Hello, I got a phone which doesn't have polish language. How can I install it? Do I need to flash a ROM which does have more languages? Or maybe there's none available?
Ok, so I managed to do it myself. By installing AOSP since apparently Lenovo doesn't support my language.
I was running Android 4.2.1 (ROW) with a ROM that was probably dated at 2014 (the last part of the ROM name started with "14" instead of "13"). It looked like there would be many complications but I've done it Here's how:
1. Install QuBex-ROM using Manufacturing Flash Tool (here's how - but URLs aren't working so I just googled them and downloaded them from somewhere else) and therefore upgrade to Android 4.3
2. Use K900 Unlocker to unlock bootloader.
3. Install TWRP and AOSP as described in here.
Hope it helps someone
I wasn't able to find any MicroG thread with V30 so here we go.
I am after the point of rooting the device and now trying to figure out best ROM option.
Ideally I would like to use MicroG as I like the idea of maneuverability and full control over Gapps - seems to be better option than AOSP + Gapps as Gapps going to send out mobile info with or without Google account anyway.
I have h931 on oreo so as I understand I should use Joan version of Lineage I want to flash but it's not on the list on official LineageOS with MicroG page.
Have anyone tried to flash any of those ROMs
https://download.lineage.microg.org/
or installed MicroG after Lineage and is successful so far?
Goal is to install and use Banking app when it's needed and then switch off all Google functionality.
Thanks
Most ROMs support MicroG.
I randomly searched in the ROM forum here and this was in the OP of one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/rom-cosp-pie-t3930546
"Also, we provide the option to go completely without GApps using MicroG support."
Best to go down to the ROMs, find one you like and read their OP, then ask questions.
If you want Lineage specifically see bottom part of this post:

I'm on COSP with an H932 and am considering making the jump to microg once I have had the time to understand the process pretty well. As @ChazzMatt said there are a few threads on XDA dealing with this. Do a search and you'll find what you need. I also found this site useful "https://gitlab.com/Nanolx/NanoDroid/blob/master/README.md#installation-process"
It gives a lot of info on the install side, but also some on the after install. Once I have the time to give this a try I'll post my results.
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
I hope for you this will be useful.
Im on Oreo V22j, with fully functional MicroG.
On the previously version V22h(?) I had MicroG only ever y second boot working.
I installed the ROM complete clean, delete all Google Apps, from ROM, patched the service.jar to support signature spoofing and push the apks witch I get from micro g site in /priv-app Folder.
Since it works perfectly.
The YouTube Vanced thread has a modified microG that works well along regular pre-installed GApps.

It has to be the most wicked thing I've read in a while.
You basically binned whole Gapps folder
I am probabaly doing terrible job searching the forum but couldn't find Oreo 22j I hope you just flash it after h and it's all good.
I still have doubts that somehow after removing whole Gapps there is some part of LG bloatware coded inside ROM rejoicefully sending data about mu phone usage.
I was going to go for your solution but this came to my mind.
Anyways @Nemeziz 56th can you please provide more details about the process? Where is it from?
Thanks

His EU H930 22j = US998 22h. You would be using US998 22h, unless Pie comes for US998 this week.
Different V30 variants are on slightly different Oreo firmware number/letter combinations. The latest Oreo US998 is 22h, while the last Oreo for EU H930 is 22j. (Yes, they have Pie 30b now, but let's keep the discussion to Oreo.) It doesn't mean they are more advanced than US998 (on Oreo) -- it's just H930 Oreo launched before North American variants got Oreo last year -- so they had a couple extra security update releases before US998 20a hit. While the numbering is slightly different, the features are the same.
The only V30 variant that is different at this point in time on Oreo firmware is the Canada H933. For some reason they never got the DTS 3D stereo framework everyone else got in the late 2018/early 2019 Oreo firmware updates.
Ended up without MicroG for now as I will try to install it on another device.
Thank you for your input all.

