Well then. Call the cops, there isn't any other way you're getting your phone back.
Hop onto your computer and look up "plan b" on the browser Android market. Follow the instructions there and best of luck!

If you can't get it back make sure your network locks the phone so its no longer usable for the person who stole it.
And to anyone reading this thread you should download security tracking apps such as seekdroid, androidlost, lookout and the likes. It can be wiped through recovery but to someone who does not know what they are doing there are more chances of recovering your lost / stolen device.

Android lost can be installed post losing your phone. Provided the purp hasn't already wiped it and deleted your google account
Hadnt u got an antivir? they have a feature for stolen phones
Immediately call your network provider and give them the IMEI number of the phone. They will lock it out and it cannot be used unless you recover it and then they will unlock it.
hope you had it insured as well..get on to the cops and report it. sorry for your loss but please i hope you had it insured
You can try to log on to android market and download " Wheres my droid" to the stolen phone and then just send a text message to your stolen phone from another phone. Just write " GPS My Droid" and send it to your phone. Good luck!
hello.
somebody also stole my phone and my account registered is only a google account. i tried to login to samsungdive.com to track it. it displayed a map yesterday but now it suddenly hanged and no response. i think he/she resetted the phone.
now i have a question.
is it possible for the thief to change the imei number? because i am thinking to report it to samsung to block it (if they will help).
any suggestions guys?
Phone provider will do it if they want, not Samsung.

Avast Mobile Security is a free app which has an 'anti-theft' function. I doubt it will prevent theft, but it certainly has some useful looking features once your device has been stolen (remote tracking, sirens, lockouts, remote wipes etc). It can also survive a hard reset if you're rooted and install it in the root.
Too late if your phone has already been stolen unfortunately, but worth investigating for those who are sitting up and taking notice.
I suggest if you wrote the IMEI, to give it a samsung center and let them do everything possible to recover it .. keep us updated on the news ..
ok, so i lost my phone a while back and got a replacement for it... same phone and everything... well i find it and charge it and all my old stuff is stil on there... so i do a factory data reset and the majority of my stuff is STILL on there... ok, so i go ahead and RSD flash it with 198_7, hoping that this would do the trick... my info is STILL on there...
i've already tried removing the account from the accounts app in my list, but it won't let me since it doesn't get service... does anyone know anything that i can do to remove my stuff so i can pass the phone on to whoever???
Put it on Wifi?
Oh and you won't be able to do much with that phone. Highly likely since you reported it missing the ESN is locked down. Got your self a Wifi enabled MP3 Player now.

in order for it to be connected to any hotspot, its got to have service... i've tried that one too and it keeps telling me "ERROR" every time i hit the WiFi button...
Is your phone unlocked and has a custom rom? Because it sounds like you are on a phone with a fried wifi radio or your on a rom that was having issues with the wifi drivers like an old joker blur rom but if your unlocked and have cwm just wipe everything

nope... nothing special about it... i did have it rooted and locked... that's about it... i already flashed the stock 198_7 on it to unroot it and back to factory settings... only thing i'm trippin on is the fact that some of my stuff still remains on this damn thing... idk why the "factory data reset" doesn't want to work either... goes through the motions but no results...
Hello,
As for passing it on to a friend, Metro PCS used to not check for bad ESN's when Activating Phones, but this might have changed now that they are selling Cell Phones. That indeed does not make sense that your information is still on there after doing a Factory Reset. I suppose you could connect it to your Notebook and delete all Files with any Personal Information.
Cheers,
JJ
How are you doing your hard reset? A hard reset erases all your data. I think booting into recovery, pushing the volume up and down keys at the same time, and then selecting "wipe data/factory reset" would do it right.
Undertstand that you also would need to do stuff with the phone programming - your phone number and some other account information would be in there. when I got my phone (used), Spring had me do something to wipe everything including the programming information. Of course I didn't take notes, so I don't know how to do it again.
This is probably a dumb question, but have you removed your sd chip?

Hello guys,
I know that it is probably the best place to share my issue. I have an HTC Leo (HD2) with dorimanx ROM. I have been using it for 6 months already (with Android). Yesterday, while my phone was charging, I have noticed some suspicious activity, my phone was bugging and freezing, didn't want to run applications, was very slow. Then it just froze up and I've done a battery pull. I thought there is something wrong with my phone. But, I have been mistaken. After an hour, my phone was still charging & was lying on the table next week while I was on computer. It just unlocked itself, then went to youtube, launched some video, went to related, comments, then launched another video. My phone was using mobile 3g network. then it went & turned on wifi, there was no available wifi spots. after that it went to cpu tuner, changing the min and max frequencies at the same time, I mean holding both scrolls of min and max freq and lowing them. For example, I can hold both min and max scrolls changing them, only one by one. After that it tried to add a new google account. Then I have just turned off my device again with battery pull. So, as for now I am not using any internet and my device is not getting messed up, at least, I have not noticed. I have erased all history and cookies in the browser. I have a 2 step verification on google, which is linked to this phone. I don't know what's happening. PLEASE HELP ME GUYS, I have though ab factory reset. How can I make it without reinstalling the dorimanx ROM itself. Waiting for your replies and advices, as I AM REALLY FREAKED UP! Thank you ALL!:silly::silly::silly::silly:

Your neighbors, or your friends, They will always stay by your side.
I am actually using CyanogenMod 7, dorimanx ROM. I have reflashed my device a couple of times, but never done factory reset. What will happen after factory reset? Will I keep my ROM configuration, will all my apps be erased? Cauze when it comes to reflashing - it is really difficult, I again to read all the posts, create SWAP and many many things, that I don't want to do again. This ROM was working perfectly till that sh*t happened yesterday.

