I won't be able to have access to adb till late tonight at the earliest, can you pull it using the following command?
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/ of=/sdcard/
Those commands should copy the stock recovery IMG to your sdcard directory
Edit. Last command might be
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/ of=/sdcard/stockrecovery.IMG
I think you have to specify the destination IMG file name

Want to root/twrp Zenwatch 2 m6e69n - ANY HELP would be GREAT!!!
I got my Z2 m6e69n about a week ago (10/16/16) and it's great but I want root & twrp like I have on my other Android devices. Don't know that it matters, I'm using LS990 (Sprint LG G3 on KK 4.4.2). I've been searching XDA and YouTube for clear, detailed info on how to root and get TWRP on the watch but not having a lot of luck.
What I have found is:
- I have activated developer options
- How to get into recovery, how to access bootloader, how to unlock bootloader (http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenwatch/general/guide-how-to-access-recovery-zenwatch-t3167623) THANKS to arbitercu
...but nothing detailed about installing TWRP. Maybe I'm blind or just not understanding but any help would be great. I simply don't want to BRICK my Zenwatch.
- ALSO, VERY LITTLE EXPERIENCE with ADB and side loading which I think might be important to mention.
- Last thing, basically want to get some of the BLOAT off the device and get the most out of it.
Almost forgot:
- Zenwatch 2 m6e69n Sparrow (1.63")
Thanks in advance!

How about a little more googling. http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenwatch-2/orig-development/wip-unofficial-twrp-v2-8-7-0-t3321199/
Be careful what you remove. The watch won't function properly without some apps.
edit : no issue quick for wear
Thanks for the thread. :laugh::laugh::laugh:
Could someone provide fastboot flashable .IMG files?
I've ****ed up my watch quite hard by grabbing the wrong system image while the watch was still locked, now I can't even boot it anymore or restore a TWRP backup because the file system seems to be corrupt. I can't save anything in /sdcard without it getting wiped again after a reboot.

What happens when you boot twrp using fastboot? If you can get into twrp, with the bootloader unlocked you might be able to reformat the partitions.
On a side note I think you can format the partitions from fastboot mode

Yeah, I've managed to repair the partitions by erasing and formatting them via fastboot, for whatever reason only formatting them didn't help... I have no clue why. Except boot I've erased + formatted every partition, then booted TWRP via "fastboot boot TWRP" and then was able to push TWRP backup files onto /data/media (/sdcard was broken still for whatever reason). After the first boot it somehow fixed /sdcard too tho it was missing all of its files on there. I simply did a factory reset of the watch after this and now it seems to be back and working again, tho I'm not fully sure because TWRP seems to have some problems still but that could be due to the wonky and, sorry, "****ty" port of TWRP 3.0 someone else made.

That's good you got it working. As for twrp if I remember right there were some issues with 3.0.0 regarding Android wear that were fixed in later versions. Ever since my galaxy s3, I've taken to building my own for the devices I have or have had. I make them available on my website.
Can anybody provide this for a Zenwatch 2 Wren? It would be appreciated a lot.

Hi
I don't know where to publish this thread cause there is no Zenfone 3 Zoom Section
So I will write it here till the moderators make the section
This thread is method for changing the stock ROM from Chinese version to worldwide version
NOTE : You can't flash ww ROM from TWRP even if you change the Updater script , also it can't be flashed from ASUS flashtool. [ I attached photos for it ]
Required things :
1- Unlocked Bootloader | you can Download the unlock app from herehttps://ln.sync.com/dl/be16e9f30/h5hsy3iq-ruag2n8n-v293cg8a-wi29bypk
2- adb & fastboot drivers | download it from here
3- WW ROM | from here
** You have to make a backup for your data cause your device will be wiped .
Steps :
1- Unlock the bootloader .
2- Install the adb & fastboot drivers on your PC
3- extract the ROM file [ will have a lot of files , you only need System.img and boot.img]
4- copy System.img and boot.img to adb&fastboot folder
5- open command Prompt
6- put your devices in fastboot mode [ restart your device then press the Vol.Up button and choose fastboot]
7- enter these commands in cmd :
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot format userdata
fastboot reboot
8- enjoy your new ww rom
** if you want to flash twrp then >>
1- install it from here
2- enter fastboot mode
3- in cmd , write this command
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
DONE
photos attached for
battery Status after installing WW ROM
difference between the WB in WW ROM and CN ROM
The errors shown when flashing WW ROM from TWRP or asus flashtool
Nice guide
awesome
I know this isn't the thread for it... but there is no forum for the ZenFone 3 Zoom.
I have US model and I've unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP, rooted.
I want to install rom update that was just released last week. It obviously doesn't flash in TWRP. I also can't unzip it without corruption errors. Redownloaded the ROM multiple times from ASUS.
I assume to update stock rom with an unlocked Bootloader we'll need stock recovery??

