how to skip add payment option while setting up daydream VR? - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

I can't use the Daydream app because it asks me to add a payment option and i have no card that works online and no valid PayPal since you have to have a card attatched. What do i do now? How is this even a thing? I don't want to buy anything.

editkay, finally found the daydream settings. they are only available when you are actually watching sth in vr mode, e.g. from youtube through google cardboard.
hint: https://twitter.com/fernandojsg/status/909066600946569216
...but "skip vr entry screens" is activated & greyed out. So I say goodbye now to daydream, since i have a locked device (google pixel - oreo 8.0) without root and can't opt for:

[Q] How can I disable updates for specific apps in the market?

It used to be the market would separate apps that were approved for auto update from those that had disabled auto update set. One could then simply hit the Update All (for the group) button and it would update ONLY the apps that were auto update enabled. Over the past few months Play Store has changed their behavior in that it no longer separates the apps and will only enable auto updates for everything or nothing.
How can I hide or otherwise prevent these few apps that I do not want to update from being in the play store update list? As it is now, I have to selectively update each individual app from the list, skipping the few apps I do not want updated.
Thanks,
Currently on a Samsung GS3, rooted, stock.

did you ever find a solution to this ?
Actually yes,... I think. I'd suggest making backups of your apps (TitaniumBU or other).
Open Play Store
Menu: Settings
Enable Auto Updates (Mine is set to when on WIFI only)
Go back to main Play store page.
Menu: My Apps
Under Installed, locate any app that you wish to change and select it, this opens the App Details page.
Menu: Auto-update untick the checkbox.
Still trying to confirm this condition: Seems that if you manually update an app that is not set to auto-update, it will possibly reset the auto-update flag to 'Enabled'

Hi!
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I am kind of fighting with a similar issue, my problem is,
the apps I don't want to auto update are google apps(Keep/Youtube/Gtalk), which are replaced
by black counterparts from Team Blackout(with exception of Gtalk, I just don't like Hangouts)
and of course there is no "disable auto update" option with google system apps.
As of this date, I can see no valid option for selectively update the installed app catalogue, this
might be a decision from Google's part to push out the obsolete apps by force, which is understandable,
but I think there should be an option to have this feature.
Now at this point I am updating the apps manually app by app, and of course
with about 200 plus apps installed a complete PITA.
Thanks for any answers at this point, and this is my first post here btw, please be kind.

I found this thread looking for a way to selectively disable auto-update. I found that by going to the Play Store on my phone (under settings, I already had auto update on wifi only enabled), selecting apps/my apps, then choosing a specific app, then touching the soft menu key brings up a checkbox for auto -update. Uncheck to disable auto-update. This works for Google apps too like Hangouts, GMail (2 apps that I checked), etc.

Up until a day or two ago, I found the same thing - I could hit the soft menu button in the Play Store, and there would be an option to check or uncheck Auto-Update for that specific App. But I just checked again, wanting to take advantage of that, and it didn't come up any more.
Can anybody confirm that this functionality is gone again?
I'm on Verizon, with a Stock 4.2.2 Galaxy Note 3, non-rooted.
Thanks.
ETA: I rebooted my phone, and the ability to check/uncheck auto-update with the soft menu is back. Strange, but at least it's there again.
Disable updates for specific app - COMPLETLY
Hello,
I found this thread - title says it all.
I have Google Maps 7.5.0 installed, therefore it's listed in "Updates" all the time.
I do not have automatic updates activated, but i like to use the "update all" button in the play store.
Is there a way to disable the listing of Google Maps in "Updates"?
Thanks!

I don't think you can disable that display in Google Play. It knows what apps you have and will let you know when there is an update for them, whether you want to know or not! The main thing is that you can generally decide whether you want the update or not. I prefer it that way. It gives me a choice.

Yes, I like that it's reminding me of updates.
But the new version of the app is not working for me and if I hit the updated-all button on accident, I have to reverse the app again. Happens too often. Would be awesome to have a checkbox á la "Don't display updates for this app"

Yes, it did the trick for a while - and the app (Facebook app - the old version which did not have the annoying bugs) I detached from the market vanished from the available updates list. But the very next morning it was back in the same list :crying::crying:
That's right, it only works for a couple of hours. Haven't found another solution

I think I have found the simple answer:
1. In Google Play Store settings enable all applications to update automatically on wi-fi.
2. Next, individually click each of the apps you do not want to update automatically. On each app's update page, there is a menu button on the top right corner. Click it and deselect auto update for that app.
Now all these disabled apps will not auto update along with the other generally permitted apps.
Cheers.

Cannot use fingerprint to authenticate.

Hi All,
Is anyone else having issues while trying to authenticate apps (or open apps) using fingerprint on the device? (Say Google Pay, I cannot log in to the app with fingerprint, phone asks for Pattern/Password).
If this is not an issue, please let me know how to enable it. I checked in settings, looks good.
Please note that I am able to unlock the device using FP
Help is appreciated!

I don't think there any option to enable it. It's system wide support that's missing from xiaomi on POCO. it was there on Mi A2 (obviously, being Android one).SO i think we need to bring this one to POCO Team's attention. Send Bug report for same & Tag them on twitter if you are there.

