Please help me guys.
I lost the IMEI of my beloved surnia. To get back the IMEI I need to have the QCN backup of a working surnia so that I can replace the IMEI in the qcn with my IMEIs.
I know that many of you might not be willing to share your IMEIs publicly. You can also sent it personally to me.
My mail ID:[email protected]
Or if any of you know how to do this stuff,I can give you my IMEIs and you can put it into your own QCN backup and sent it me.That way you won't have to disclose your IMEIs.
Please don't ignore this thread guys.Have some empathy.
Oh,come on guys....If you don't know how to take the backup, please ask me.
I can guarantee that nothing wrong will happen to your phone.

I certainly cannot speak for the Senior Members or the highly-experienced Developers here in XDA, but I do know that the areas of telephony involving IMEI numbers and /cid partitions get into a slippery slope in the areas of legality and professional ethics. While it is not in any way illegal to restore your phone's original IMEI number, you will likely find great reluctance from any experienced dev in assisting you in this matter. Try Googling "CDMA Workshop" and see if some of that software can be of any help. Much luck to you...

Sorry, I don't modify or alter IMEI numbers. As mentioned above, changing an IMEI, to the best of my knowledge, is illegal in many places in the world.

I flashed my Optimus One the russian way, and then my phone doesn't recognize any simcard. I tryed everything possible, downgrade, every methods, no way to get my sim cards recognized. The only possible thing that happened I think, is that the NV2 backup messed up and I lost primordial informations.
So what I'm asking is:
is there a way to create a custome NV2 with my IMEI
if not, can someone that doesn't live in France PM me a its own working NV2?
thanks in advance for your answers

Hmmm, I hope you realize that the other phone will not work on the same network at the same time now...
Why that? Seems that IMEI is changed, and both phones works on one cell (I have tried to call between both, surplus I have tried to call both from different numbers). I was afraid about a scenario you wrote, but seems it did not happen.
But if I did something stupid, please stop me

Uh. Make absolutely sure the phones do have different IMEI numbers!!!! If not, stop using one or the other immediately.
Best case, you will get into big trouble with your operator and have both phones blocked. Worst case, you will get into even a bigger trouble with law enforcement guys.
As both scenarios seems to be a bit unpleasand, I have doublechecked the IMEIs and they are different. Sometimes God likes a fools.
Anyway thanks for your time and effort to help.

hi,
s3 with a generic imei no. 004999010640000. its showing no service.
upon researching here, i found either the phone could be blocked (due to reported stolen) or messed up due to rom flashing.
whats the way forward ? can it still be useable ?
no efs folder backup is there.
your help in the matter would be highly appreciated.
many thanks and regards

Without a /efs backup you can't restore the IMEI.
First thing is report it to local police to cover yourself, then if you have the original box and proof of purchase go to Samsung and explain what has happened ie. You lost your imei, and they can restore it, if the phone isn't stolen that is.
If you bought this phone in good faith, then also take steps to resolve it with eBay or however you bought it.
If however it was a cheap deal of a dodgy mate.....well you live and learn.
Edit:
Woopsie! Was thinking out loud! Luckily nobody heard me but you

Enhanced Roaming Indicator is showed only when your carrier use it. If not, there will be 'not available' information and you shouldn't worry about that.

Agree with you ! No-one will give you their EFS backup (containing the must important information about their galaxy S3).
Foolish guy is foolish....
If you really want someone's IMEI number than you should be permanently banned from this forum. IMEI clonning is illegal and stupid because both phones will be inoperative if thay will have the same identification numbers.
You said your IMEI is ok and you have problems with ERI. We have told you that this isn't an error. Don't push up.

I don't know what the dude who begun this thread is or was up to but I do know that I have lost my EFS backup and as such have a GS3 I9300 which isn't working to fix.
I have searched at length and have come to know the IMEI and serial of the phone can be edited with a HEX Editor out of the nv_data.bin file and this information is on block 0188150 a-f and 0188160 0-4. I have tried it but since my nv_data.bin which I generated was corrupted in the first place, it made little or no difference.
If that truly is possible, why not edit those bits out and then share leaving pointers on how to get it personalized per the benefactor's phone.
Inasmuch as it's "risky" because no one is to be trusted, you should acknowledge the fact that, it is because we're searching for answers and solutions to questions and problems we're having, and discoveries we've made with our handsets, that is why we are here in the first place.
I believe there is ALWAYS a way to go about things differently. Let's help one another!
So who is gonna help poor me? Please ...
Dude, if we give you our efs backup/s, you'd have OUR IMEI numbers, OUR SERIAL numbers.
That's illegal, first thing.
Second of all, that means you have our warranty, so if you send your device in, and you don't have warranty anymore - we don't either..
So, basically: Big T for tuff...
It's your own fault, for not creating a proper backup, live with the consequences..

Hey guys...my i9300 is soft bricked... I need an efs backup img file or zip file...plz help...
Hi All,
I had my S2 stolen on Friday Morning, October the 5th, here in Lisbon, Portugal.
I now need my IMEI number in order to register the cancellation of the phone with the Police, but unfortunately, I don't have the number with me.
I have the latest backups from my phone, including a full Nandroid + EFS backup
My question here is: Where can I find my IMEI in the EFS tarball?
I have looked through nv_data.bin, but all I could find is my IMSI number in plaintext.
Is there any other way I can get my hands on my IMEI?
Thanks for any help.
Hey.Do you have "Samsung" account and stock rom ? If yes you can go to samsungdive.com and Seek your phone.

Do you have the original box that your S2 came in? The box usually has 2 stickers with the IMEI number on it.

Any more Info on how to do this? I had this happen with an SGS3 but it is an unlocked international version. Can I blacklist the phone?
As per above, call your carrier. If you don't know your IMEI, they should (given the phone communicates it to their network constantly) & they should be able to block your phone being used.

No rom should ever mess with the IMEI. Also with the proper backups you should not have to worry about it.
You can share ways to trouble shoot it happening but no, no tools or how to will be allowed.

Sir, this "should" is a very interesting word. Yes, no ROM should.. but there are ROMS and I am a victim of such a problem. Forget everything else when I myself am victim of XOLO Q800 Stock ROM which fails to recognise my IMEIs every single time as that needs to be pushed by SP Flash Tool.
The more interesting part is - so far as I have tried my luck - Backup in CWM also fails every-single-time whenever I tried to recover. However, this has helped me build a practice of backing up my ROM every Sunday (but for what?).
Now please tell me how can a noob user like me benefit from such a great resource like XDA in a case like this? For everything else, Yes, I do love XDA since 2008 ever since I joined as it is indeed an unparalleled resource.
I wish 'admin' gets my point, if not what I said in words. Please accept my sincere thanks for that in advance.

See here is the issue. Editing the IMEI in any way is illegal in most of the world and in so such, no threads about editing the imei are allowed on xda. My advise would be to search other forums on this. Other then formatting the whole device and flashing a stock ROM. That is the only advise I can give you. After reading this I researched it a bit my self and seems devices with this chipset are known to have this issue.
