Hi everyone.
This is the quick remote pakage for LG G2 Mini ONLY. I've tested it with D620 only, but it should work for all models of LG G2 Mini.

Have you tried flashing the zip?
It seems to me that it isn't flashable because the contents of the zip are inside a folder.

This is not a kernel. A kernel is a boot.img file. The zip is an AnyKernel2 type that allows for anything to be flashed easily. You would have known that if this was your work. But clearly you took the patch zip made by Quarx. Nice of you to include proper credit thought (oh, wait...).
After inspecting 'your' zip for a while I see that the only change there is between the original and yours is the QuickRemote apk. Other then that, all the file hashes were the same. After decompiling the apk and comparing it to the original one that was also decompiled, I've seen some changes:
Code:
Files original/android/support/v4/app/FragmentManagerImpl.java and copy/android/support/v4/app/FragmentManagerImpl.java differ
Files original/android/support/v4/view/ViewPager.java and copy/android/support/v4/view/ViewPager.java differ

Now, I don't know if this is a newer apk or an older apk, but I do know that the familiar Quarx icon (a pony from my little pony) has been changed with Doraemon.
Whatever is happening here, I don't like it, and I feel that redistributing work of others is a spit to the face of the original maker.

To your question about this package is from another source, it's from a link that someone sent me through WhatsApp. I do not know the original source of this file. He just gave me the file without mentioning anything about AnyKernel2. If it is a redistribution, I apologize . I'll ask my friend for more information. I anyway just enhanced the file. Note that I have not replaced the Doraemon picture, I just changed the update script. (Like saying Hi/Welcome, it originally came with poor grammar).

If anyone is interested, here are the boot/shutdown animations from the OG JB ROM. Just copy and paste them into /system/media. (I'm pretty sure you have to be rooted)
The shutdown animation is first in the video just fyi.
I increased the speed to 30fps as the original 12fps was a little too slow for my taste but you can change it to whatever you like. To do this just change the "30" to something else in the desc.txt file. I'm not sure if there are minimum or maximum values.
768 1280 30p 1 0 part0p 0 0 part1

I use WinRAR so I don't even have to extract the files to change the speed. Just double click desc.txt, edit the above text, then save it. WinRAR will prompt you to save the modified file.

Just so you know (and maybe it is just me) but the video says it is private. So I couldn't see it.

Hi,
Nice work @johnbyebye
I have changed my Boot animation but not able to find the shutdown animation to replace it.
I am on PAC ROM.
I have changed the Power On Animation by replacing the file in "/system/media/bootanimation.zip".
I can not find the Shutdown.zip to be replaced. There is no such file in "/system/media/" nor there is any other directories under other than "/system/media/audio"
Thanks.

I own a verizon galaxy note 3, so i posted in that specific device thread but thought i'd post here too for anyone who uses this thread also. original post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-note-3/themes-apps/bootanimation-despicable-t2816056
ok guys, i wanna thank you for your bootanimations, especially the Marvels Avengers Sequence, and the most recently uploaded Marvel-DC=Clash from this thread by KachowPow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611238 ( INSTALLATION is the same process as the linked thread so if you are not sure how to put these on your phone, follow the above link for instructions)
after following the tutorials to try and make my own bootanimations, and much trial and error i finally got some to work if anyone is willing to test them out. Both with the Despicable Me theme, so i included the PowerOn.ogg file which is just a short instrumental clip of the theme song for the first movie. its in both the zip files IF you chose to use it, but its not necessary. So without further ado, i present to you my first 2 bootanimations ever.
(These previews are compressed and the actual bootanimation should look better)
First, i found these images minion superhero images from here: http://introspect37.tumblr.com/ (search "minion"). I did not create them, i just cleaned them up and made them all uniform in size for our purposes here. this is where i started, they were all still images so not much "animation" here but i still like it. i wish the background colors were all the same, but again, i was not the original creator of these artworks.

These 2 Despicable Me bootanimations are for Samsung TouchWiz roms and you need to have root and replace the files in /system/media/ and the sound file is in the /ui / folder in that directory. Back up the original files before replacing. You also need to change permissions of the files to rw-r-r and reboot.
I do have the original files to create a flashable zip but I'll work on that and test it on an old phone and post the links later.

Qmg2Png Tool is a simple app I made to easily convert QMG resources to PNG format for easy theming. This is just a simple wrapper tool that uses the Touchwiz Roms builtin image loader to load qmg resources and then saving them back as png images. So it means that it will only work on Touchwiz 4.4.4 and above like the Note 4.
I came up with the tool when I was porting the Sprint Note 3 4.4.4 update on my N9005 and I needed to test some ported apps from Note 4. I thought if the ROM can read qmg resources, perhaps it can save them also to a different format to ease the theming process.
So just download the app, install, and pick an apk from sdcard and the app will extract the qmg resources and convert them to png format and saving them in the QMg2Png folder in the sdcard. The output folder retains the folder structure of the extracted apk.

