So I bricked my MXIII s802 amlogix 2GB using the usb burning tool to send a stock rom over and now I can only get the box to turn go from no light to red light to no light. no hdmi output. no indication of anything else happening at all. usb ota will not detect anything at all. I am at a loss at what to do. and i cant seem to find anyone else with the same issue except one random youtube video of a very disappointed person that received no help. at this point I am willing do anything it takes preferably soldering last due to still having some assurances warranty on it I may be able to use through amazon.
Please anyone help.
I know I am not providing many symptoms but that is because that is all there is to go on. the box is literally a 1/4 red led night light at this point.

Since yesterday, after plug off from loading, my HD2 (German t-mobile ROM 1.77, Radio 2.07) doesn't switch of screen. In the past week, I haven't changed anything or installed any apps.
By pressing 'off' key, screen becomes black and will be revoked with screen lock after few seconds. When screen light gets low after predfined time, it will come back will full light after few seconds.
I've tried hard reset, installed stock ROM from t-mobile (include radio ROM) - nothing changed.
Does anyone can help?

I've seen this issue periodically here on the boards. From what I've read from the users who experience this issue, it is likely to be hardware related. One way to test this is to turn off the screen when the device is plugged in (charging)? If the screen will stay off when plugged in then I have some bad news.
The only solution I have seen is to send the device in to HTC for repair. Sorry.
I believe it has something to do with the micro usb being defective.
Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Look at the end of the thread for the reason it is happening, and you will need to have it repaired or replaced.
Device has been repaired/changed by t-mobile Germany without any reservations within 48 hours.
I just brought my new archos 101 home from the post office. Turned it on, set it up and then the LCD crapped out.
It is displaying like 8 colours and is really dark.
The TV Out seems to work ok via the HMDI cable but the actual LCD is like the display driver didn't load or something (reminds me of what used to happen when you put a new video card in windows 98).
Anyone who has an archos seen this? Please tell me it's not DOA because I will likely kill someone.

Looks pretty dead to me. Like squirlier said... reboot.
If the splash screen is the same as the screenshot, then (I reckon) you can be pretty sure it's dead. If it's not but it dies again while inside android, you could try flash the firmware again.
Never come across anything like this before though, so I am only working of guesses.
The splash screen is all white background with black text and a blue "your".
Will try the reboot when I get home from work in the morning.
Not looking forward to sending it back since I only just got it.
Did a reboot, no luck. Still the same problem as before.
Guess it is time to contact archos.
Looks like a loose connection to me. But I wouldn't recommend voiding your warranty to crack it open and check it out. Better to send it back.
Well it's officially dead.
Sent an email to archos and they have responded by telling me to ship it back to them.
This is my second Cricket smartphone in 6 months and both have developed the same issue:
The screen glows with no visible image rather than displaying anything. The touchscreen still works while this is going on as I can answer phone calls. I found that by inserting the usb plug, with some light jiggling, the screen will sometimes briefly appear. To begin troubleshooting, I opened the phone and re-soldered the usb contacts. This was of no noticeable affect. I believe the problem lies with the ribbon that is seated right beside the usb port and seems to run under the screen. Can anyone tell me what the proper name of this is, whether it can be replaced, where to find a replacement, or give any suggestions as to a quick fix?

I have a question and I am hoping someone with some electrical/software knowledge can chime in and help me out.
I have an RK3066 based android Mercedes Double din unit and the RED LED from the RGB will not work. Blue and Green work fine it is only Red that does not work.
It used to work fine and then all of a sudden I enter the car one day and it's green, (I use a green and red mix to create orange which is the default Mercedes color)
Yesterday it magicall started working again after having not worked for 2 weeks and today it is gone again.
Green slider works
Blue slider works
Red slider makes no color changes and if green and blue are all the way down and red is all the way up the lights are off.
Can this be a resistor or it it software based, I know the kernel can control the LEDs and so on but I am leaning towards hardware related. Maybe a broken SMD resistor these Chinese units are so poorly designed.
Anyways if anyone has some info, it will be greatly appreciated.

Same thing here....blue and green work but not red. Stopped working...came back...then went out again. It started after updating in march. I had an older version and wanted the standby timer. RK3066 800x480 KLD unit. I've tried reverting the mcu. Switched to the newest mcu. Reflashed rom. Which actually controls the rgb's?
So far from what I can tell is that the GPIO pin goes to the led resistor then to the led itself and I believe it is controlled via a voltage difference. for example 3v red 3.15 blue, 3.25 green (not actual figures)
What is confusing is that it came back for me then went out again, the dash is extremely hard to pull apart for the Mercedes, not to mention I have a full blown system in here and will have to remove quite a bit of product before getting to the headunit. I was hoping someone with higher software and hardware knowledge would chime in, but it seems like we are on our own. A lot of people on these boards will says "open it and try on your own" I am not sure but I believe that it is 1 resistor for all three colors, unless it is 3 individul leds which would require 3 resistors.
Mine also went out in March (I made no Rom or MCU changes prior to it going out) which is odd then it came back in april, can some software based date cause it to not functions? or can it be that just the red led is failing (defective).
I doubt that it is a resistor since the other two colors work fine and from what i suspect it should be 1 led (RGB) and 1 resistor for the (RGB) led.
Hopefully someone will let us know if there is a remote possiblity that it could be software based, if I was 100% certain that it is hardware based I will and would have already pulled out the unit.
Sounds to me like an intermittent hardware issue - a bad connection somewhere. More likely to be on a connector than a bad PC board trace or cold solder joint.

Do you know if the unit is individual LEDs or is it one rgb led
If it is one led then it should have 1 resistor per led and in which case none of the colors should work.
Could it possibly be kernel based or the rk3088 board/chip itself?
I will pull mine out tuesday night and take a look at the leds to see what the are and get some pics. I ordered a rk3188 SoM and will also be changing over to that rom.

Well I opened it up and almost didn't get it working again. The rgb leds have four legs ground and power for each of the color. My camera sucks so no pics but when changing colors in the elements screen if I select red the blue leds light up. Selecting green does green. Selecting blue goes dark. So I'm really thinking that it's software related.

That happens if you have MCU 2.55 with the sound enhancement MCU version 2.22 works correctly.
if your headunit is still open, is there anyway you can send me the picture of the board and resistors, even if it a horrible picture, its still better than nothing

Sorry didn't save them. There weren't resistors next to each led but there was a group of them on the other side of each board so a bit of tracing would need to be done to track each one down. For the mcu my unit is KLD and i've tried every version listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61291848&postcount=14139 and none changed the way the elements act
I bought a new tablet and the specs were great but there was a problem with it. It kept freezing every now and then. I talked to the seller and he insisted that do an upgrade which I refused to do because it causes a lot of problems. They refused to negotiate anything until I do the upgrade so I did it. Everything went well when I burnt it but once I put the sd in the tablet and the screen turned white then started fading into black around the edges until it all became black. After a while it turned off so I took the sd out and turned it on and I've heard the sound that plays whenever I turn it on but the screen was white and then black just before.
The tablet is on I'm sure of it but the screen doesn't show anything. It's not off though. I mean there's a light coming out of it. I tried the power and volume buttons but when it turns on the screen doesn't show anything.
When I connected the tablet to the computer it was normal. My previous data was deleted which means that the flashing worked I think because it looked like it was formatted. Everything is fine except for the screen.
I'm sorry for the long post but all the other solutions I found were related to dropping the phone or something and even the ones related to the firmware were different. I hope you can help me with this specific case. I can upload photos or a video if that would help.
