Got the following message from JR on Friday night about my ATP. There goes another preorder not met. I'm going to call them and make sure it's canceled. Still got one at a local gamestop. Come on GS...don't fail me, you're the last hope.
We are sorry to inform you that the following item(s) you ordered
are currently not in stock. We have these on order with the manufacturer,
and hope to have them available shortly. We sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause you. Please be assured that we are doing our
best to obtain these for you as quickly as possible. If this is a "special
order" or a "pre-order" item, please be aware that this email is
automatically sent on all orders that are waiting for stock to arrive.
There is no need to contact us for a substitution on pre-orders or special
orders. If you would like to contact us, please use the information below.
I pre-ordered mine from J&R on the 24th... and they said it'll ship to me after New Years.
Unfortunately we will not receive stock on this until after the holidays. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Thank you for writing. We hope we have addressed your concerns. You can reach us at 1(800)426-6027 or 1(718)340-0397 Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm Eastern, Saturday 9-5 if you require additional assistance.
So when you say "after the holidays", do you mean after Christmas, but
still within December, or do you mean sometime early next year in
January?
Thank you for your inquiry.
Based on the information provided to us by our supplier, we expect you order to ship after the new year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We truly appreciate the time you took to write to us and hope that we have addressed your concerns. If we may be of further assistance, please call us at 800-426-6027 or 718-340-0397 Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm EST, Saturday 9-5, or write to us again.
Thank you!

Their CS rep told me that the backorder email is simply a form response to everyone who had a pre-order so it doesn't really mean anything yet.

I pre-ordered my note 3 on Sept 6th like a lot of you. However I am porting over my number from Sprint. Port orders are good for 30 days and then get canceled. When my port order was canceled, so was my phone pre-order. This all happened yesterday Oct 6th. I was on the phone with Verizon order support at 7 a.m. this morning to find all this out. The guy was very helpful, explained what had happened and reordered for me, but now I'm not sure where I'm at in line. He said he was working with a supervisor to bump my order status due to this issue and me not being notified. If I had not been checking my order every few days, I would not have known.
Just a word of caution for anyone porting your number!

I did think about that but with all the "Backorder" online talk over the weekend, I thought I'd be better off voicing my frustration and having them overnight it to me. I have 13 more lines to move from Sprint and I wanted to let them know this is not the way to earn my business.
Sorry to hear that you lost your place in line but, on the other hand, happy to see someone jump ship from Sprint to Verizon. Made that move myself a few years ago when Verizon offered unlimited data and took advantage of the recent subsized upgrade without losing unlimited.
Please keep all conversation to orders and shipping to oldest thread available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46056171

Have a great day!
I tried to return my Note 7 to best buy today and was told they no longer have them for sale so the SKU has been removed from the system. This means they are also unable to accept returns of the product since it "is no longer in the system". The rep explained that details of the situations status were on the Best Buy website, but I can not locate them. has anyone else run into this / found the information?
That really burns my bacon when corporate can decide to delete any product like that in order to avoid dealing with the fallout of any issues while maintaining their hold on my cash (purchased in full). Once this is resolved I'll be done with Best Buy since in their eyes the customer is the "Worst Guy".
EDIT: Found it here http://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp/gal...748302046994.c?id=pcmcat748302046994&CMP=ocss While it claims in store return, it just isn't so.
call corp monday morning and threaten legal action if they do not refund your purchase ! i would also post this on
their Facebook page !
Just returned mine yesterday at Bestbuy. They tried to charge me a restocking fee. I argued with them and got them to reverse it. Then this morning I received this.
I'm assuming the carriers will reverse your upgrade as well even if it's beyond the 14 day policy?

Yes
Another thing you could try is the Best Buy forums, they are often far better in helping out than people in the stores or on the phone. It often takes a bit before they reply, but they're usually better with resolving the issue I found.
publicly shaming them on Facebook works wonders !
there is a huge thread on Best Buy Note 7 returns on Android Central. Best Buy sucks and i would
never buy from them !
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-7/719920-best-buy-note-7-recall-thread.html
Best buy seams to have a different policy depending on which store you go to(no matter whats in print) and none of them are good. Rookies and Greed.
We have 2 note 7s, one is a cracked screen and they are refusing the overheating cracked one (even though.Samsung is taking then back in any condition). Plus best buy isnt giving ATT customers and interim Samsung device like Samsung states.
I dont think best buy understands Samsung's goal here-GET ALL NOTE 7s off the street) no matter the cost due to future liability. High or low risk its still a risks and more phone fires are rolling in as time goes by.
Best Buy sucks and they should be embarrassed on how they are/aren't handling this. Never will I.purchase a phone from best buy again and I suggest other to stay clear from them as well.
Here is another phone incident in the states. Note: article image must be generic and is note a note like. The incident in video does show the note 7
http://boston.cbslocal.com/2016/09/04/samsung-galaxy-note-7-recall-phone-explodes-winthrop/
Thanks for posting. I believe that's the first documented incident in the US.
I'm actually a connections manager for best buy and we've already pulled all Note 7's out of inventory and we are taking back Note 7's with no questions asked. They can either exchange it or get their full money back + any accessories they purchased with it. There might be some bad stores out there but rest assured mine is not.

