[Q] Kingston Micro SD card not detected by Leo

Hi, apologies if there's another thread on this.. I did a search and combed through 8 pages and couldn't find any reply.. Anyways.
I'd like to run Android on my phone, so I purchased this microSD card from Amazon:
Kingston 8 GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDC4/8GB
And I loaded it up with Froyo Sense and I insert it into my phone, and nothing happens, the card is not detected.. I did format the whole card to FAT32 before loading up Android, maybe that's the problem? Any help is appreciated.. Thank you.
Mil
Also I forgot to mention in my initial post that I am using a TMOUS phone but it is unlocked for ATT..
Thanks
Mil

I think if you're running Android from the SD card (which is the case with HD2) you should have got a higher class SD card (class 6 or higher). Otherwise theoretically class 4 would be sufficient. Additionally there are other reports - just google it - from people complaining from kingston class 4 sd cards being not recognized...

Thanks all, I just went ahead and bought a Transcend class 8 8GB off Amazon instead!

For me its perfect, I have no feeling that it slow down or something
i got a new 16GB SDHC card couple of weeks ago, but since then my phone sometimes restarted itself, and some apps is running very bad, particularly Waze (it's a GPS programm). I tried to format the card with the PC and phone also, but still same results. I had a 2GB card, and had no any problem it all...
Any ideas what may be the problem?
Thank you in advance

try formatting the block size to 32KB
An sd card does not need to be formated only hdd do... What couldve hapend is that your boot sector got screwed up. Try putting your sd card in an card reader and connect it to the pc. On windows 7 go to start type cmd and hit enter. Then type: chkdsk /X /F /A:, where A: is your card reader. Hit enter and wait. I revived a couple SD Card by this method. Without losing any data!
***Ignore this***
Edited for clarity.
I have a Class4 16 gb card. Worked well so far.
Guys - Can we lose the personal criticism here - this thread is bang on the money with a problem I'm really struggling with and I'd hate for the thread just to become a shouting match.
My daughters x10 Mini Pro (running latest paul-xxx version of CM7) is just refusing to play nicely with a Sandisk 8Gig Class 4 SDHC which has prviously worked perfectly in a Samsung Genio.
On the 8 Gig card music jumps between tracks as you are listening , apps moved to SD Card refuse to run, photos save OK and will open once in Gallery but then the jpgs get corrupted and cannot be reopened on the phone or when transfered to a PC.... and to crown it all I get random reboots/freezes.
If I drop back to an old Kingston 2 Gig Micro-SD (ie non-SDHC) everything on the phone works fine and yet when I format the 8Gig card on my PC, there are never any errors and I can then copy files on and off the card (via the card reader in the PC) multiple times with no issues.
Is this just a somewhat more extreme example of other peoples experiences or would you suspect my micro SD is b*ggered?
I suspect that this "quality" Sony phone is just so sensitive to SDHC cards that I need to get one which others can confirm works reliably and stick to it.
For now my daughter is content to run with the 2 Gig card and have a stable, working phone but obviously she'd like to carry more than a dozen Albums and Apps at any time.
Any advice?

fastest sd supported?

Hi all,
I don't need a super big sd card for the phone, but I would like to get a fast one. Anyone know what is the highest class SD card the phone supports? Will class 10 work?
thanks

get one of the card in the link above. microsdxc cards class 10 are the faster supported I believe. I bought a 64gb one from amazon. Chech out some of these deals:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=microsdxc
im getting around 13.5MB/s write and 45.1 MB/s read speeds with my card
class 10 work i have a class 10 64gb
thanks. I went with a 16gb class 10 since I don't really need anything as big as 64gb. Now onto screen protectors....
thanks

[Q] Benefits of having a SD card

So i stumbled across getting a free 64gb class 10 sd card for my note 2 and was wondering what benefits does having a sd card have besides more storage and what more that its class 10? Im a noob to the whole sd cards with phones as i usually never buy sd cards but with this one being free i said sure why not. I would also like to know if there are any performance enhancements with having this sd card now? I appreciate the help ahead of time
Why wouldnt you want more storage lol...i have like 11gb of music on my sd card you can put movies on it anything..and there are ways to swap your internal memory and sdcard so you could theoretically have 64gb of internal memory...i gota 32gb card if ya wanna trade hahah

SD Card with class lower than 10

Hello everyone,
I just bought this device and it looks awesome, but when I inserted my Samsung class 6 SD Card it said that SD cards with classes lower than 10 may affect performance and it won't let me use it, neither in file manager or settings... How can I use my SD? Thanks in advance!
