Help I'ma heavy tethering user. Ever since I change to 7.1 my data connection keeps losing packets compare to those 6.0 ROMs.
Is there any solution to this or any specific 7.0+ ROMs out there?
I tried changing frimwares, kernals, locking service to 4G only, different locations. nothing works so the issue here is the ROM baseband I think
Hello anyone have any idea? Currently I downgraded to mashmellow and everything works fine.

Hey all, so my question is that I flashed MIUI coming from CM7 and 3g does not work,I see the 3g icon but using browser and and xda app just loads then says needs to be connected to a network. I asked this cause seems like no one else has the same problem on MIUI(Everyone seems to be on verizon network). I have a verizon fascinate on a none verizon network. CM7's 3g works fine just slower and all touchwiz base roms data works flawlessly(1000kbps to 2500kbps). I cant say its the network cause I'll flash back and forth and it always gives me the same results, touchwiz base roms(Stock,ComRom and EF 3.X)having the fastest network speed. Is it possible that the AOSP rom's network connection is only optimized for VzW. Can anyone confirm this?Sorry for the long post.
Tried different basebands (ED01,ED05,EC09) still the same result
So I've had this issue ever since upgrading my galaxy nexus to 4.2.1 and it is driving me insane!! I have installed Ad-Away on my phone but when I have non-CM based ROMs installed (AOKP, JBSoucery, etc....) the ad blocking works fine on WiFi but doesn't work at all on cellular data. With CyanogenMod installed ad blocking works on WiFi and cellular data perfectly. I have tried a full wipe of everything, clean installs of ROMs with nothing but Ad-Away and one app with ads and no luck. Is anybody else experiencing this or does anybody have any ideas on a possible fix? Or could anybody point me in the direction to start researching and I'll try to fix it. I'm just at a loss for what to do.
I did post this in the GNex forums a while back but nobody really had any ideas. I've also tried other ad blocking apps with the same results.
Thanks for any help!
FIXED!!!
I finally figured it out. There was a proxy set in the APN settings on any non-CM ROM and apparently ad blockers don't like that. On WiFi it didn't use the APN so no problems there. Apparently the APN's on CM ROMs don't have a proxy set. That's also why it isn't as widepsread, because each carrier has a different APN setting. Hopefully if anybody else has this problem this post will help!
Hey, so I have a Samsung Galaxy S running CyanogenMod 9.
I want to test if my 3g is actually working or not. I used to use the 3G internet on the phone until I changed plan without mobile internet and now I've changed back. The problem is there is no 3G connection now.
I've been onto my network's forums and followed their instructions for setting up APN's etc. and the settings are perfect (even though I never changed them since the last time it worked)
So my question is that is there some way to test if your 3G hardware is actually functioning?
Bump. Does anyone know anything to test if your 3G h/w is working?
Bump. Anyone?
Hello, I don't know if there is already a fix for this but I couldn't find one. I am using muniz_ri's TetherAddOn for the stock OB1 Lollipop firmware. I am using a MetroPCS GS5 running on the ViSX ROM by AxAtAx.
Only thing changed was my APN to regain data.
The only issue I'm having is that whenever 4G (WCDMA) is enabled, the Hotspot works wonderfully.
When 4GLTE is enabled under mobile networks, all devices say that they cannot connect to the Internet.
I am trying to figure out if the LTE uses a different Protocol or something else that blocks it out. If WCDMA works, why can't 4GLTE?
I'm not an android wizard but I do know some basics. This is just beyond my reach and would love to see if there is a way around that "block"
I just got into ErfanROM (Stock 7.1) and it's really an awesom job. The ROM is really fluid.
However, since I installed it, not only this ROM but every other that I flash in my phone ends up getting WiFi connectivity issues.
Apparently, WiFi with WPA2 keys just can't find a way to authenticate. Can anyone lend me a hand?
PS.: All other devices connected to the network can still connect to wifi with no problems.
Thanks a lot
Any differences with open networks and/or with 5 GHz ones?
