Hi,
I have 4x (5'') not the note, I managed to fix this issue by doing the following :
1. Go to security-permissions-other permissions-trucaller-enable display pop-up window
2. Go to security-permissions-autostart-enable truecaller
3.Go to settings-battery & performance-manage apps battery usage-choose apps-truecaller-choose no restrictions
Hope this will work for you.

Mate 20 Pro and Android Auto Call Dialer Bug details

As detailed here (rebuild url by removing spaces);
www. reddit. com/r/Huawei/comments/9w5vwc/huawei_mate_20_pro_android_auto_dialer_bug
It seems the bug stemmed from a missing Voicemail Option settings on the current version (126 and previous ?) of the EMUI.
Looking at my Mate 20 Pro, the Voicemail settings cant be found.
Thus from Android Auto app, an attempt to read the System Voicemail setting will cause program to throw an EXCEPTION error. Now, how do we fix this ?
Disable permissions for contacts and call log worked for me as a temporary fix.
I'm confused as if I press and Hold 1 from the dialler it connects me to my Carriers Voicemail as expected, and that's not something I manually configured.
NB haven't tested with Android Auto as I don't use it
NB I can also reconfigure by going to Call Settings| More| VoiceMail Where there are 4 options
Service Provider : Configured as "My Network Provider"
Voicemail number : configured as "901"
Notification Sound : Select
Vibrate On/Off
O2 UK provided M20P on .122 FW
Edit Add: Just installed Android Auto and starts , runs & seems to work as expected
NB also noticed you referred to the .126 FW which some peeps seem to be getting instead of .122

You are lucky Your version of the firmware provide Voicemail options. I tried looking for mine via press and Hold 1 on the Phone Dialer and viola -- No Voicemail settings i can set to . I also tried to look for it via search on the Android Settings Menu and there is none. Is it a telco activated option or is it because we have a different version of the firmware ?
Also, i did that "remove all the SIM cards" thingy to test if Android Auto will not crash when the dialer is clicked - viola -- Android Auto did not crash.
Now, how do i get Voicemail activated on my side ? hmmm
ok, here is my not so great Android Auto Dialer Bug QUICK FIX
I used TWO (2) SIM cards, 1st one is a Data Only SIM card with no Telephony service placed at slot1 of the Mate 20 Pro. 2nd one is my primary telephony sim card attached in Slot #2.
Settings:
All Data Access on Sim Card 1
Telephone Calls default on Sim Card 2
I discovered that Android Auto will always check which sim card with internet settings and will attempt to get telephony settings from there and since there is no telephony service on Simcard 1, Android Auto will skip the Voicemail setting retrieval and will proceed to display the dialer
From there, i can now initiate the call via Sim Card 2

From your other post I see you have a dual SIM version, maybe that explains the FW version difference.
Question :
Was your phone :
a) bought SIM Free Outright
b) Carrier/Telco provided with contract
If a) then I would have expected it to have all the options avaialble and be unrestricted.
if b) then it may be that your carrier/telco has deactivated some settings to make you pay extra for features.
Do you have Voicemail with your carrier ?

Bought it SIM Free.
I think the telco provider has disabled it but my previous phone which is a Huawei P10 (transitioned to Mate 20 pro a week ago) has Voicemail settings in it
UPDATE:
I recently got a PATCH update from Huawei for Mate 20 Pro FW .126 Patch 02 and VoiceMail options are there and Android Auto Dial Bug is now FIXED
Also, i dont have to remove call log and contact permissions from AA. It is now working as expected
Okay guys, this is an error due to the way the firmware is installed. It all comes down to the carriers and their software. Using the M20 pro on vodafone, AA crashes, doesn’t even start. I’m returning that phone and going with EE, and i forgot AA crashes, tried it just now and it works fine. It’s all to do with the default voicemail setting the carriers have. Also making a voicemail request by holding 1 may work for people having the crash.
Deleted VM no and re added works perfectly now
Happy user!!!
Which means previous versions of the EMUI tend to be buggy on the Voicemail settings. Either a reset of VM for those with the settings available and a f/w upgrade for those without VM options on their phone.

