It isn't too hard to flash back to Marshmallow when the official update comes out. Sure there are bugs in the soak test, but that is to be expected.

Ok, we all know how good you are but for someone with a locked bootloader it's not that easy to fix a soak test problem. Since I've personally officially soak tested previous models of the G phones multiple times I know that a soak test can actually stop an official OTA update. I've even had them push a soak to me that had another carriers bloat in it.

True. I keep forgetting that you aren't able to unlock the Amazon version. I personally have the unlocked version from Motorola.

I have to agree with you the youtuber who made the 7.0 installation video above has also made a downgrade back to marshmallow 6.0 tutorial and it downgraded just fine ? i also noticed rite after he downgraded he got a ota update so that obviously means when the official 7.0 starts to roll out anyone who did do a downgrade of the soak test will get the ota update so all this crap about we cant get the official update ota if we flash this soak test is just plain rubbish
Is there something Im missing? I have the amazon version xt1625 and I have an unlocked boot loader.

You used to be able to unlock it, but Amazon put a stop to that. You just happened to get it unlocked before Amazon stopped it.
will it work on XT1624 ?
So I may give this a shot. I have been rooting and flashing all my phones until the G4 which was perfect for e out of the box. So I wonder if there is any way to revert back to Marshmallow without unlocking the bootloader. Otherwise I might skip it and wait for the official update. Thanks in advance.

Is the Republic Wireless XT1625 a dual sim phone?
If so that is why it works.
stkpxl said:
Doubt it. Should be the same version as the ones you get from Best Buy or another retailer. The Republic Wireless app is a system app in the retail version so I figure that's what they're selling.

Snapdragon based phones can't be unlocked/rooted. I believe your only option is the non carrier specific firmware for the phone. If you're trying to network unlock it, Xfinity can supply an unlock code if the phone is paid off.

Assuming you are using the correct version of Odin (3.13.1 3B patched), then the main possibility is that you're trying to flash unlocked firmware that has an older bootloader than what you have. It's not possible to do this. You're on ARG8, which is bootloader 3. The latest published unlocked firmware has bootloader 2, so it won't work.
Now if you use the search feature, you'll be able to find U1 firmware which is 3ARG7. You can flash to that, but there is no HOME_CSC, so you will be forced to factory reset. Make a good backup in Smart Switch first! The good news is that you should have done a factory reset when going from U to U1 anyway.
More good news: Normally, when flashing to unlocked firmware, you'd lose Wi-Fi Calling. But this new unreleased unlocked firmware actually has it.
You should be able to uninstall the Xfinity apps. Hopefully Crazy's advice will get you fixed up though.

You might not have flashed the CSC_OMC_OYM and instead used the home_csc (or didn't use one at all)... Home_CSC keeps all your apps and the carrier apps intact, the other does not.
In your case it might be worth trying the U1 firmware instead of the carrier specific firmware. The U1 firmware is from the unlocked galaxy s9+ so it will be the most generically compatible, minus the carrier apps. Flash the CSC_OMC_OYM so that it gets rid of anything that was previously present from Xfinity... I did this process with my Sprint phone and I have the Samsung boot logo (instead of Sprint's) as well as none of the carrier apps.
Though if none of this works and you still see the unwanted boot logo then unless you want too root your device (and your phone is one of the models that can be rooted) what you ask will not be possible.

SM-G965F/DS (Partially Unlock Problem)

I got my phone from one of the carriers in the Philippines which is locked. So I decided to try out the unlock method of cellunlocker and here's what happened. First they tried to find an unlock code of my phone via my IMEI and sadly they didn't made it and so recommending me to try the software way and decided to give it a shot (desperately to unlocked my phone) and the procees went smoothly though and yes it unlocked my phone and be able to use any sim card, the problem is that it works only as for Call and Text but sadly Mobile Data isn't working :/ for other sim, mobile data works only with my phone's carrier sim. This thing happens when trying to unlock a device? Is my phone still has a possibility to do a full unlock since asking for an unlock code won't popped out anymore? Or I can't do more any unlock method with my phone? Is this good as dead? yay.
You need configure APN. You can check on Google tutorials and data for configure the APN for your carrier.

Unable to update after unlocking bootloader & rooting

Anyone else not able to update via OTA after unlocking and rooting? The updater just crashes on applying update step 3 of 4. And if so is there any way to get the updates back, even if it means losing root?

Ok thank you. I have been looking around and I have not yet found someone who has been successful in unlocking the bootloader on their Verizon Moto Edge+ in USA. I will keep searching.
Hope you find the solution to your problem.
Hmm, this looks promising. Just bought an unlocked S10 (Snapdragon) and will be returning it since it cannot be rooted. Thinking of grabbing the unlocked version of this phone to use on T mobile. It is the same price as what I paid for the S10, so I would only be out the $50 restocking fee. I need root, Adaway, and of course Viper4Android. As of right now, my old rooted Galaxy S4 with Viper4Android absolutely KILLS the S10 in the audio department.

Yes and yes, but there's an easier way.
When an OTA update arrives uninstall magisk (this is only temporary)
Install the OTA and make sure to not restart
Go back to magisk and install but select install to inactive slot (After OTA)
Now you can restart and you're done!
Here's the guide where I got this from
When I tried to restore the back up image for the uninstall step, it says "Stock backup does not exist". Where can I get a stock boot image? Does it have to be Racer xt2063-2 or can it be xt2063-3. This page has variants of xt2063-3, but the Google drives they're stored on have "reached their quotas" so you can't download the images. Those images being stored on a Google drive has me suspicious of motostockrom.com.
What are the variants about? That site not explaining that also makes me suspicious.
Edit: l found a stock boot image here. What is the name of the file Magisk needs to see and where do I put it?
