when Im in marshmallow (cm 13 based) will it drain my battery like a rocket? if yes what are apps that can minimize the draining of my battery? (all i know is greenify)
can you also recommend some android 5 and android 6 roms which i can use that is fast and stable and perfect for pokemon go especially?
ps.
im still on 4.4.4 kk dirty unicorns and its fast but some minor bugs and im thinking of flashing a new one any recommendations?
The officially cyanogen mod 13 doesnt drain your battery much. But low battery draining and fast is a opposite. I recommend the official cm13.

I've been using cm11 kitkat for almost a year now and I decided to update to the latest android version. But when I use cm12, my phone overheats and the result is bad battery life. I don't have this problem while using custom tw roms like blekota and s5 sensation. So my question is... does any of you guys have this problem? Maybe it's a hardware problem, but I surely doubt it.
I know that you can't compare roms here on xda but which one (cm12) have YOU had succés with.
Thanks, rob

@Roobwz: saw your post in Blisspop. I never had this heating on Nameless, Slim, Euphoria, crDroid, Paranoid. But if you search for this item, you'll find more posts… Maybe it's (again) caused by various hardware components. Best SOT and smoothness I get on Euphoria & Boeffla 4.0 alpha6 (zzmoove, battery plus), so try it. And if you surf on Chrome, try a lite browser, too. Good luck.
Is there any stable/fast/battery friendly custom rom for this device avaialable?
I'm just tired to reflash every single rom i find just to find out 1-2 days later is buggy as crap, sucks your battery dry or it has random freezes.
Slimsaber 4.4.4 by fusionjack is what you want. If you require to use apps like Whatsapp or Skype, you should try Slimkat instead.
problem is i already am on slimkat 4.4.4 (latest official stable build) . it's not good. it sucks the battery dry , phone gets very hot and I get random lock-ups.
slimsaber has problems with whatsapp and skype?

SlimSaber has got problems with Skype. I guess you should try out Neat ROM or Nameless ROM, for they have had the greatest support. If you want battery life, then try out SlimSaber for it has optimizations.
Regards.

Omni 5.1.1 is the stablest and fastest rom ever. But terrible battery life EVER (sometimes 1h sot, sometimes 3and half. Only your phone knows )
Got my S2 just two months ago, as a spare phone.
So i tried almost all major roms avaiable. Slimbeam, Slimkat, NeatROM etc during these two months
there are some major issues with battery drain or minor random freezes, no GPS, extremely laggy Youtube playback.... I cant even remember all roms that i tested, but I'm sure that all of them were in the first two pages of Galaxy S2 Original Android Development or Android Development.
Just go with Cyanogen 10.1.3., works best for me, no freezes, battery life is good (yet slightly worse than stock rom, as you would expect). Youtube playback is fine, maybe a little bit laggy at the beginning of playback but I'm used to iPhone 100% smoothness so maybe its normal. Its just 4.2.2. tho. CM 10.1.3. works for everyday use, almost like a stock Samsung ROM.
No 4.4.4. that I tested was not 100% stable, all of them had some issues that I could not stand, like battery drain, loosing audio playback, GPS problems and more. Dont get me started on 5.1.1. builds...
Here's a stable Cm Rom, haven't tried, but if we can trust the "stable" status...

So, after 1 1/2 month with Android 7 for our G2, what's your favorite Nougat-ROM?
All ROMs

This is hard. Many versions have issues depending on the build. For my d800, the only rom N rom which has fixed the boot issue is the official Lineage mod - which never enters deep sleep at that point in time. On the S2's though, I find crdroid offers superior performance and battery life.
T-Mobile D801: For me the best and most stable right now is AICP. It has working hotspot, good battery life and the usual customizations (pulse, etc.). I had to flash Pixel Launcher separately.
A close second was AOSP Extended (using crazysuperkernel) but hotspot did not work for me (not sure if ROM or KERNEL was responsible).
@Jan Philipp: Whats yours?

VS980
crDroid v2.0
Lambda Kernel
D802 - COSMIC OS 1.3 with Built in Snapdragon Camera for someone who look for better quality camera than LOS based, you should try this ROM. but there is no LED Customisation on this ROM

Resurrection Remix. Sorry for the late answer.
AospExtended V3.1
Fine for now
For now it's Mokee.
Hi all
What is the process of getting 7.1.1 on phone.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using xda premium
I used AOSP Extended, RR M, now using cDroid. All the same, no difference. All have same random bluetooth turn off problem, same performance, same battery life. I hated them all, but cannot give up AOSP experience. Also I hate the default DPI so I cannot go back to stock.
I don't know how much of a hassle to flash both xposed and magisk to play pokemon go. I may try if and when I get pissed off because whenever I try to *do* something the phone lags.
Now that it's been awhile what's the best setup on T-Mobile d801
LineageOS with microG.
Is there a nougat ROM where QuickWindow and LED at the back are working?
I don't mind if the performance goes down cause...let's be honest this thing hardly lags. I just need a strong as hell battery life from this device. I've tried going Pixel Experience CAF with Sphinx Kernel underclocked on OnDemand. I just don't feel that it's enough for me. I don't wanna change phones cause Poco is Poco and it's the best for the price. So recommend me or give me tips for the best battery settings for this device.
I'm on miui 10.3 (9.3.1) beta with Sphinx Kernel 2.5
Undercloked and all the battery saving stuff activated. Also with tasker (WLAN and 2g/3g/LTE) profiles.
I'm fine with it for the moment. I'll watch the next few days how it works with all tweaks.
after trying eu and miuipro roms.....the best battery performance is the "old" stock miui 9.6 oreo.....
OOS everything stock
i've been using LOS 16 + FrancoKernel recently and with a few tweaks was able to get about 12 hours SOT out of my poco f1
use the FK kernel manager app and apply the battery lab settings (25% cpu underclock - gpu underclock - battery saver profile) also disable one core from each cluster ... i didn't experience any lag at all with these settings and the battery life was excellent...
The best battery friendly setup is to turn the phone off.

The best battery I had was on the last oreo update which gave a consistent result of almost 12 hours of Screen On Time

Hi, can you point me to which specific version of MIUI are you talking? Would like to try that one out.
Thanks.
Official Nightly LineageOS Build, everything stock with limited customizations, install Sphinx Kernel for best battery saving kernel, underclocks CPU and GPU.
A clean LOS or pixel experience with snoozed GMS services, underclocked chips and blocking stupid wakelocks. Thats how i got 12hrs+ SOT.
Oh and everything is dark with substratum

What's the sense of dark themes on a LCD panel when it comes to battery life?

It's not lcd, it's ips-lcd. Ips stands for in plane switching (backlight) so, here you go.
But of course power consumption is higher than amoled with pure black (#000000) pixels.
Hey guys, I'm looking for a rom that has the best possible battery life. Doesn't matter if it's slow or lacks some major features, even KitKat is fine. So what would be the best possible rom with just battery life in mind according to you?
I'm probably gonna go for dotOS. Is the battery life any good? Or is resurrection remix Oreo better?
Stock rom, based on MIUI 9 China rom. Idle drain overnight hardly 2-3 % for 3 year old Mi Pad. Only downside it's based on Kitkat.
But doesn't matter to me, as I use it for playing PUBG and watching YouTube and normal browsing.

Original KitKat Miui indeed has the best battery life and I would use it as well but you can't double tap to fast forward in Youtube with android 4.4 which is something I need...
Go for Lineage OS 14.1 by Artemka. Battery backup is good. Using it currently. LOS 15.1 has bad battery backup.
