[Q] Screen Prolems (Colors are not shown correctly) Fixed

Hello Guys,
I have just received my G-Tab and I only even start it two times, first time before applying the screen protector and the second time after applying it, I left the protector to dry all night long as per instructions and left the charger attached to the tab, in the morning it reached 98% and the protector was good to go (it is a wet screen protector).
After navigating on the stock ROM, and playing angry bird (I have the woot version), I left it a while and then next time I checked it, screen was showing very disturbing colors, I feel like there are missing colors on the screen.
I hadn't installed anything yet, didn't even used any custom ROM it is still with its original ROM.
I have tried to reset the device but the problem persist.
Navigation on the Recovery console showing correct colors but as soon as I exit it, back to its current state, showing very anoying colors even from the first screen of Viewsonic logo!!!!
Need help guys, I paid double its actual price to get it here to me in Egypt (
Even replacement is a very bad choice to me...
Very disappointing!!!!!!!!
Still waiting an answer guys?
Should I jump and open the tab and check the video cable or is it a software problem?!!
OHHHH My God!!
I was trying the “Love Tab” method described in this Post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878624&page=2
Look into post #20.
And YES, it appears that is the solution…
Oh My God, how would that be true what a QA they have at VS….
It gets back to where it was now, the faulty colors, the same time I’m writing this post, I think I will need to open it and check the cable directly (WTF, I have just received it, out of the box)..
Bye Bye ViewSonic, you have just lost a loyal customer!!
Will appreciate if someone helps me to decide to open it myself or ship it from Egypt to US and let them do it…
Fixed..
I have attached a photo of the cable as soon as I managed to remove the board a little bit, as you can see from the image the cable wasn't that loose but I see it was some kinda twisted so I straighten it a little bit and pressed hard on both side of the cable and made sure that they are correctly aligned and connected and voila, screen now is BACK..
I would say that I doubt that my tablet wasn't that new, as I felt when I was unscrewing the board, it was already open I think it was returned fixed in quick and put it back as new, Thanks VS that would be the last time I buy anything from them.....

Dead red pixel

Last night I noticed one. It sits at the bottom of the landscape screen almost next to the clock. The weird thing is that it is visible only with a bright background, or if I put a bright widget above it. Does this last thing means problem with that section of the screen in general? Tne tab is new. Would you return it just for that? Is there any danger of this spreading to other pixels?

Hi
It's not dead,it is just stuck. On PC there are solutions to solve it (google stuck pixel). On Android I think some app that change status of pixel a lot in short period of time should work also. Like watching some Anime with lots of flashing in the region of this pixel or something similar.
Hi!
If you're lucky, as the above poster said. Try to "kick-start" the pixel by watching/running something that rapidly changes between different bright colors, such as red, green and blue.
After a few sessions of that, you might be lucky to get it working again!
If it is dead tho, different companies have different "dead pixel policies". I can assue you that it needs more than 1 to get it replaced tho.
Good luck!

Red Marks On Screen

for some reason my nexus one has a small red mark on the screen. The red mark only shows on a black wallpaper and not on any of the others i checked for dead pixels or stuck pixels there are none. I tried taking a photo and a screenshot to check if it will show on the picture and the result was negative it did not show.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? after several days of searching the closest answer i could find to this problem is this thread here
Solutions i have tried so far are:
1) changing HBOOT from stock to custom and custom to stock
2) flashing different roms
3) factory reset
4) display checkers
5) photos and screenshots
any kind of help would be great
Well, if it doesn't show on a screenshot, you're looking at a low level hardware issue, or burn in on the display.
Either way, service center, as the previous poster said.
Alternatively, you could look in to replacing the screen itself (It's most likely the screen itself and not the graphics chip *most likely*) on your own, or through a third party.
If you're under warranty though, service center all the way.
thanks for your replies i will try to get my hands on another screen and see if the problem will be fixed

Screen Overlay

Is anyone else noticing that you can see ghost images behind every screen?
Is there a fix for this?
TIA

It is called screen burn, there is a thread dedicated to this problem. Search for screen burn on this forum!
I'll check that out but how could it happen and this is the 3rd one I've had and they all did it. That's why i assumed it had something to do with the screen overlay.

life is this with V10, all have the same issue...mine only have 9 months since i buy it and have ghost images since 2 months from today and no solution...the only solution is send it to LG Repair Center and they change it, but mine lose the guarantee when i unlocked the bootloader so...i will not buy the screen since this is a known problem with V10 display.
better keep it going cool and avoid high levels of brightness only when is needed and avoid playing games since that warm up the phone and the screen will show ghost images. Then when it happens lock your phone, shut down the screen for 3/4 minutes and the ghost is gone...you need to do it everytime you see a ghost image and have trouble with them.
i dont bother with that...i love the phone anyway, when the screen die by itself i change it for another, but now let it rock even with ghost images.
Sofwtare side has nothing (mod or app) that can fix your problem...its the display problem (hardware).
Mine has heavy permanent ghosting that appears after minutes of use when the phone has rested overnight. Though I can prevent any ghosting from becoming visible by installing "Bluelight Filter for Eye Care" and set the filter to the black color with an opacity of just 3% (hardly even affects the maximum brightness). Stopping the display from showing the whitest of colors prevents the ghosting to apperar no matter how high brightness you have or for how long. At least on my unit. So now my screen is permanently perfect instead.

Thank you. I'll give that a try. Mine isn't that bad and sometimes doesn't show at all.

I had just did a factory reset and it's actually gone this time. I'm sure it will come back though.
I've been using v10 for a year now this image retention/ ghosting is really annoying but there's actually a solution to it by using screen filter.
if you apply the filter as soon as you turn on your phone after a while, when there are no temporary burns on screen. They won't come back if you keep the filter on.
I use blue light filter but I'm sure every filter will work even if you keep the filter at low opacity for example at 20%, it'll still work.
Give it a try.
and one more thing if the filter is on you might get an error while giving permissions to apps. so you have to turn off the filter when you get "screen overlay detected" error.

Screen burn in / image retention ?

I'm crossposting this from the g8 stylus forum -- if this isn't allowed, please let me know, but as this devices forum has more active members and posters, and the devices internals are practically identical, I thought I'd give it a chance.
Hello all -- has anyone else been experiencing screen retention? I've had this phone *brand new* , not refurbished or used, or a little but over 3 months now, and it has noticable burn-in from the status bar.
I rarely use this phone outdoors / max brightness, and I was wondering if anyone else experienced this, because I'm disappointed from how 3 months of use can easily show on a brand new phone. It's much more pronounced than my 2 year old Moto G7 power.
Do I have a dud, or something wrong with my screen? I have a protector, a good case, and have kept my device well cared for. I'm considering sending it back to Motorola if i manage to unroot it and lock the bootloader back up.
A photo is attached here, it's more noticable in real life so I apologise for the poor quality.
Did this happened over night or over a period of time? Also, is it possible to show another picture with the whole phone? I'm having trouble grasping what is happening to your screen.
I had the same thing happen on the 30th with my g power. Ghost images of the top bar and a large rectangle in the middle of the screen. I turned off my screensaver when charging and disabled display peek for now. The retention has gone away but I have no idea what caused it. I never use full brightness and usually only have the screen on for 10 minutes or less.
i have the same issue with my moto g8 power (model 3), i use it almost always on full brightness since may 2020, sometimes it will happen, sometimes won't
same here mot g7 2 min with facebook and boom
