Hello, I'm new to rooting. When I'm trying to use this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/official-european-lg-g5-h850-bootloader-t3363040 to root my lg h850, I keep getting an error message at step 9. Please could someone help me out?
By the way I use minimal ADB and fastboot and enter the commands into that.
Here is the error I get-error: cannot load 'twrp-3.0.2-0-h850.img'
Thanks.
Would highly appreciate a solution.
You must try "kingroot" app.
I've never heard of that before
I can pass all stages however at step 9 get an error
anyone?
I don't understand why I get an error at step 9, would appreciate help

Hey guys, I've been trying to get an initial root on my HOX+, it's my first time rooting anything and I've come across a bump in the road. I've been following this rooting guide from the HOX+ forum, but so far no one's responded to my request for help, so I decided I'd broaden my quest for answers here.
This is the initial post I made:
Help! I've followed the steps to the T, but I'm struggling with installing the recovery. I've unlocked my bootloader, downloaded the TWRPrecovery.img, put it in the right folder. As soon as I boot into the bootloader, my phone seems to disconnect from the computer. I still have fastboot usb selected, but my device no longer shows up under adb devices. When I try to >fastboot flash recovery TWRPrecovery.img, I get an error "error: cannot load 'TWRPrecovery.img' : Unknown error"
I've got the international HOX+ and a computer running Win7. Any assistance in the matter would be super appreciated.
i have followed a utube tutorial for the att m8 unlocking/root/twrp via mac (all i have access to), i am not super computer savy but usually can follow directions.(this tutorial was very step by step,i.e, dumbed down). unlocking went smooth but when trying to push SuperSu i get "error : file not found" & when i try to push twrp i get <waiting for device>. tried redownloading both files and a different port. anyone have a suggestion/thread/911 help line.lol.
would greatly appreciate any ideas.
thanks.:thumbup::what::banghead:

This relates to the recommendation in this post.
I followed this guide and got as far as step 25. I have used the "by-name" in the 'dd' 'of' path (instead of "byname").
The device appeared to go into a reboot and froze with the Oppo logo as described in step 26.
Unfortunately fastboot and adb cannot communicate with the device anymore. All I see is a battery charge symbol on the phone when pluged into the PC. Attempting to start the phone normally or in recovery briefly displays the logo and then nothing.
Please help.
you must have made a mistake while following the guide.
it worked for countless others.
check your pm.

Thanks for your help via PM. I'm not sure if my reply PM got through.
The instructions therein seemed to reference files not available in the zipped package, so I was unable to continue.
Trying a few other things I did manage to get some sort of communication via the fastboot command however attempting to unlock or flash twrp returns a permission error.
If I was able to reestablish adb comms I could try the steps again, but I still can't get that working.
Any thoughts?

The word document is outdated but that's what I got from the OEM.
But basically what you have to do to unbrick your device is to plug in your phone to your PC.
Install the Driver in the package. Start the exe file. Read the instructions.txt file. Start flashing.
Why you are not successful with the guide and others are. I can not tell you. I would carefully read the steps and look out for copy/paste errors.
I need help too
Sorry to jump on this but I am in the same situation could you PM me the fix please.
Thanks and respect in advance

Let's run through the check list:
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Is your phone on MTP mode when connected to your PC?
Did you enable USB Debugging in the Developer options?
Have you connected the phone to a different PC and tried the process there?
Keep in mind that the problem might be your PC in general. I've written several guides on how to root the LG V10 including performing the dirtycow exploit. Check on the thread and look at the guides to see if they can help you.

Good day!
I recently bought a XZ1 and I am trying to read myself into how to root this phone but I feel like most of these things are explained very hard to understand. For example, I have read about how the the camera wont work if the DRM keys get deleted.
So I tried to install the eXistenZ Pie ROM that works on Stock because the install instructions seemed easy to follow. The first issue i have had was with flashing firmware with Newflasher right at the beginning. Everytime I got into the flash mode the device manager showed me the phone as android with a exclamation mark so I tried to install the drivers manually. That worked but newsflasher doesent. I get the following error:
ERROR: GetOverLapped_out_Result: failed with error code 1 as follows:
Unzulõssige Funktion.
- Error write! Need nBytes: 0x18 but done: 0x0
nBytes[0x0]:
- Error writing command getvar:max-download-size!
End. You can disconnect your device when you close newflasher.exe

Everything is just so complicated to me and I have really spent a lot of time trying to figure things out but so much just doesent make sense to me, like which rooting instructions are even still uptodate and which are not.
Could someone please explain to me in a non complicated way for a stupid person like me how to root this phone? or atleast link me a instruction that does that? Thanks a lot!