Resigning an apk may create problems since the random signature will not match the signatures in the rom itself.
There are a couple ways around this:
- I use apktool manually from a commandline so I copy stock androidmanifest.xml and meta-inf folder back into the recompiled file. This gives the file the same exact signature as the rest of the rom. It may be an old-school method but it's never failed me yet.
- Use a tool that pulls and reinserts these items for you automatically on recompile. (I think Multi-tool utility you quoted above is one that does this too)
@xperiacle,
Convert gets stuck on larger files. Like secsetting.apk file.
Which having many qmg files.
Is it bug or just i am having this problem.

Deleted the files and flashed the rom over cloudy g3 2.1, didnt boot just kept loading . Then tried flashing after complete wipe(including system) then the recovery says no os installed.
Using D802. Is it obligatory to flash it over stock kitkat?
how can this work? when only applying system.img the handy won´t have network.. without modem it can´t use data or is the kitkat modem compatible?

That will be just great.
We are waiting for this.
This is bull**** guys dont listen to this guy, lollipop cant boot on other model if it dosnt have aproparate kernel, so dont waste you time here and wait for lg to relese the firmware. Or you can try to wait for guys on vietnamies forum to relese 1.1 with moded kernels. And 1 more thread of the same **** mods pls close this.
Has anyone got it to boot on the D802 i have tried multiple times but i cant get it to boot after deleting all the files.
Please write the first topic in a understandable English....!
Work on D802?....
Figured some adventurous soul might have fun with this.....
Anyone who follows our thread in the development section of this forum probably has figured out that I am a huge fan of @topjohnwu and Magisk.
Our team maintains a Magisk ROM there. So I decided that I would try to show anyone interested how to make their own personal Magisk ROM that they can flash over the stock ROM provided by ZTE.
I'm not big on disclaimers. You flashed a custom recovery, Right?
This may or may not work on LOS based ROMs. I am an audiophile from way back, and I'm not gonna flash and test any of it until someone says," sound is fixed 100% " Not, "I can kinda get by w/ this or that".
It's why I bought the phone.
Attached to this post you will find two templates. ROM.zip, and badboyz.zip (I'm feeling lazy, didn't feel like messing w/ the updater script). Download them both, and unzip onto your desktop. Most of the editing will be done in the badboyz.zip. We will deal with that first. Here is what the file structure should look like:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In the first folder, \common, there is a file named post-fs-data.sh. This is where you put your build.prop edits. I have left two examples to demonstrate proper syntax. Note that:
Code:
persist.adb.notify=0
As it would normally appear in build.prop becomes
Code:
persist.adb.notify 0
Feel free delete the demonstrative entries when you are finished with your edits.
You also will find a \system folder. If you have an app you would like to add to your ROM as a system app, or a system app that you have edited, i.e. SystemUI or Settings this is the place. Magisk will overlay the apk included in the stock ROM. You can also add edited files to /etc, /media, etc. just make sure to maintain the proper file stucture
Next we move on to the config file:
1) Call it what you want w/ no spaces (you'll need this later)
2) Call it what you want- This prints out on the twrp screen when flashing the module
3) This is where you debloat. I left two examples in the template (as seen in the ss). Anything you don't want to run, show up in the drawer,or on all applications, list it here keeping the proper folder structure.
Again, these entries can be deleted. They are there for demonstrative purposes.
The module.prop file is pretty self explanatory (tbd= to be determined)
Do notice that the module id matches the one from the config file........(where I said you'll need this later)
You can change both of these. Just make them match.
The rest- you can put your mom's facebook page, donation link for the red cross- whatever you want
So all that is left is to zip all those files up, and your ROM module is done.
Now let's make a flashable. That Rom.zip that you decompressed-
Inside there is a data folder. Leave the Magisk.apk and the PHH su apk there. You will need those. Anything else you have that you want to add throw it in there. Teeter.apk, Netflix whatever.
Then put your rom module (should be named badboyz.zip) into the magisk folder w/ the magisk.zip.
Now zip the whole shabang up and flash it over a bone stock ROM w/ a stock kernel.
Please follow THIS guy and donate what you can. Android will be a better place w/ him

Super info, thank you. Can Masquerade be integrated to allow Substratum theming?
HERE is some detail I have found, but I don't understand exactly what to do.
Is there a working nougat kernel for a2017G knocking around which patches for Safety net? The ones i found only worked with A2017U, so WiFi and a few other things don't work

This should work for whatever ROM/kernel you are currently on.
Thank you for this amazing post

Maybe a bit late: this https://xtremetricks.net/theme-stock-android/ seems to indicate stock ROM can be themed with substratum. If that is so, then you could include substratum in your personal magisk ROM.
Will this work on any android phone?