My Problem was, I delete to much things, where I thought it was bloatware. At the end my Google Keep,QuickMemo Notes and some other stuff was not able to work.
It took me 2-4x of reflashes to find out that Google Chrome was the App which force close Google Keep, when I delete it(Only freezing it is safe)
I did a clean flash (Wiping everything in TWRP) then put the V22J which I get from here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/rom-fw-lg-v30-joan-h930-eu-21h-twrp-t3864728)
I root the device with magisk (it shouldn't be a problem to find the right zip.) and flash the nano patcher zip which patch the service.jar to support signature spoofing (https://downloads.nanolx.org/NanoDroid/Stable/)
Let it boot first time and then starting to remove bloatware with Solid Explorer. (Important to know not to delete the bloatware from the twrp recovery before the device did his first boot, because you will get System UI force close. It was a experience that I get.
I delete Google Play Market, Google GMS and the Play Record Service (which show you your achievement in games), YouTube nearly everything. I will attach some screenshots.
Then I freeze and delete LG Apps. I recommend to freeze the LDB apk not to remove because the system could start massive wakelock.(I get some on older version)
Then just put these all apks: https://microg.org/download.html in PRIV-APP and set the permission to 777
Boot to Recovery wipe cache.
And now I was able normal to set up my phone.
When you delete apps and you don't know are these apps important just serach for there name in Google.
can anyone provide a link for 8.1 ? for people who want to down grade from Pie 9?
I do not encourage you try to downgrade from Pie to Oreo.
If you are having difficulties with the upgrade, the most effective interim solution is to perform a full system reset initiated from the Settings menu.
For those adventurous souls.............
Here's the official link for build 699 Oreo 8.1, which is the original rom shipped at intro.
https://android.googleapis.com/pack.../cf1bcb02c65dae169a2313ef62d9d0c63a91588d.zip
CAUTION: You cannot downgrade from any version of Pie without some complex manipulations of your firmware.
I will avoid linking to these instructions for the following reasons:
One necessary step involves opening your MiBox's case.
Careless users can inadvertently destroy DRM critical partitions, with ZERO chance to recover. This can impact your ability to use Netflix and other commercially licensed streaming services.

bigtalker,
thanks so much. fortunately (or unfortunately) i "am" an adventurous soul and i know of those links you speak of about changing back and forth between 8.1 and 9.0. and i am doing so seamlessly. this is not the problem.
the reason why i ask in this thread for the "original stock" 8.1 firmware is because of varying file sizes of such 8.1 DL's that i have taken from the Net...i dont know which one is original. yours is the smallest 8.1 file size so i suspect it is true. the others are larger which is dubious. that said, all of them boot up successfully (the 8.1's including yours and the 9.0) HOWEVER it appears i have ANOTHER separate problem (?) with my remote. which i would like your feedback on if possible on the thread below.....thanks much!

After upgraded to Android 9 last week, my Mi Box 3 can only output 5.1 surround sound channels instead of 7.1 which I have been enjoying on previous version Android 8.1. Any suggestion fix this issue so that 7.1 is working again? Else I may have to revert to 8.1 via the posted complicated steps.

Dear Friends
I have bought a Huawei Mediapad T8 and I am trying to find a custom ROM to flash it. Unfortunately there is nothing on Cyanogenmod site.
If anyone has any reference site where I can find ROM s for this model please share it with me.
Sincerely
Konstantinos
Mediapad T8 has android 10 - so it can be part of Project Treble since it is 8+ - it means, you can flash GSI (generic system image) of many of custom roms and no need for certain full rom.
But, I guess, you will need to unlock bootloader and got permissive kernel and probably need to remove encryption for user data before got bootable custom rom.

Dear Friend
Thank you very much for replying to my thread. I admit that it is the first time that I heard about GSI (Generic System Image). I am looking for a custom rom so I can use the Play Store that is now missing from most Huawei devices. Unlocking bootloader is not so hard , I can get the code from Huawei in 7 months from now. Dealing with the GSI is something that I can not manage to be honest. I will wait for a custom rom. Thanx again.

Actually there are more than 10 Custom ROMs available:

Dear Friend
Thank you for the link. Which one is for Huawei Matepad T8? I can't find anything.
Please help

@coa00kt
Take note that any Android OS ( Stock ROM and/or Custom ROM ) you intend to install isn't device's model/brand dependant, but on device's CPU architecture. Almost all Android device's are powered by an ARM CPU.
Dear Friend
I am a noobie. Which ROM do you suggest for Mediatek MT8768 chipset (Octa-core 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.50 GHz Cortex A53)?

@coa00kt
Can't recommend any because I never used a Custom ROM: I have reasons for this.
Dear Friends
The main reason that I am looking a custom ROM is the advantage of using "Play Store". Otherwise Huawei Android 10 is just fine. Please help me find something that will work 100%. Otherwise I will stay with Huawei Android 10.
Thanx again

Dear friend,
In the meanwhile you can use GPStore alternatives like Aurora store or ApkPure or ApkMirror for apps that can not be found on Huawei's AppGallery.
On the other hand, you can install about 8 to 10 apps from Huawei phone/tablet (before US sticky fingers) in the form of backup and restore them to your tablet. Tutorial like this is simmilar for all phones. Also found some backup on GDrive for HiSuite or usb restore.

Hello Friend
I have installed APKPure , it is very usefull. About 80% percent of the applications are running fine. Unfortunately about 20% require the Google Play Services. I will stick to this solution until Huawei provides me the Bootloader Code (After 12 Months) and a custom rom is created .

