Hello Guy and Girls
I'm new hear and I would like to ask some questions.
Q1. Has anyone or is anyone getting battery problems like percentage jumping and is there any way to sort it out.
Q2. What are the best App's to help save the battery.
Q3. Is the gorilla glass 100% scratch proof is it worth getting screen defender.
Q4. How safe is rooting the phone and is it worth it.

Hey!
A1.&A2. Its common problem, almost with every ROM(it depends A LOT of you phone usage). In somewhere here is thread about to save your battery life(search it). Battery Calibrator help little, but you must be ROOTED, before to use it.
A3. Again it depends, where you but it. Some surfase not so smooth and straight. You may still scratch you screen(but its pretty scratch proof). Decide your self, dose you need screen protector.
A4. ITS SAFE(you can always reflash it or UNROOT, if you want). Jep its worth it. You cant make even GOOD backup, with out Rooting.
How to calibrate battery? Here you GO

I'm new to droid and I'm a bit surprised at low battery life on my galaxy s2 so far.
Can anyone recommend a rom to root it with that will provide optimum battery life?
Many thanks!
Root wont do anything for the battery . It just extends user access to a lower level .
Read the battery posts .

Well I'd say you will need root indirectly to get better battery life. Cause the great apps like Titanium Backup, Root Explorer won't work and without them you won't be able to freeze/uninstall some useless apps.
Regards.

Please, somebody open my eyes to choose correct ROM for battery life.
I only care BATTERY LIFE.
CloudyFlex , Optimus Pro , coudy G3, pardus, or else .......... which one?
ROM choice is less important than kernel choice. Dorimanx, sovaca, and Render build great kernels.
im using now CloudyFlex 2.6 but i don't know which kernel in it. What is your suggest for CloudyFlex 2.6 ? Thank you for your replies.
Either dori or sovaca will be fine. Render is only for AOSP. Just be sure to flash the right version for your phone and nandroid backup first

make sure you also use:
- autostarts: to prevent apps that update/check through internet all the time and wake up your phone all the time to see whther you got a new post. You would be surprised by how many triggers some apps will start and run services in the background.
- greenify: to put apps to sleep while your phone is off.
- check the settings for some of your apps: many apps want to know your location or anything else every 2 minutes and that doesn't let your phone sleep properly.
I use cloudyflex 2.6 btw. My battery does not lose a single % when I am not actively using my phone.
I run Plain-Andy with Render in ART, absolutely zero "battery saving" apps or settings, I easily get 1-2 days without a charge, right now its sitting at 51% 1d5h30m with 2h30m screen on.
I got the same battery life out of Mahdi and G3 port.
Battery saving apps are a gimmick and just more apps to run in the background.

They are not only "battery saving apps", I _hate_ it when apps come on when I don't specifically tell them to... I don't trust them.
I haven't tried without autostarts/greenify, I might get same battery results.
Then again, if you tried with them you might get even better battery
I do have a flatline battery usage when I am not actively using the phone (or running major backups in the background).
i dont like and i dont trust any app related "Battery perf.-Cleaner-Ram-etc" . But I dont know why, i just like Greenify App.
What do you think of Greenify? is it necessary or does it works?
Dont root. Ever since I rooted my battery got worse and worse. Even after returning to nonrooted stock. I regret rooting my G2 because stock worked great. Best battery life = dont root.

May be right, my be not... it's what you think and i respect your experience.
Let's my thoughts: first af all, i use 10c stock rom first and then 20d and then 20c. These are good roms i know but i think that these are only for normal users. Everything in system is normal level with these roms. I dont like limited use.
I want to change notification bar, navigation bar, and some colors... I ve bought a android phone because i want to interfere in systtem when i want.
my test results:
10c-20d-20c = slide photo view(nonstop), screen time 4h35m and 5h40m
In the same way, other custom roms : 6h10m and 7h35m (optimus pro-cloudyflex-g3)
wifi = on
brightness = %100
remain battery level= %8
NOTE: onlly use single Rom, dont any other app such as cleaner, battery saver etc.
If i use lots of apk with custom roms, my battery is getting weak.
You want a rom with the best battery life? Stock! Stock rom should be your answer :silly:

That's just an illusion. Rooting won't affect your battery life, giving root permission to apps would. Root permission isn't something trivial, just keep that in mind.