And where was that twrp install originally from? I haven't found an image for this model specifically.
Also, does this bootloader unlock still allow the pushed OS updates from ASUS? Want to make sure I can get Nougat when it comes out!
Hey guys,
I need some help. I installed the apk to unlock the bootloader and my phone was fine, but after flashing twrp and installing the zip for supersu via twrp, my phone has been stuck on the boot screen. Now it says "The dm verity is not started in enforcing mode and may not work properly" when booting up. I can get back into twrp, and I've tried wiping the dalvik/art cache, system, data, and cache, but my phone still won't boot up. It's stuck on the ASUS boot screen, and I have no idea what to do now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No. The last update WW_V11.41.87.2 is not available for my OTA. I can download the zip though and flash. I haven't actually attempted to do this yet. I plan to flash it today. Not sure if I'll be able to do it through twrp, or if I'll have to flash back the stock recovery first.
So does this change the bands available with it? I have the WW ROM but want the additional bands the US ROM has.
why I only have system.new.dat where can i get the system.img? thank you
How did you get on with flashing the update... did you have to revert to stock recovery and if so which did you use? Thanks for your help with this.
Can I ask where/how you got the stock ROM? I'd like to make sure that these are updated/available somewhere for people on this device to use as needed, and ASUS seems to only have the updates on their website.
Is it possible to relock bootloader after converting to WW?
I'm interested in this phone. Do you know if this one is going to be shipped later this year with Snapdragon 630?. I hear something similar in a YouTube video.

How can I update Nougat on ZenFone 3 Zoom.....??? Please help me .......
I accidentally flashed a Retail US version on my Moto Z Retail EU, and now I am having a "bad key" at the Warning on boot up. Can someone provide me with a 7.1.1 or 7.0 link for Retail EU for the XT1650-03? It's for the normal Moto Z, not Play or Force. I NEED an Retail EU Boot as I flashed a wrong one and I cannot go back to 6.0.1 to fix it, so my Boot is broken until someone gives me a proper EU one for 7.0 or 7.1.
Thanks in advance!
Note: I am getting this when trying to flash the "XT1650-03_GRIFFIN_7.0_NPLS25.86-17-3-8_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC" files:
D:\MAIN FOLDER\Android\Moto Z\XT1650-03_GRIFFIN_7.0_NPLS25.86-17-3-8_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml\GRIFFIN_NPLS25.86-17-3-8_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml>fastboot flash boot boot.img

OKAY [ 0.078s]
writing 'boot'...
(bootloader) Image signed with key bad key
OKAY [ 0.805s]
finished. total time: 0.885s
So yeah, I need a boot image that isn't signed with a bad key for RETEU.
Fixed. Flashed a Retail US 7.0 STOCK ROM even though it said "bad key", and then I flashed erfanoabdi's "Stock" 7.1.1 ROM which flashed a working boot.img that doesn't cause this problem.

I am not understanding most of what you are saying, but I can prepare a little .zip with everything you need for you. I make a .bat file that you need to run which should do all the work for you.

Alright, here. Make sure that you have ADB installed System-Wide on your PC, you can use ADB-AIO for that if you don't have ADB and Fastboot Tools installed yet.
Anyways, once you have that, download my .rar file (Yes, .rar, install WinRAR if you don't have it, I won't use .zip in order to compress much more and save space and download time for you), and then run the "Moto Z Automated Flash.bat" file, it should do everything for you, but make sure to READ what I wrote in it, when it asks you to "Press Enter", please READ everything carefully, I will NOT explain further here, everything that you need to know is described and explained to you while you use the "Moto Z Automated Flash.bat" file as a form of guide.
In case you wonder, it is 3.5GB large because it contains the STOCK 7.0 ROM for the Moto Z (that you will flash first), and then the 7.1.1 ROM from erfanoabdi that you will flash through TWRP. It also contains TWRP (which will be flashed during the guide/bat file) and a logo.bin that covers over the stupid "N/A" at bootup.