Yup, I dont think it works on miui. I am not able to authenticate any of my banking apps via fingerprint.
I guess its depends upon the app developer. There is no fingerprint authentication for Google Pay/ Tez but I can enjoy this feature with ICICI banking app.

I checked. I can use it on my bank accounts, app lock, and third party app loks as well.
The thing with Tez it that it relies on Android's native screenlo k or Google Pin, now the app is probably not able to leverage the screen lock fully (the Fingerprint), which should be brought to Xiaomi's notice. I'll be writing this on the Xiaomi Forum now.

I can't get it to work with the same app. It just says fingerprint authentication failed multiple times before I even place my finger and then it forces me back to using my pin.
Not sure with Google Pay/Tez since we don't have that in my country, but my banking apps work fine with fingerprint. Even PayPal works. I suggest updating the FIDO and IFAA certificates. If it doesn't then best bet is to truly contact Xiaomi or post in forums (though contacting them directly may be best to get any answers straight from the horses mouth)
It worked fine for me but since the last update (10.1.3) it has become unreliable - 50/50 chance of it working. Unlock device works 100% of the time. Tried recreating all the fingerprints and same issue.
I've the same problem.
All apps i decided to secure with fingerprint, can't be unlocked with fingerprint.
Only the option of PIN is available, but don't work either.
It's the same problem as drawkcaB has told...

Thanks for your quick reply!
The problem is that it mostly affects the pre-installed apps from xiaomi.
Unfortunately, you can not uninstall these.
Presumably a reset to factory settings will be unavoidable?

Fingerprint icon is not showing on lockscreen
I have seen fingerprint icon on lockscreen of stock android and OxygenOS. Also in Gpay if enable unlock using lockscreen fingerprint icon is showing on Gpay authentication window of both the phone. Since fingerprint icon is missing in lockscreen of poco make it depreciated to gpay authentication using fingerprint.
Yes, I am also facing same problem. Could you resolve it?

Samsung "Game Plugins"

Hi all gamers, Samsung has an app "Game Plugins" for game boost and different plugins to show system information during game. Download from Samsung store.
I would recommend debloating any "game booster" or "game optimizing service,"fps smart adjuster" and you will get way better experience.
In developer settings you have "GPU Watch" that shows current FPS on any application but it's nice it shows the temperature too. Thanks for sharing

Question Anyone (rooted) able to get fingerprint working in the Chase app?

I've done all the stuff recommend for passing safetynet in the guide for rooting, Google pay and Netflix work (gotta sideload Netflix).
But Chase gives me warnings about root and also won't allow fingerprint sensor.
Anyone got Chase working? Bonus: also get Amazon Prime Video working.
I used magiskHide with chase and chase does not detect root.
Fingerprint is tricky. In older versions you could kill the app and keep relaunching until it allows you to enter your fingerprint. I think the app recently updated, so you would have to clear the chase app data, relogin, then try registering your fingerprint within the app. If it fails, just kill the chase app, relaunch and try again. The key is clearing the Chase app data.
For a different banking app, I had to add it to the Magisk deny list to use my fingerprint.
My other apps like capitalone and E-Trade work ok but Chase refuses to for some reason.

Chase has really good fraud protections in place be it on their credit cards or accounts. If there is fraud on your account they bear the responsibility and will make good almost to the penny IIRC. That being said they also have a tech department that is very aware what a rooted device could do to an account if the devices is compromised. Therefore, it's not a good idea to use Chase app for banking purposes if you are rooted. It's really for your protection although I know it sometimes doesn't feel that way. As for now you can use it on an unlocked bootloader but root will kick it out. Perhaps in the future there will be a mod that Chase won't detect and by the same token they might not allow unlocked bootloaders either.

I can use the app though.
Some features are disabled (it doesn't specific which ones), and fingerprint doesn't work, but otherwise I can use the app.
Also th idea that a rooted device is dangerous is a meme that I don't take seriously. Computers have had way more freedom than even a rooted mobile device, and we've been doing banking on them for longer and even into the current year.

Yeah I know it's not a popular position especially in this community. Computers are not mobile though for the most part. Open wifi can be problematic on both platforms. Using a VPN mitigates some of that which I use religiously. I still though won't bank on an unknown network. But I do get your point.

I'm not sure I understand the point here. You can log in and do everything on your rooted phone if you go in through a browser. What's the difference between that and their dedicated app? Also, I'm pretty sure all major credit card companies have full fraud protection/pay you back everything. Not sure why chase would be special.

Yeah I'm not sure what the difference is or where their liability attorneys stand.. As I said it's not a popular position but I also don't want to deal with banking issues so I avoid anything that might go against that. To each their own.

This happens to me, I've seen several people with this problem
Looks like it only happens when on wifi
On mobile data all messages arrive in real time
I had the same issue as I was using a modded WhatsApp.
You need root to resolve it (If you restored Data from an older modded version).
Check Here for details

These are the two files that needs to be deleted.
data/data/com.fmwhatsapp/shared_prefs/com.google.android.gms.appid.xml
data/data/com.fmwhatsapp/no_backup/com.google.android.gms.appid
Afterwards, Clear Google Play Service Data / cache and reboot the phone.
Your problem will be sorted.