I just tried this and it also appears to be working when opening AA on the phone and going to dialler, just have to try in the car now and fingers crossed it will work.
*edit*
Just tried it in the car and all good also. Who needs the patch lol

EMUI 9 Help on issues

Hello friends,
I have upgraded to 9 (BLA-L29 9.0.0.161 C432E4R1P11) and i am facing two issues:
1. In Huawei Calendar app when having an appointment with a location, now there is a button "Show On Map", which was not available before. The problem is that clicking on it it tries to open www.amap.com, which as I understand is a chinese navigation map. Does anyone know how to change this and when clicking the "Show On Map" button to open the location on Google Map?
2. I have the dual sim version. in EMUI 8, when i was placing a call, in the screen it was showing which sim i was using to make the call (so in case i was using the wrong sim i was able to quickly close the call and redial it using the correct sim). In EMUI 9 there is no such information. Did anyone notice this?
Kindly ask anyone who can help to give me some hints on the above.
EDIT: The only way I have found to have in Incoming / Outgoing screen to let me know from which SIM i am making a call or in which SIM I am receiving a call is by doing the following:
1. Installed Google Dialer
2. Making as defaul dialer the Google Dialer
I do like the screen of EMUI 9 for Incoing/Outgoing calls, but is missing this information, which for me is important. If anyone else has a different approach to make the default EMUI screen to display SIM information, this would be preferable.

Unknown Number showing after flash xiaomi.eu miui 11 latest stable ROM

Hello everyone,
I'm having this problem where whenever someone calls me, even though I have them in my contacts, it only displays "unknown number", and does not show the number. When I, however, go into messenger app, it shows the correct contact details
My device is the mi 10 global version that i bought in the Netherlands, the bootloader is obviously unlocked and this is a fresh install.
ROM is xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10_V11.0.25.0.QJBCNXM_v11-10
I also tried the new MIUI 12 ROM that's out for the mi 10 and I thought it was something wrong with the ROM since its still BETA, but I have the same issue on the above mentioned ROM.
-I've already tried turning off the "make calls using WLAN" option in the sim settings and after reboot still the same issue.
-I've also tried disabling carrier check using "*#*#86583#*#*" and restarting the device, but still no luck. I've also tried re-enabling the carrier check and restarting and still no luck.
This issue is a small one but really annoying as I don't know who is calling me at the time.
Someone please HELP!!

I can also confirm that I've turned on all permissions associated with phone and dialer and the issue is still the same.

I can confirm that after flashing miui_UMIEEAGlobal_V11.0.12.0.QJBEUXM_88a2514f92_10.0 I have caller id functionality, meaning that when someone calls me, their name and number pops up. But now my phone is single SIM and I need double SIM and caller id functionality.
So where is the problem???
Yes you are correct. Since the chance (calling 3G instead of calling with 4g or volte) it solved my issue. I bet it solves yours too. Its under network > mobile network> Sim that had the issue and disable calling 4g
See screenshot
I opened a newtopic and now i found this, i have the same problem to mi 10 with miui 12.0.1 global.
Nothing works for me .i checked everything but unknown caller id is here...
It was the 4g. In 3g no problem .
When they will fix it ? Does anyone know ?
I think the issue is caused due to a combination. In miui 11 there is not the problem. In a custom there is the issue. Anyway. It should be addressed to the developer's.
I am facing the same issue on a POCO X3 NFC, strangely only for one of the two used SIMs.
Deactivating "4G Calling" solves the issue, though this is not a solution but a workaround. I don't want to miss the "Enhanced 4G" / VoLTE features, so what's the deal with this problem, which seems to be a general Xiaomi issue?
You could try to use True Phone from play store, google dialer is really bad

Doesn't have to do with the dialer, but I have already found the solution:
[GUIDE] How To Fix The "Unknown" Caller ID Issue With "4G Calling" Enabled
Wipe app cache and restart the phone. It's a known problem on android itself. It should sort itself out in time but if it doesn't just boot to fastboot and wipe cache ONLY.

Caller not identified

Hi,
I bought an A3, my previous phone was a Huawei Mate 10.
I synced my contacts, but every time I receive a call it shows the number instead of the name.
For example, I always store a contact with this format: +54 911 1234-5678; this worked perfectly even changing mobile companies or having dual SIMs. Also worked when I migrated from a Lumia 950 to the Mate 10.
But with the A3, when the contact calls, the Telephone app shows +54 11 1234-5678.
Didn't find any setting to resolve this... Any ideas?

Does your contact app have storage permissions granted? If it doesn't have storage permissions try enabling
If it does then maybe try clearing data of phone app.

There's a thread below that covers the same subject and has a discussion going. Might be info there
Yeah. But no solution at all :/ The strange thing is, it was working on my mi9t.
Tried it all. Nothing works
Any solutions yet?
Install an Android 11 rom and the problem is solved.
In my case Android 11 did not solve the problem. The only way to fix this was following this method - https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/guide-activate-vowifi-wlan-call-t3871263
