Back to stock | Xperia Z5 Compact - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any option to relock bootloader?
How do i get stock recovery back (I'm currently on twrp)?
I'm asking these questions because of i think i bricked my z5 compact by accidently wiping the internal system too and know i cant get adb to get working by pushing a custom rom too Xperia Companion doesnt restore back and gives me error. I have tried several tools and drivers without success. Fastboot is working.
//EDIT: A solution for all of this mess is to not using the newest twrp recovery. I flashed the older one version 2.8.x.x and everything worked again.

[Q] Can anybody help me replace the Cyanogen Recovery with TWRP or CWM?

I've recently flashed CyanogenMod 12 Rom on my Xperia T.
Yesterday I tried to install BRAVIA Engine 3 by flashong a .zip, but I got an error "E:cannot load volume /misc!".
I've read some threads and the comments below and what I understood is that the Cyanogen Recovery can't flash ZIP files...
That's why I want to replace it, but I'm not sure how. I flashed TWRP on Xperia T's stock ROM with adb in fastboot mode and what I want to know is - if I flash it again through fastboot will it work properly and is it safe?
If this is not the way I need some help with replacing it with TWRP, CWM or any good working recovery......
I hope someone will answer this.....
Solved
I've used "Rashr - Flash Tool" and flashed TWRP. It shows you the latest version of TWRP and flashes it.
Working fine on me Xperia T with CM12.

Z2 thinks it's a Z1!

I tried installing a rom (the 2.2 version of this one). It went all the way to updating google apps and then is stuck in a boot loop.
So I tried installing it again and in both TWRP and Phil recovery this crashes the phone.
My computer lists the phone as a Z1 now instead of a Z2 (I'm 100% sure that it's actually a Z2). Plus I can't get sideload to work now and I can't install other roms either as both recoveries say "This package is for device: D6502, D6503, D6506, D6543, sirius; this device is honami"
Help, how do I fix this?
All sorted, followed the steps outlined in this guide and now I'm back to the stock rom.

Can't access anything

So, I think I finally did it. I broke my phone.
I wanted to flash the new Existenz Rom 6.0 and the flashing worked fine. The phone started and it got stuck in the Xperia logo. I than downloaded the Bootloop Fix. To make sure nothing goes wrong I wanted to do another factory reset. Somehow, my phone uses two roms (Philz custom recovery or something like that (I flashed the rom with this) and a TWRP Recovery). My phone booted into the TWRP (which it usually doesn't do) Recovery and I thought "Well, I can do a factory reset here". So I did the advanced reset but after restarting I can't access anything! When I turn it on, there is still the Sony Logo but if I press up and down I can't access none of the custom recoverys. I'm truly desperate and I can't afford a new phone. Can someone help me how to fix this?
@DerDokktor
XZDR and similar recoveries for locked bootloader reside in /system partition , when you wiped your system you also wiped the recovery...
You'll need to flash an .ftf firmware with flashtool to recover your phone. If you want root and a locked bootloader flash a KK or LP ftf (as MM is not rootable yet), then root it with kingroot or something else you like, install XZDR from your computer and then you can go to the recovery again and flash existenz rom or any prerooted rom you want.
You could also flash a MM .ftf directly but then you won't be able to root it without unlocking your BL.
If you need help with flashtool follow this guide:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/03/1...peria-lollipop-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool/
Edit: the first steps of this guide are to create your own .ftf , if you already have an .ftf downloaded you can go straight to the "Now that the FTF firmware file has been created, you need to flash your Sony Xperia device." section of the guide.

Can't update twrp? Or find a cwm download for an Xperia z3 tablet compact Wi-fi

Ok so Let me go through the whole story. I wanted to root my Xperia z3 tablet compact SPG611 and I was being a bit of a noob so I opened the bootloader and I was so eager so I get on to rooting as I did it before on my Xperia z3 but on that I dropped it and it broke sooo... but yeah I went to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3...ment/advanced-stock-kernel-twrp-root-t2959720 and flashed this onto my tablet. But I had 2 problems I was in a boot loop but I was able to go to recovery and the twrp is at v2.7.1.0 so my clever self decided to wipe everything, I mean everything off of the tablet and I didn't back up. This meant that I had no os installed and I can't download a custom rom because there is always a problem, mainly cannot execute updater-binary when I flash paranoid. Also when I flash a newer version of twrp through fast boot it says finished okay but doesn't update on my tablet.
So I'm basically asking has anyone either got a way of updating twrp or a download for another recovery and has anyone got either a stock rom or a custom rom that they dowloaded on a Xperia z3 tablet compact SPG611 that actually worked.
Sorry for the long issue but can someone please help it would be the most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I always embed both twrp, SuperSU and Xposed Framework inside the kernel with the Rootkernel script. The only downside is that you have to use this procedure when updating Xposed and SuperSU.
After you created the patched kernel, just flash the kernel with fastboot. After that you have twrp (and SuperSU and Xposed if you included those).

My z5 compact don't start after installing TWRP

Hello,
I tried this morning to install a custom ROM for my sony xperia z5 compact. Unfortunately, it remains crashing on the "Sony" screen
I unlocked the bootloader via the official link https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/. Until then no worries, everything worked well.
Then I wanted to install a TWRP recovery via this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/twrp-3-1-0-z5-z5c-z5p-t3571050
I was able to flash it without worries but when restarting, TWRP asked me if I wanted to install the app, I put OK and from there, impossible to start my phone. "always stuck on Sony screen".
this is my config : E5823 / 32.4.A.1.54
I want just to start my phone. Is there possible to put a stock version? thanks
This is very urgent to resolve it unfortunately
Thanks for your help
you can close this subject, problem solved. Thanks
Wanna share how you fixed it?
Yes sure,
I flashed my recovery with the TWRP 3.1.1 posted before with the command "fastboot flash recovery {name_of_file.bin}" and I did a flash of the boot with the good version of boot with the commande "fastboot flash boot {name_of_file.bin}.
I founded the good boot at this address for my version : https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/general/32-4-1-54-coming-t3685995