You need:
Stock O ftf (best to use Flashtool/Xperifirm)
Modded boot img for 34.4.A.2.19 - https://mega.nz/#!AgtQ2Sob!JjLRcUVjuy6FNanjGY49g-YYmkcda04witfHp4hwvmo
Modded boot img for 34.4.A.2.32 - https://mega.nz/#!Z1tzEJbZ!e9ET_RtUpKjXRwnJa_TDsMrVwvT-hPxmk06KtryHOuc
Modded boot img for 34.4.A.2.85 - https://mega.nz/#!p5UwAabR!_ofmr_WdId9RdH48Xb3cZtSIzsQ6qcTJTAFYcKHFWJE
Kernel elf file to use with rootkernel [34.4.A.2.85] - https://mega.nz/#!M102lYTZ!9bj2KE-vbNWlej3Dw0NuiXJcfpgiy16svSHud73bLfw
Modded boot img for 34.4.A.2.107 - https://mega.nz/#!Nls0EQBR!Cc4lVcA85f8YeNTo8nMqsuwLzveW5duSbyeZDlI5kDE
Kernel elf file to use with rootkernel [34.4.A.2.107] - https://mega.nz/#!Zp10CASK!iGLE94Tj1SSk1U2p4KLpVrcGmD68C3YvqKMXD6VPFjI
Modded boot img for 34.4.A.2.118 - https://mega.nz/#!14VkzCCB!GK-KEv0A-ZyhysXc1-IusyJjJEB-D5ZWOLm1DRt31tA
Kernel elf file to use with rootkernel [34.3.A.2.118] - https://mega.nz/#!Ylcm1SwA!GuX9dfd2HAqLXy1jom-C6mgP0s4jYXl9qSySkvb_mtA
TWRP - https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/development/ub-twrp-v3-2-1-xperia-x-compact-t3793837
1. Flash stock ftf from Xperifirm via Flashtool
2. After flash, connect in fastboot (before booting phone) and type in command line 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' (this assumes that your modified boot img is in the current directory, and is named 'boot.img'; otherwise, you need to edit the command accordingl)
3. Then type 'fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.1.img' (same note as above)
Done
Now, you can flash Magisk, (or whatever), and have root access.
If you want Drm fix, flash serajr's zip here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4404527&d=1517335127
If you want to restore your own ta with munjeni tool, you will need to patch boot img yourself with rootkernel tool here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74724162&postcount=2793
How to get stock kernel elf and patch your boot img with rootkernel:
1. Download and build stock ftf from Xperifirm via Flashtool
2. Go to Flashtool > tools > sin editor, and navigate to stock kernel sin file, in the downloaded firmware folder. Click on sin file and choose 'exrract data', and it will create a kernel elf.
3. Follow the guide by serajr. You need only to put the kernel elf into rootkernel folder, then open a command prompt there and run 'rootkernel kernel.elf boot.img'. Answer all questions 'yes', unless you want to skip drm fix and restore your own ta, (if that's the case, you need your target file in that folder renamed to TA.img). After script runs, you will have a new boot img that you can use to follow the guide.
Done...
Magisk, MicroG, and Xposed tested... (update - I haven't tried yet, but I've read that Xposed not working on ...85; update 2 - confirmed, bootloop; update 3 - Xposed fix now available here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/themes/xposed-fix-118-t3870673)
I made a patched boot img with rootkernel tool and uploaded it. Link in op. Don't forget to thank serajr...
Can confirm the above method worked for me. I used the TA.img instead of drm fix, and i get root and security test still have widefine and fidokeys enabled.
Just slight reminder for linux user, you need to add execute permission on both `rootkernel` and `bootimg`, otherwise rootkernel tool will fail with permission issue.

For Drm fix you still have to flash serajr zip. If you want to restore ta with munjeni tool, you will need to patch boot yourself.

