I want to upgrade to nougat but i have to fast boot. i am talking about the official nougat for snapdragon
I am willing to do it but if only
1. is nougat performance better than mars mellow.
2. will my warranty be void ?
No theory cause i want to see it in real life. please tell me benchmark result or real life performance difference
Warranty? If you flash Stock Firmware your retailer wont be able to see if you really rooted or unlocked your phone. As far as I know current Nougat MIUI for Note 4 is beta, if you want stable ROM wait for MIUI 9 release

Running Nougat here (not the Miui, only custom Roms), so far its fine.
Sorry, I don't have any benchmark apps installer.
Nope, unlocking bootloader doesn't void warranty on xaiomi phones.
Unlocking does not,but Rooting does (Wtf?). But as I said, just flash stock firmware and noone will ever notice.

Who said rooting void warranty? Lol na.
Xiaomi did. And most retailers in the world.

Post the results of your PCMark Work 2.0 and Geekbench4 benchmark tests, and we can tell you whether you will get better performance on our chosen Nougat ROM.

Okay so as title says i recently bought a LeEco Le Max 2 X829 from gearbest. I had a few questions and was hoping someone here could help =).
I have searched but didn't seem to find much to help me. Well first i was wondering if i should just leave it on the rom i receive from gearbest or is that a bad idea, Also was curious if the phone would work with h2o, It has all the bands but just wanting to get verification from someone else. Thanks.
Hello @AdcMainVayne,
As far I'm concerned this phone works in most European countries and the only band that does not work is LTE Band 20, but the rest should work just as expected. When it comes to the stock firmware available on the X829, I recommend you to install a custom rom like Cuoco92, because of that the stock rom on the X829 receives no updates and comes with a very outdated version of EUI. The link to the Fastboot package for Cuoco92 can be found here.
I would flash the latest Indian ROM after wiping everything since online Chinese retailers are known to add trojans/viruses/etc. Besides the X829 ROM is abandonware and won't get any updates ever.

Flashing the indian rom for this phone would kind of not be very worthwhile as it runs on an older version of EUI and as far as I'm concerned it also runs on an older security update, so flashing a CN-based ROM with gapps would be ideal in most cases,
Thanks for the replies, I guess Cuoco92 is the best custom rom to choose from in your opinion?

If you're looking for a rom that's stable and runs EUI, I would definitely recommend Cuoco92.

I would try official linage, Resurrection remix, MIUI rom. Once you get your bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed you can try any of them. I really hated eui stock rom. Also with h2o you might have to go to a store or call them to have them add your IMEI Sim slot for service.

I see yeah ive been reading about the custom roms a bit today, guides etc. Are there any issues you've experienced with the rom's you've listed by any chance?

Sound and camera issues on rr and linage. I mean everything works and buttery smooth. Antutu 150,000 score on rr. I'm on Miui8 7.4.2.4 now I really like how smooth it is. No sound issues. Pretty stable. Kind of similar to eui. It's a a port not official. Android 6. But really like it a. Lot. Kind of hard to get it working the first time. Small eui just lags to much for me.
Crazy fast LTE and I'm on metro pcs.
I have 1 question about wich rom is the best. I am looking for an rom with exposed. Priority is nougat but if xposed isnt available it's okay. First... xposed isn't available for nougat yet so that can't be done.
As for ROM I would deffinately say Carhd rom. It's amazing all round. I used it on my G925F for over a year member any issues.
Also alexisROM is another good choice.
Have a search on here and Google for your options.
If you need help with flashing let me know :good:
Hello, I am super new to xda and to phone rooting. I've recently got a Xiamoni Redmi Note 4 and I really want to root it to unlock the FULL potential of my phone. I'll keep the rest of this thread short by asking:
1. Does MIUI Version matter? I am currently on Global 8.5 l Stable 8.5.4.0 (MCFMIED) Android Version 7.0 NRD90M I am also on a snapdragon
2. Once I unlock my bootloader, is the bootloader unlocked for good?
3. Where can I find a systemless root guide for my phone? (FOR SNAPDRAGON)
4. What are custom roms exactly? What would you suggest?
1) IDK if MIUI version seriously matters but I'd highly recommend to update it to the latest stable.
2) Bootloader is locked for the security of phones, for common users. For further read, see this.
3) Search for "Magisk". You'll VERY easily find the guide and everything you need.
4) Custom ROM is technically an OS. Very usually they're just different flavors of Android. When you flash a custom rom in your phone you're basically changing the phone's OS. You usually get the benefit of getting a smoother, clutter-free phone with a custom rom, well obviously there're risks which you know (or can google).

Nope. I can't tell anything beside these facts. Nice reply. Only that I'd suggest avoiding miui roms and once rooted, flashing of a pure, aosp based Rom.
Hi,
I just got a fresh Redmi Note 5 (4Gb, 64Gb).
Is there any advantage to root it? I usually do it on my phones, but I don't know what are the disadvantages on this one.
Besides, is there a good custom rom for stability and battery life, or the stock rom is better?
Thanks in advance for your kind advices!
No problems at all, if follow proper guidelines to root, custom roms are much better even got pie roms with latest gcam support,
Only bad thing is unlocking bootloader is still a big hassle, its butter smooth after that. ?
Hi Guys,
unfortunately i didn´t had a lot of time the last few months to read here the forums or to try different roms but ive seen that it is possible to run Pie stable on our phones. (actually on H930 Stock Oreo rooted).
Im really satisfied at the moment but of course i would upgrade my phone if it comes with more pro´s as cons - ive readen that there are still some LG known bugs/problems with Pie
So, maybe you guys can help me to decide for upgrade or not, that whats really important for me is:
Music
Actually iam using PowerAmp with Whiskeyomega´s Mods and iam really satisfied with the quality and of course volume
Ive read that Whiskeyomegas Mods arent working on pie anymore and i saw an him-force mod for pie.
Is there a way to get the earphones shout like they do with mods on oreo or is it really that bad like some ppl say?
(Maybe i should mention that ill go for rooted stock again, no AOSP or else)
Cam
Of course i want to use all features of my cam - wide angle and stuff - i want to go for rooted Stock so this shouldnt be a big problem with stock cam or is it buggy too?
Hows about development of the Pixel/Gcam ports? The most interesting thing would be night-vision?
Fast OS
When i installed Pie for first time (months ago) it was very laggy, thats why i decided then to leave Oreo on my phone.
Is it still that laggy and is there already somebody debloated it or is there a list which services can be blocked (by Titanium Backup f.e.) for more performance?
What about the different Kernels? Is there a Kernel which should perform better and more stable then stock?
Thx for your help,
regards
Ernesto

You'll get some different answers, but bottom line is current EU H930 030b is still laggy. HOWEVER, the BETA EU H930 30q (yes Q, they jumped a LOT of letters, not sure why) is very fast with all RAM management problems solved). Wait a few more days until it's officially released, we get KDZ and TWRP-flashable zip.
Yes, there are ways to fix the current EU H930 30b lagginess, but involves running custom kernel or other stuff. If you are happy right now, just wait a few more days.
I still use stock camera on stock rooted firmware. But best GCam out there right now is this:

Go to that post #1 of that thread to read the settings. But here's the download link:

Thanks for your reply - ok then ill wait for 30q KDZ or flashable .zip. So camera and a fast&stable OS shouldnt be that problem anymore.
What about the music stuff, is somebody here who used oreo with the sound mods from whiskeyomega and could compare it to the new stock pie?
