Bootloader unlock allowed before you buy? - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to know if your z5c has an unlockable bootloader before you buy it, or is the only way to know is to buy it and try?

Maybe you can do a quick check using the IMEI of the phone, right before buying it (on Sony's bootloader unlock site).

Go to the phone dialer, dial *#*#7378423#*#* and this will take you to the service menu. Select "Service Info" then "Configuration".

[Q] How to unlock bootloader? Allowed: NO 12w23

Hi people, after searching a lot, i just wanna make sure there is no way to get this done,
My phone has the bootloader locked, the manufacturation date is 12w23 , and the bootloader unlock status allowed: NO
Is there anyway to unlock my bootloader?
Thanks a lot!
Javier
Maybe a guy with medusa box can do it, there is NO online service that can do it, so don't look. You could take out the sim lock on your official provider (might be cheap or expensive) and then unlock by Sony's official method since it'll say "allowed: yes", but even if you do, you probably don't even have fastboot enabled, so you also need to contact Sony and see if they can enable fastboot after you are done with the simlock

[Q] "Bootloader unlock allowed: no" per model or per phone?

So I just got a new Xperia Go and it says "bootloader unlock allowed: No"
Is this a per model thing, per carrier, or just randomly selected phones. If I go back and get a Xperia U or some other brand or whatever, will I still be unable to unlock it since it's still from the same carrier?
I believe it's carrier related issue. Some Carrier ask SONY to do this. So devices under those carrier can not be unlocked.

[Q] How to Unlock bootloader on Xperia P / LT22i

Hi Guys,
My Xperia P is one of that specials one that canĀ“t be bootloader unlock. I already make the process:
""
First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
""
and of course is NO.
After all this time , out there is any solution for unlock bootloader?
Best Regards

[Q] Is the Z2 off Amazon bootloader unlockable?

Is this Z2, from Amazon. ca bootloader unlockable? Or no?
"Sony Xperia Z2 D6503 Smartphone Unlocked Import-Black"
You can check this by going into the service menu. Go to your phone's dialer, and type in *#*#7378423#*#* (otherwise interpreted as *#*#service#*#*) and navigate to "Service Info -> Configuration -> Rooting Status.
That should reveal whether or not your bootloader is unlockable with a simple 'yes' or 'no'.

I just ordered one from Amazon in the US and the bootloader is unlockable according to the service menu.

Bootloader not allowed

Okay, so I'm guessing this is a question that gets asked a lot, but honestly I couldn't really find a definite answer, so i figured I'd just ask.
I recently got an XZ1. The Model number in the service menu is G8341, if that matters. And in the configuration tab, it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No". I'm guessing this is a block that Sony put on there for whatever reason. Is there any way at all to circumvent/fix this and unlock the bootloader anyway so I can root my device and install a different ROM? Cause if not, I'm gonna send it back.
Thanks in advance.
I think it's not worth rummaging in the phone system. The consequences can be deplorable and the benefit is small. That's why I advise you not to change anything. Not worth it.

If it says 'unlock allowed: no' its not possible to unlock the bootloader. Is it a carrier branded phone?

Bootlock allowed=No phones are contract phones from providers. They don't want the hassle of "waa, I unlocked my phone and now it's broke" so they just disable it.
There is no way round it.