You can set up an unlock password (you will type when you unlock the phone)
or if you use icecream sandwich, Use face unlock.
Of course, they will stay by my side, but at that time they were not there to take their phone & catch the action going on on my phone. I have now turned my mobile network on & I am prepared, wish me good luck catching the action so I can show this to all of you.

All the best & do a factory reset. Flash a ROM of your choice & do not restore any apps from the current.

I have got a video, 5 mins of suspicious activity, here comes the question, how can I post a video here?
You have a ghost in your house!
But nah, Did u have bluetooth on?
I'd be willing to bet its the charger. I've heard of this happening before and it was a faulty USB cord/port. Try a different cord if you can and see if the problem persists. I know it sounds crazy but I've heard the exact same issue before and that was the problem. There is no such "hack" sophisticated enough to control your phone like that.

They control my phone completely. A factory reset from the phone, a hard reset by holding the buttons and a reset done by typing in the number code all dont erase the hackers stuff. Its like they took over the stock firmware of my phone or something. How can I completely erase everything from this phone? Or do I just have to throw this thing away now? They've also similarly took over my Asus Transformer tablet.
Can anyone help me?

Lol, if you're serious, the perfect solution would be to flash a stock firmware over the existing one.
Sent from my GT-P6200 using xda app-developers app
First off, what's hacked and how do you know you've been hacked? Then you have to find out how they hacked you. Was it thru an app? Thru Wi-Fi? Did you login on a false webpage like the common Facebook hack?
If you believe you've been hacked change ALL your passwords to EVERYthing. Even Wi-Fi passwords. Make sure you do it from a different device or pc. preferably using https. Then wipe everything possible. Internal, external storage, cookies etc.....

How do you flash the stock firmware? I dont know anything about this stuff..
An example of how they control my phone is if I download an anti-virus app, they turn off it's monitoring and give it permissions to send texts, access my personal data, make phone calls, etc.

Ref 440 - I applaud your faith in your fellow man. That is rare in today's post-naiveté world, and should be treasured. But as far as this story goes, either incredibly incompetence or lying is involved... But NOT hacking. Just not consistent. Hacking can sometimes be hard to spot, and then only through exhaustive analysis. If the OP's story is even half true I suspect the case really involves some really dumb action that does NOT involve hacking.
But frankly, I got bigger problems. After the upgrade to stock 4.1.2 I'm getting a series of "No SIM card" errors, even after a SIM replacement. Now going to Google....
The way many have overcome the no sim card error has been to return the phone to stock ICS and the modem to the LF6, then go on to the rom, kernel, and modem of choice.
Using the emergancy firmware installation option of Kies has also been used.

Hey Guys/Gals!
I (stupidly) jumped into rooting too quickly. It's a great option for really getting the true potential out of your android IMO, but I (having no knowledge of the possible issues of rooting) really messed me up here.
I have a Samsung Mega SGH - I527 and I have no clue what version of android it was originally running.
Basically, one day I was on base with my cell phone in my pocket, and this was about a week after i rooted with a program I believe was called "kingo". I went to pull it out of my pocket, and the screen was not responding to touch. I wasn't doing anything unusual and there aren't any signs of damage of any physical kind. I freaked out on the spot, and realized it must have been the root.
I rebooted the phone, and touch came back. I rejoiced, then freaked out as about 15 - 30 seconds later, the touch went bad again.
It then stayed not working until I rebooted again, and again, and again, until I managed to get to the Factory Reset settings in that little tiny window of time.(a small note while on this subject: not every reboot got me that little bit of time to use the touch, and the amount of time i had to use the touch screen was never consistent from what i could tell.)
From here on out, just troubleshooting steps already tried:
- factory reset on phone in phones UI (did not fix)
- factory reset on phone with bootloader menu (did not fix)
- using Odin 3.07 to put supposed stock firmwareback on the device (did not fix)
- took apart phone to make sure digitizer/lcd cable was seated properly on the motherboard (did not fix)
Any Ideas? just trying to do something that makes this thing NOT a $500 shiny paperweight :'(
feel free to email me @ [email protected] if you have any further questions or info that could help out here!
PS: sorry if this is a repost, I didn't find anything related to this specific topic in forum

The only thing is, the phone is /really/ new.. i never abused it, and I'm thinking that its a software issue. I know its possible i broke/failed the hardware, but i really think its the case that the root i did messed it up. Do you know if there are any other more power ful ways to restore the chipset back to originality than using odin to load it back?