Hello,
can you please help me with a little problem? I just did everything step by step, but I can't still get root access (after flashing boot.img SuperSU still shows "no root detected"). And one more question. I used that DRM fix zip, but still get "Not provisioned". Am I miss something? (but nevermind, I can use my TA backup, but I'm just curious about that).
Thanks guys.

Boot img just enables modification by disabling Sony security stuff, but you still need to flash whatever mod you want. So after flashing boot and recovery img, then flash supersu (or whatever), and you should have root.
I can't say about drm fix, since I've never used it before, but I don't think it will show fido provisioned, etc, because it simply recreates the drm functions through a different method, (not with ta).
I was able :good: Xposed release link

Hello,
i flashed on my sony with oreo this boot.img and twrp and im stuck on sony logo. Any ideas what could be wrong? I tried android 34.4.A.0.364 singapure and UK versions and neither of these works with this twrp.
I have the newest platform-tools and flashing went well.

i flashed on my sony with oreo this boot.img and twrp and im stuck on sony logo. Any ideas what could be wrong? I tried android 34.4.A.0.364 singapure and UK versions and neither of these works with this twrp.
I have the newest platform-tools and flashing went well.
Thanks

Can you try running the tool and creating the boot.img yourself? I use the singapore ftf and doesn't have problem booting the system (with the boot img I created myself). I do not put twrp on boot img though. I boot twrp from fastboot when needed
I created boot.img and everything works Thanks a lot!
I dont understang the part that says :
Android Oreo ramdisk patching needs some additional files, and they must be copied from Oreo /system into the rootkernel's filesystem_files folder, prior to run the script, and they are:
Code:
/system/vendor/etc/fstab.qcom
/system/vendor/etc/init/hw/init.qcom.rc
/system/vendor/etc/init/hw/init.target.rc
(you can pull these files through adb, or even converting system.sin to system.ext4 and take them out from there - just copy them, and DO NOT touch its contents)
how to do that!? im noob...

Twrp - https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/development/twrp-3-2-1-decryption-t3751998
As for rebooting to system, can't say for sure... Root method involves only changing boot img, so shouldn't affect system. Any errors in fastboot, etc?
Original flash should be clean flash official stock ftf from Xperifirm. First boot could be 10 minutes...

Small update on this, there was an Android update recently, and it fixes everything ??* so if someone else here has the same issues somehow, updating to July update fixes it
I've some questions:
-does Nokia release his kernel source and which version use? on their website there is only for 3.1 I don't know if are same thing.
-Does support treble?
hello, now there is a august update for nokia 3.2 Do u have the boot file for that.. or how can I find it??
I add this phone to the list of my amazon.it account to make some stuff like twrp and roms but didn't buy yet, I'm afraid that Nokia will not release kernel source soon so in case of taking one I can make a twrp with stock kernel extracted from boot.img see ya.
Edit: buying this phone has been cancelled after reading unlocking bootloader seems to be "impossible" shame on you dear Nokia

Can you tell what your current build number is?
I suspect there is more than one firmware flavor around.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't have my current build as a separate firmware file, and QFIL is not able to get the boot image from my phone because the communication stops right away.
My build number starts with 00EEA, whereas your boot image (and the full stock ROM on Mega that you linked) contains 00WW. I'm not sure this firmware is compatible with my Nokia 3.2 ...

I've looked around and so far could not find the stock firmware for my phone.
If I had it, I'm sure I could manage to extract the boot.img and let Magisk patch it (I've done that before with other devices).

Thanks for your efforts - I was able to solve the problem today.
It seems there are different versions of the same "programmer" around that is used in QFIL to extract your own boot image from the phone.
Originally, I used the one provided by @hikari_calyx in his unlock thread. Today I noticed that the programmer file in the stock firmware you provide here has a slightly different size. I tried this one and it worked.
So I could extract my "boot.img" from the phone. Rooting was easy after that.
I think it's always safer to use one's own boot image than trying to flash one that was lying around elsewhere.
Here is my post in the other thread for reference. Thanks again for your research and for providing the stock firmware!
.
Hello JFDee,
is it possible that you upload your original or modified boot image also?
Because i flashed the boot image that was given here and now i have the same problem, like said before.
WLAN is not working anymore and the Boot time is very long. Updating also don't work.
I also saw the differences in the build numbers.
My is like yours 00EEA....
This would be really nice, because i don'T find the stock image for this number.
Best regards!!!!
