Help TWRP error - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

When i go to recovery mode. My screen divided 2, left side normal screen and right side blank screen. Can someone help or link me a tutorial. Thx..

More info please.
Excact version of twrp, did it ever work, is the issue just in twrp, right side visible where it should be or moved to tbe middle, left side pure black or flickering, showing white noise, ...?
Is touch still working in the black area?
anything you done that could be the cause.
When you pull a pic via adb do you get a a fullsize picture or is it divided also?

Thx for reply, sorry black screen i mean white noise. Nothing i can do, just restart to normal mode.
It work before i do a phone reset. Then i do tutorial install twrp, and that happen.
Wanna see my twrp version, but my laptop already reinstall os. Can i see twrp version from my handheld?

Ok, so it's whitenoise as seen in the thread about screen flickering?
Is it just in twrp or also in fastboot and android?
How did you restore?
If you used qfil with the unbrick rom then it's normal.
It's most likely an easy fix but i need more info.

Yes, left screen normal but right screen like screen flickering.

Um.. Sorry i dont understand about restore.
I read thread about unbrick, but i think, i never do something about that.
chronology:
1. I installed twrp from tutorial and successful
2. With that twrp i update my os
3. After some time i reset my phone (factory reset)
4. Now i back follow the tutorial for twrp to install new os
5. Twrp become error like i said.
Maybe i miss something about unbrick step?

mmcblk1p18 and usb mass storage

We all know by now that messing with this file can give us a real headache for sometime if not handled properly.
In my case, I´m pretty sure I DID a back up of this block before playing with it, I swear! But somehow it got corrupted and thus totally useless...
So, I´m aware that I´m doomed to boot forever and ever with the bp tools trick but what is getting me mad now is the fact that don´t have the usb mass storage mount option anymore, which is expected and we all know why.
My question: Is there any way to get the usb mounting to work? Some script, some adb, some something?! Or will be the time to call that blood-suckers from Motorola to have my razr re-enaged at once, after paying of course a serious amount of money...
If the topic of this thread has been reviewed before please erase it or close it Mods, but I did research and found nothing at all.
Any thoughts will be very appreciated for all of us in this situation!
I'm having the same issue with usb mount, my point is: I have the block18 backup, but no root anymore, so I can't restore it. Anyone know about some way to restore this without root?

fastboot flash cid?
I have my cid wiped and tried several ICS leaks and returned back to GSM aokp 4.0.4 with linux kernel 2.3.6. I do not know why, but whenever I restart my phone, it boots to cwm recovery and then after choosing "reboot now" my phone will reboot to normal. As it is not booted from BP TOOLS, usb mass storage works as usual.
Maybe you could try that or wait for kernel 3.0.8 aokp ROM.

If I understand right > you flashed an Custom Rom, based on 2.3.6 over an Leak?
Could you please tell me, what Rom you use for that? I would give it an try!
Your RazR boots into CWM because Customs got CWM on Boot by default. That's normal.

Hi guys
You dont need to install a custom rom to get cwm at boot. Instead use forcecwm script by @whirleyes

It's enough to install Bootstrap ICS & The usual CWM on Boot from J.Y.
For me it works flawless and i restored my Nandroid of the Leak three times till now.

I don't think you can restore it WITHOUT root. getting root can be easily done by using those root scripts (1 click bat script). just make sure you hold vol+ and vol- each time the screen turns black to enter bp menu, and then choose bp tools.
if superuser is not installed correctly at the 3rd reboot, you have to find a way to get superuser.apk onto your phone.
option 1: get your superuser.apk uploaded to somewhere on the web and download it to your phone.
option 2: use a card reader to tranfer superuser.apk to sdcard.
option 3: bluetooth transfer with another phone/computer.
now install superuser.apk, you'll get root, and then you get a chance to restore mmcblk1p18.

