Hey Guys,
Im selling my phone and did a factory reset and want to do a full wipe of my internal storage before selling my phone. I want to do a format where someone wont be able to download a file recovery app and look at all my photos, etc. Basically id like to find an app (and i dont care if it takes ages to run) that will fill my storage with random data and do a format.
Thanks!!!

ok thanks ill test it on my S2 and get back
ok i tried what you sent on, and although this does a wipe. It doesnt seem to write to all sectors to ensure the internal storage is fully wiped. I did a full wipe using CWM and then used a program called diskdigger and it was still able to pick up photos that were "deleted" from my device.
Can anyone advise an app or program that will fully wipe my internal storage (fills each sector with random data)
Any reply for Ricochet69? I am also having the same question.
yep
mount usb storage, run any eraser type programs available to you on the mounted drive (like eraser.heidi.ie). In a bind you could also encrypt it using truecrypt and choose the method that will format all areas with random data. You could also pull from /dev/random and pipe it to the card to pseudo-wipe it (something like dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/whateveryoursdcardmountis bs=1M)
I've found that flashing a stock rom and making a factory reset + wipe cache + wipe dalvik prior to that does the trick. Dunno if it's what you are looking for, though.

Use this Android_Revolution_HD_Super_Wipe_Galaxy_S3.zip. then install new rom from external sdcard.

and what about the internal memory? Is factory reset enough or not finally?

No, it was not.
So I've been using SanDisk Ultra 64 GB sdcard since I bought my Max about 5 months ago. Recently I've been switching between CM11, NuSense and Stock Deodexed ROMs. I have used TWRP for the most part. Yesterday after flashing the new crDroid ROM, I tried to restore CM11 (of which worked) but afterwards my sdcard would not mount. It kept causing the whole system to crash and reboot. I attempted mounting in recovery to no avail. I tried using CWM- negative results. Now it doesn't even register in the phone at all and even causes my computer to become very slow while reading it. It will not mount in Ubuntu 12.04 but mounts in Windows 8.1. I've tried copying the content- negative results. Anyone experience this before.
I used to own a Droid Charge which had sdcard corruption issues and one person in the forum said the HTC devices can become corrupt when the "S-Off" becomes corrupted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1917058
Any thoughts?
Yes, it has happened twice. Once on my 64 & 128 card which are Scan disk branded. I didn't get system crashing. I just had to format. I had the phone s-off since December and just experience it last month for the first time.
I lost backups and everything the first time but then started using Drop sync but with drop sync and my move to KitKat I have to move some of that info to internal and once backup done delete duplicate info.
I haven't experience it again on either card so not sure why it happen. I wiped the phone starting with fresh install after the first case but not the second. I haven't experience it after a format. I even used the phone for formatting the second time computer the first.
64GB External sdcard wont mount; corrupted

This problem also happened on my One MAX three times...
I am using stock ROM.
I have to format my 32g card three time......
so, I learned, data backup is very important.
hi guys, my English is not very good, but I will try to ask you a question to help
I have a galaxy s3.
16 GB internal memory, 5 GB partition reserved for the system
There are 11 gb usable space(stored pictures, music and applications).I erased a few pictures from this area.
I have android 4.1.2 software fix for that, but I gave my phone for repair and the new 4.1.2 ROM has been installed.
and then I did completely fill the usable space(11gb)
and I'll ask you a few questions to help
1)I hope my pictures which deleted maybe can be free(such as /cache) area in 5 gb(can not be used)
Is it possible that something?
2)Does the software(android) is always installed same memory partition?what is pit file? and emmc chip?
3)ıf ı do root ,how much memory ı can scan?(11 or 16 gb)
4)if ı will scan diskdigger after doing root,How much memory scans(11 gb or 16 gb)?
5)İs data recoverable after have make wipe data /factory reset and wipe cache partition?
6)What installed 5 GB area can not be used ?I think OS does not take up that much space. Is there a free space in this area(5gb)?
I think 3rd party data recovery software can not recover one times overwritten data?(RECUVA,ANDROİD DATA RECOVER)
Is it true that?
7)CAN I RECOVER MY VİDEO AND PİCTURE ?
Thank you in advance to everyone who helped
Search and read for the hundreds of other posts, you can dump the entire partition to your pc and then use software to scan.
Your files are almost certainly gone, I've not heard a single person who got anything back.
I checked it. Are not same status
Help please
I have a samnsung S5 Plus with Lineage built nightly, the phone restarts quite often, (it could be a problem with the touch, or heating ?). That is why I don't keep the back cover on so I can remove the battery when it gets in that crazy loop and I did that often. (I'm using this phone only at home, so the battery doesnt really fall unexpectedly)
This time I was browsing the internet and tried to post an ad with captha, the phone got quite hot, and I turned it off. Its possible that I removed the battery before it went completely off, and that could be an issue if Android was writing something to disk. But I'm using the card as external storage (no apps installed on it) and I dont understand if the system was writing anything to disk exactly at that moment. Or if there could be any other problem?
When I turned my phone on the microSD card (1 year old, barely used) is not recognized ("the disk inserted was not readable by this computer), both my phone and my macbook ask to format or initialize it.
I don't know what data I lost, and dont know if any data could be recovered, but I'd like to know what you think.
You could recover it but it would be very hard to. I think the SD card is corrupted
I tried data recovery software but no file found, I dont know if I should insist to try other software.
I don't remember if I had important files, there were 15GB, but a lot of backups and install files.
Now I trie dto see if I can format the card but thats no longer an option
"Unable to write to the last block of the device"
I even tried to use some tricks to write zeros first and then to format but that does not work.
Its the first memory that I ever break. And it was new. I dont know if its my fault or its manufacturer's fault...