Hi
You can just flash GApps pico. It installs Play Store and Google Service.
Do you know if Google apps pico require an unlocked bootloader? What is the process? Do I have to install custom recovery?
Hello.
Please, can someone extract the original apk from the notes and post here? I accidentally deleted mine and now I can't find it. Thanks.
Hi there, i managed to install a google account and a working playstore via this youtube tutorial, and google services is working outside of an irritating notification which you can turn off.

How to unlock the bootloader?

i wouldnt recommend installing a custom rom that is not specifically for your device, especially if you are a noobie. the devices appart from the SOC have many components that require specific drivers. in any case, you have to be extra carefull in following the instructions otherwise ou ll end up with a brick. your best bet is to find a recovery (again for your device) and flash open gapps.

Is it possible to root Matepad T8 ?
I think you no longer need Custom ROM to use GApps into this device. I have bought this device few days ago and found a way to run GApps. Just open Huawei AppGallery and look for "GSpace", it will solve GApps issue.
Hi all,
I have a P40 Pro Plus ELS-N39 c636 @ Emui 11.0.0.168. I've been searching for all successful methods to get GMS installed and especially any recent methods that don't require a downgrade of Emui to 10.X levels as I think, and I maybe be wrong in thinking this, would stand less chance of bricking the phone by not having to go through the downgrade firmware method.
This led me to find this website and guide in Chinese. Credit to Mobileai.net and I think a 'Leo' who explains the steps in Mandarin. It seems to be a method of using Googlifier (maybe modded) on Emui11.
https://mobileai.net/2020/11/13/huawei-emui-11-install-google-play-store-googlefier-gms/
You can use a decent browser to translate the text to English.
I have not tried this guide yet and would like to seek any concerns any one may have of the procedure. In my head all the activity is in software and any problems can be reverted by factory reseting to the base firmware of the phone. The guide does say there's a good chance it may not work for international versions but since my phone is HK origin I might be successful....
What do you all think? Worth a try?
Thanks in advance.
To my knowledge, the Chinese firmware is much easier for getting Google services installed, while the European one has been hardened to comply with the ban.

The one Leo uses is actually the same one as what bender007 posted in here (yes I did binary comparison they're identical).
The key is that LZPlay app got installed on your phone has to be able to work with your firmware, which you will know by clicking on the LZPlay app once it's installed by the Googlefier. Tried it on my P40 pro (APAC/Australia version), didn't work even after I downgraded to 10.1.0.182, I couldn't get the firmware version even lower so it's basically a deadend for me, yours might be different LZPlay might work with your HK version firmware tho.
Tried this method on ELS-AN10 with EMUI11 11.0.0.170 and it is working.
Took me around 4 hours and 7 unsuccessful tries before it was successful.
please provide all steps/details. the chinese version it's hard to follow

Hey all.
So sufficient time has past to make me feel like trying the downgrade route to try Googlifier with the above method.
I've followed the prep work on my laptop for my build using this ICTfix video for the latest 1 downgrade route.
I'm presently on EMUI 11.0.0.193 (C636E2R1P3).
Using https://firmfinder.ml I'd like to confirm thee filtered results are correct for my phone:
Downgrade version set:
ELS-LGRP6-OVS (hw-spcseas) 10.10.132
ELS-N39-CUST (hw-spcseas) 10.1.0.3 (C636)
ELS-N39-PRELOAD (hw-spcseas) 10.1.0.1(C636R1)
Does this combo for Hsuite proxy seem right to allow Googlifier to work and do I need to go to the lowest available firmware for C636? 10.1.0.142 is the next available. then 10.1.0145.
Thanks for any input you guys may share.

So, PLIIIIZ - what's the password to the archive??? THANK YOU!
The password is the full website address. Case sensitive.
Thought I give you all an update since I got no reply. So I prepped everything to do the googlifier install and tried it first with no downgrade. The process got stuck at opening the purple / blue big G icon. Basically this meant I needed to roll back the firmware. I did so using HSuite proxy and the firmfinder link and used the 3 versions I mentioned before specific for ELS-N39, c636 r1. I just hoped it didn't brick my phone! Anyway, roll back took a while to finish but was successful. Installing gms wasn't so straight forward. In the translated steps I got stuck at around the step 30s where Google store and contact syncs should behave a certain way between resetting the phone. I think the written steps missed out a few lines where you not only need to force close Google services framework and delete data, you have to do this with a few other Google services too before resetting the phone. Finally got Google play to work with no warnings. One issue is that I've lost Google Contact Sync. Probably because I had to repeat some steps...
