i guys
Im new to the xda, and im hoping to find a complete answer from the experts here.
i was looking for a new phone to buy, my old phones were LG g2 mini and Meizu MX4 pro.
The main problem i had with these two phone were battery life (and i had a major problem with meizu in heating and lagging so much!! Once I recorded temperature of 69 Celsius in meizu !! )
Now that I want to buy a new phone I started to read reviews and GSM Arena Battery life Table.
but it doesn't get me anywhere!
my main question is :
with enabling your data on mobile full day and using apps like telegram, and with minimum time of playing games(like boom beach)
which battery can makes through a day and half of use ?!
i was thinking of Sony Z5 Compact, but i couldnt decide whether its battery is good or not ?
in a nutshell, which phone can lasts longer with enabling data on 3g fulltime ? (there isnt any answer on the internet ! )
thank you in advance for your answers guys
Go with Lenovo vibe P1 , it has 5000mah battery :fingers-crossed: . Any mobile with Battery capacity more than 3000mah would do 1 day on lite to medium usage bt it depends on screen on time. No mobile has 24 hrs screen on time with high usage

I have downloaded both indian version of ICS and global version. Global version seems to have greater file size. Are both Global version and Indian Version same or one is better than other ? Does it matter where you live ?
Which one is better and why ?
This is for Q&A, why post here...
Is it so hard to read that Q & As should be posted in the Q& A section, how did you miss it ?
Thread moved to Q & A section, post in the relevant section next time.
Welcome to XDA lol

Thank mate !! I guess i don't have to say that i am new here. Battery life in sola is horrible. i tried global ics. i think it made it even worse. i then flashed it with hybrid it didn't help. Do you think flashing my phone with indian version will make it any better ?

how long does the battery lasts?
How bright and how much 3G are you running the thing?
This thing doesn't have the greatest battery life. I can barely go for 3 hours of internet radio before it dies. The 8 hours battery life can be obtained with lowest brightness and some surfing.
Once you hit into games, then it's time to bring spare chargers.

Hi guys
So far i tried almost all the ROMs available for 780 and what i found is no matter which i use the battery backup remains the same.
The noticeable difference is of and hour or so that's all.... same goes to RAM
usually its been advertised in ROM that plenty of RAM and longer battery life but i found all of them more or less same.
my score.
Battery - 60 hrs , wifi on , general use of whats app nothing else
RAM - around 450 MB free
Whats your score ? and which one is the best ROM considering those two criteria...
Do post your reply !!

ROW - JellyBean - Life v0.7 - 4 days - the phone was new!
ROW - JellyBean aka S124 - allmost 4 days - after 6 month
ROW - KitKat aka S226 - allmost 3 days - after 1 year and 1 month
CN - KitKat aka VIBEUI 2.0 - 2 and a half days after 1 year and 4 month
Remember that the accumulator weakens in time and Android apps become more energy hunger !

I found the MIUI the best in those two criteria. After 1 year of usage and plenty of Battery draining apps, atop of the system s228 which is lousy (i feel) when it comes to RAM management and battery, it would las t only for 1 day and then some. Using MIUI, it lasts for 2 whole days with WiFi and Whatsapp on!

Well that really depends on what I'm doing when the screens on. If I'm playing Mobile Legends about 4 hours, If I'm watching videos about 5.5 hours, if I'm just on here reading or replying to emails then 6-7 hours. Don't put too much stock into peoples sot because how they use it may not be anything like how you use it. With QC 3.0 you can go from 0-100% in an hour or 0-35% in 12 minutes.
Hi, went from Note 3 to this phone as well. If you worry about the battery life, at least compared to Note 3, don't. The processor is way more power efficient. Of course if you push it hard with games it eats up the battery fast. Medium to moderate use i get easily through a day with 30% percent left. The best thing maybe is the speed compared to the Note 3 lags (thanks Samsung). However there are many phones to consider. If you have a bit more budget i would also look the OnePlus 3T.
I was worried about the battery coming from a redmi note 3 which had a beast of a battery.
I never failed to get through a full day yet and the QC makes all the difference when you need a topup. Battery could be better but it is by no means bad.

Hey, i got a sweet deal for brand new Z5 compact, and bought it for a family member (previous phone galaxy s4 mini)
Compact size (and good reviews) were deciding factors
I'm a long time nexus user and don't know anything about Xperia in general, apart from reviews for Z5..
Can you help me with a bit of tl;dr what should i expect from software in general, and Z5 model? quirks, problems, something i should watch out for or modify?
I'm not gonna root/rom if not necessary, want a stock stable android and maybe cosmetic changes with a good launcher or similar
any help appreciated
Overheating, bad camera image quality, battery drain, lagging due to old CPU, 2G ram and aggressive throttling..
My advice would be get newer model instead like X Compact or XZ1 Compact if you have higher budget.
I'm a old Nexus 4 user too. I bought my Z5c when my Nexus 4's screen become unusable after it was dropped. I've installed official Lineage OS on my Z5c. I'm not a heavy phone user but occasionally in the day i look up reddit use firefox to read/search something and listen music when I'm using subway and of course use Whatsapp to communicate with my friends. I don't use Facebook on my phone. Installing Lineage rooting via Magisk and installing Brevent app for increasing battery life made phone my favorite. It endures my daily use for 2 days without charging sometimes it may go 2 and 1/2. The features of stock rom like Bravia engine were not interesting for me and considering the bloatware included it's hard to call that they are worth it. I generally don't use my phone as camera but sometimes take quick photos of the landscapes with scenic views. Camera quality is enough for me. I'm not taking 4K videos w/ my phone anyway. There is a feature of stock ROM that I miss though. The iOS like selection magnifier for text boxes was a killer feature of stock ROM. RAM usage dropped 200 MiB and responsiveness of the phone is significantly increased with LOS. It is a great phone overall.

It's gonna be very very lightweight usage, basic stuff only, so only thing that concerns me is that 'battery drain' after nougat update?
Is that issue fixed with some recent updates or still a problem?

Huh man, now i'm thinking of Lineage ^^ i know it's better os, but i used nexus because i didn't have time to constantly updating my roms and guessing will my camera work properly with new one etc.
If i decide to flash Lineage, can you tell me is it streamlined and documented properly for Z5 so i don't waste hours on research?
And also, is nougat battery drain still present? any major bugs in Lineage for Z5?
tnx for replies!
I'm running latest stock rooted. Having overheating and lags when browsing webs..
wipe calvik data cache...remove bloatware (spotify, moviecreator...) try again...after that the phone works as it should
100% use LineageOS. Performance and battery life life are phenomenal compare to the latest stock firmware.

I just tested to see how much battery drain will happen when phone is not in use, no sim card, connected to my wifi, with stamina turned off.
It's siting on my desk for 3 days, currently 45% battery left, thats not bad right? i'm sure that with sim card it will be more, but still..
If i go for LOS Can you tell me what version should i go for, for most stable performance? I see there is Stable Release Date: 2017-08-27..

What apps you're using and screen brightness are the biggest two factors. Not all apps are made equal and some basic apps like music streaming services will chew RAM and battery. Imo, it's better to just use your phone as you wish and carry a charger with you.
Usually 10-12 hour SOTs mean sticking to battery-friendly apps, dim screen, tinkering with wakelocks/doze and keeping tabs on whether you're unnecessarily using 4G. Other times you just get a good stint through unintentionally doing the above.
Great explanation, thank you. With normal use I get around 6hous, which is great I get through the day with one charge.
He should show the battery graph
Pixel experience pie caf edition is running very smoothly with great battery life(9hours of sot)