I'm having exactly the same issue. I did a backup, but I found the mmcblk1p18 backup (512KB) was filled out with only 0000.... (placeholders) AFTER I wiped cid.
now both internal and external storage no longer shows up on computer. and the phone can't even detect device thru adb, so I can't pull/push files anymore.
I'm now using AirDroid to transfer files back and forth. if the file is too big, I use a card reader. but it's still a pita after all.
it's been 2 months since you started this thread, have you found a way to get usb storage back to work? and any thoughts on other people's mind?
to get usb mass storage working after format mmcblk1p18 you can install Boot Menu Manager and tick Custom init (via 2nd-init)
Questions belong in Q&A

[Q] How to flash a rom onto a Defy with broken rom and WITHOUT root, CWM etc

Hello.
I've had a Defy for almost 2 years with a stock ROM and yesterday decided to try a CyangenMod. I ran 2ndInit and installed a cyanogen through CWM option, the phone rebooted and that's all. Now it just shows a Moto logo and nothing more.
When I turn it on, I can't get into CWM manager because it doesn't show blue sign. I can't also use RSD - when I connect my phone in turned on condition to PC, RSD doesn't see it. It seems to me that the only option to get any ROM on the device is to use 2e recovery.
I tried to install plenty of stock ROMs from http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Motorola_Defy#How_to_root_your_Defy, but 2e refuses, saying it doesn't pass verification. Though some of links to signed ROMs are already broken.
What can I do to repair it?...
Hi, use google for search your sbf. Or when you have a defy plus i can send the sbfs as email.

Did I brick this phone?

So today I was very foolish and formatted the System folder on an HTC Vivid that had cm-10-20131006-NIGHTLY-holiday installed. Needless to say, I no longer had an operating system . . .
I am still able to go into Recovery (TWRP), and I have successfully reflashed the build of Cyanogenmod. However, after booting, it is always stuck on the loading screen. I do not (and apparently cannot) have USB debugging enabled, so using fastboot or developer tools is out of the question.
What to do? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Maybe your CM is stable insufficiently.
Try an more stable ROM.
I was used to use an HTC phone which had this problem.
Do full wipe.

I had a bricked HTC Velocity 4G and fortunately TWRP was still functioning from the Factory Reset Choice of my Boot List. So I tried many, one, the most sucessful, and gave me back full operation except WiFi, was: HOLICS_1.3_official_en_release.zip. it's link is available from this website if you read the forum on HTC Vivid/Raider/Velocity.
I am going to try and get my WiFi working with an Add-In before I completely forget that one? Good luck Amigo. Happy Flashing

Hi sir! Just asking what is the key combination to access the recovery? I also tried to flash twrp via spft but, unfortunately, i cant go to recovery despite of any effort. I already tried the volume up + power combination, volume down + power conbination, but still, nothing happens.
Die you try vol up + Power, and Release power and still Hold volume, when it Turns on?

[GUIDE] Updating any ROM with Magisk installed on your device

So I was looking for an answer of being stuck in the bootanimation and I found the answer. I've gave this tip on some ROM threads and one guy has finally tried and the result was positive. And today, with Pixel Experience update, I was able to confirm that this method works so I wanted to tell you guys that you won't need to clear data anymore.
Before the ROM update, you will need to flash the stock boot.img in Magisk. Use "Uninstall" button and click on the "RESTORE IMAGES" button. This is supposed to keep your modules, but I haven't tried it since I was getting some sort of error that claims I don't have any backup, but I do.
Another way is to flashing the stock boot.img in the firmware update file of your current version, not the version that you are updating. It's supposed to work in theory and should keep the modules you have. Haven't tested it yet.
And lastly flashing the Uninstaller.zip. It'll remove your modules too, so get ready to install them all again, so keep a Screenshot of them if there are plenty of them.
After doing one of these three, you are good to go with installing the update. They will work on any ROM, including miui.
Ps: In latest magisk releases, after restoring the stock boot image and flashing something from recovery, it appears that magisk reflashes itself again after the flashing is done. This means if you are going to update system, you only need to restore boot.img and install the update, magisk will install itself after the update.
Please note that your kernel will need to be flashed again if you are using a different kernel.
Have a great day.
