Smaller icons and screen scaling - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hi,
It's possible to set smaller icons (5x5 grid) and smaller screen size. I want to have more elements on screen (for example smaller messenger pop-up, more posts etc.)
I have global MIUI 8 without root

I got it. To change density i used command adb shell wm 420 (420 density which we want)

Stock Sony Lollipop Launcher (like on Z1) for Z Ultra

Hello buddies ... I am very disappointed that we recieved Lollipop which is slightly different from that on Z1/2/3 ...
Old launcher with small icons and 3x3 dot homebutton looks ugly ... especially with metarial design around it.
Would it be possible to make launcher with big icons and new homebutton for our Z Ultra? Could someone do it? .... No root

Changing Dots per Inch (oynx)

Hello everyone. I encounter some weird stuffs, which is the dpi. I'm now using exodus ROM on my Oneplus X. I changed the dpi setting from 480 to 400 through exodus setting itself. My screen turned small, app drawer shows 5 columns but not on my homescreen. So I searched through website, and I found out that, I need to change the dpi by editing build.prop. So I did. After I reboot, my homescreen can fit in 5 icons (5 columns, usually only 4, because of 480 dpi). However, my app drawer changed back to 4 columns instead of 5! Anyone know how can I solve this?

Why won't the grid size on Google Now Launcher change when I modify DPI?

As shown in screenshot, I've changed my DPI/smallest width in Developer options from 360 (default) to 400 (recommended by DPI calculator)
Everything is scaled down nicely including text, icons, and pretty much everything in the UI itself.
But what's bothering me is that the Google Now Launcher's grid won't change for some reason. It still has 4 columns and the spaces between them are so big. Shouldn't it change according to the DPI?
The Pixel Launcher I've downloaded also has the same problem. The dock adjusted fine, which is what I want because now I can put more apps within it. Now I want the same thing for the apps that are not on the dock. Why aren't they changing?
Notes:
Changing the DPI to a far larger number didn't work.
Restarting phone didn't do anything either.
Force stopping launcher didn't work too.
(Using Android 7.0 Nougat on Moto G4 Plus)

how to change the icon grid size to 5x6 or 5x7 at home screen.

I was using redmi note 5. i installed some 5x7 layout themes from mi themes app. i could able to change home screen icon layout. now i moved to POCO F1. i wanted to change same changes here, but i couldn't do it. please any one help me.
If you stop using poco theme, you will get the miui home from redmi note 5 and hence you can use the same options.

Analouge clock widget only?

Hello guys!
Hopefully a quick question to answer.
My issue is that the only clock widget I have is an analouge clock which dont have numbers. I'd really want a digital clock as shown in the preview of the themes you can chose from. I tried switching theme but still no digital clock. Also checked for settings in "clock" but no option to change its type and there is only one widget and that is the analouge one.
I've searched the internet but found no solution other than installing a 3rd party app which I dont want to do.
I got my Poco F1 yesterday and during install I chose the Nova Launcher (dont know if this matters)
Not sure if it has to do with my region (Sweden) or not, but it sure is annoying.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: My lock screen has a digital clock which I would want on my home screen as well.
Ok, so I switched to POCO launcher and now I have a digital clock, problem is, I dont like poco launcher, I really wanna use Nova. Could not find any settings about the clock in nova settings either, so is there no way? :/
Consider installing Clock app by Google. It is basically the same as stock, but widget can be used by Nova launcher.
Had exactly the same problem, after quick Googling I gave up and did what I proposed to you.
Miui themes doesn't support third party launcher for a clock. Also if you let's say change icons in Poco launcher clock so return to stock one. Here you have an example

Yeah, I will consider it.
Thanks to both of you for your quick responses, much appreciated.
If you press for a while on desktop screen you'll find a choice to add widget. choose any digital clock from the three options you see.