Stock rom, bildiğin LGnin kendi romu. Daha ondan daha iyi pil ömrü sunan rom görmedim. Eğer uzun zamandır stock kullanmıyorsan mutlaka dene, 3-5 tam sarj sonra pil ömrüne bak ne demek istediğimi anlarsın
Stock rom, the one comes with the phone. It has the best battery life, from the ones i tried at least. If you are not using stock rom for a while you should give it a chance.

Stock is definitely the best as far as I tried. But would recommend giving Cloudyg3 a shot, I'm getting great battery with the out of the box kernel.
The whole battery life quest is always a bit hard to measure because everyone expects something different.
I've tried every ROM there is. I'm not exaggerating. Stock will always give you the best battery life without needing battery saving apps. But if you then use battery saving apps on stock it gets even better.
I find the biggest savings are through apps that control how your phone uses data while the screen is off and control the CPU while the screen is off.
But if you don't want to tweak anything or use apps to do so, then a nice clean stock ROM is what you want. Because each dev has different goals you may just have to try each one until you find one that meets YOUR requirements.
For nice clean and thoughtfully tweaked stock ROMs I'd recommend Lightning V4 or worship ROM.

My device isn't great on battery by any mean but with "taking a pictures (10-15), a short video (2-3m), Data open all day, 30-35m calling, messenger and whatsapp all day", by 7pm when I come home from work, it would still have 70% - 80%
So basically the title says all. I'm planning to use this device a little bit longer, and the only problem with it is the battery life - but I love everything else, like the display, the sound, the design. I was a wonder to root before few months but feels like at this point, at least with Samsung you losing more than you will gain with root. Like Samsung Pass, Samsung Health and Security folder. I know there is a way to recreate them but not sure is worth it all the work. Although, I tihnk is worth it to sacrifice those (but I really will miss Samsung pass), to have a better battery life.
So my question is, if I root my device, put some custom rom + some app like Greenify, will be I able to have a better battery life than now? At the moment I make around 3h of sot, which maybe is normal for device +1 year old. But I can't trust it when I'm going out. Always need to carry a power bank with me, just in case...

yes, installing a custom ROM will likely increase your battery life so as that the kernel that the ROM youve chosen is optimized for efficiency. If the ROM you choose is overclocked beast-mode gaming champion settings enabled, then no. Some ROMs are also very stripped down eliminating seldom used apks thereby increasing batt life as well. What model do you have? if its the g965u, you aint rootin it fwiw
Thanks for the response!
Yes, I understand boosting or using some modes for performance can lead to worst battery life. My device is G965F. As for now, I'm planning to wait for the final version of Android 10. Then I guess would wait for developers to update their ROMs and chose the lite one?

Youre most welcome!
If you do that, you might be waiting for a while as Samsung has been recently pushing to make root more and more difficult. If youre dead set on rooting, id do it now and avoid the pitfalls of being on a bootloader version that you cant go back to your old one from and waiting for the devs to figure out the new source code etc etc.
I have CPU-Z paid installed and Accubattery Pro that never displays more than 96% charged despite fully charged on the stock ROM.....is the security app blocking it?
CPU-Z Pro is fine but not on screen....
Any recommendations for one of the best on screen real time system info CPU, GPU, RAM etc paid app...
Hoping to hear your expert recommendations.
Thanks.
Real time?
So you want something with an overlay of system resource usage?
I use FKM for that.

Correct, Real time.
FKM looks good, but I believe it requires rooting and does kernels tweaking.
My cell isn't rooted, plus at this age I don't think I'd be able to root.. just a retired noob trying to learn at this age..
Probably take it to phone shop..
Plus with root won't be able to get auto updates..
Thanks anyways for the recommendation.

Never too old to learn, but unfortunately yes, rooting would be required to have that feature with FKM.
I've also used this app in the past, but not since getting the RN9P. Not as detailed as FKM but it may suffice for your needs and I don't recall a root requirement.
Cpu Float - Apps on Google Play
CpuFloat (free) gives you system information on top of the current app.
play.google.com
DevCheck has pretty good dashboard of how system resources are used and general information on almost everything.
regarding your worries of battery not charging 100%, you should be glad. to put very short what helps these Lithium-ion batteries endurance, the less time battery spends at charge levels >90% and <40% the better it for the battery

Any guide to root RN9Pro?
I'm running a debloated stock ROM.
Rooting would interfere with autoupdates.. correct?
Would require a custom recovery and a custom ROM?
Thanks.

i suggest you do your research, or get help of someone who has done it hands-on because lot of things can go wrong if you dont know what you are doing. cant recommend anything because unfortunately from what i've seen in the forums no ROM can boast of full functionality of the stock ROM(i too hate it).