This doesn't pass the smell test. The note 7 is from an old youtube that was posted a few days before the alleged explosion.
I checked up of my post in the BB forums requesting clarification of return issues I'm having at BB #665 this morning. It has been deleted by forum mods for a 2nd time.

dispute the charge with your credit card, tell them it's being globally recalled and
BB won't take it back !
I took mine back to best buy yesterday started at the best buy mobile store ended up at the main store, was told at first to keep device it wasnt going to explode the main store apologized and took my note 7 gave me a s7 edge to use till the note 7 is back on the streets. Allowed me to keep the sd card and put my name on a list to call me when they have new batch in to come pick it up. I started off pissed but the main store made things right.

So for those who bought n7 from kjiji or craigslist and have no bill of sale, apparently you can email [email protected] and get a replacement for your n7. No refund unless you got a bill of sale. Has anyone tried this? I sent them an email for my n7 so we will see what happens. Here is their reply so far:
"Dear Valued Customer
Thank you for contacting Samsung Note7 Exchange and Refund Support Team.
In order to process your request, please provide the following information:
Name:**
Address:*******
Phone Number:**
Email:*
Model Number:**
IMEI:***
Place of Purchase:*****
For a full refund of your Note7 device, we will require a Bill of Sale. Customers eligible for a refund will be shipped a pre-paid-address box to return Note7 devices. Once we receive all returned devices a refund will be issued. This will take approximately 2-4 weeks based on the agreement date. Agreement date is reflective on the date that your device is shipped back.
If you do not have a bill of sale then you may qualify for a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge exchange*. Customers eligible for an exchange will be shipped a pre-address box to return Note7 devices. Once we receive all returned devices a refund will be issued. This will take approximately 2-4 weeks based on the agreement date. Agreement date is reflective on the date that your device is shipped back. *Based on product availability and customers eligibility.*
Note: If your device was not purchased from an authorized Canadian Carrier and Retailer promotional offer will not be provided. Promotional offer is specific to each Carrier and Retail partner.
Please allow for 2 business days for your request to be processed once all of the above information is provided.
Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.* As a recalled product, it is mandatory that all Note7 original and replacement devices be returned.
For Note7 general return inquiries, Canadian customers should contact 1-855-747-6520.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Samsung Note7 Exchange and Refund Support Team"
Update: so Samsung got bk to me and I can exchange my n7 to s7 edge.. Yay
"Dear Valued Customer,
*
Thank you for contacting Samsung Note7 Exchange and Refund Support Team.
*
Your case is categorized under 3rd party purchase; which means you purchased your device from an unauthorized reseller (for example: Craigslist, Kajiji, EBay, Private seller) that only qualifies for a Galaxy S7 Edge exchange.
*
We will ship a pre-paid- address box to your shipping address so you can promptly return your Note7 recalled device to Samsung as instructed.
*
Once we receive your Note 7 device through our system, we will promptly issue you a new S7 Edge device as an exchange.
*
This will take approximately 2-3 weeks based on the agreement date.
*
The agreement date is reflective on the date that your device is shipped back to Samsung."
Nov 23 Update 2 got the shipping box from enr support and sent my n7 today. Let's see how long it takes for them to send me my replacment s7 edge.
Update Dec 21 got an email from Samsung that they received new stocks and will ship my replacement in couple of days. This makes it exactly a month since i sent my N7 for replacement.
that is correct as far as i know.
I have bought another note 7 aside from my own for a friend. Unfortunately was not able to unlock it.
They gave her the same email for exchange. I will wait for few more people on the unlock code if it is unsuccessful then we will have to return the device to samsung and get s7 edge+100$ gift card.
As for my personal note 7, even tho it has 60% battery im keeping this until the end.
Now as far as the program itself and whether or not you get the return, i do not know. Keep us updated if you go for it before i do.

Will do. I would have kept mine too and don't mind the 60% battery cap but i hate the annoying popups. Plus sooner or later they will blacklist and I can't afford to buy another phone.
I bought one off of Kijiji, and I want to return it to Samsung for an exchange since Rogers won't let me return it to them - but what if the guy who sold it to me already returned the original one to Samsung? Mine has a green battery, so I know it's a replacement device.
I'm just worried about sending my $1000 phone to Samsung and having them say that they already sent the other guy an S7!

Imho you're lucky to have received an answer that quickly. Or maybe I'm just unlucky. Here is a list of my interactions with Samsung Customer support so far:
-Chat support saying she will transmit my information to the exchange team and I should receive an email from them "as soon as possible"
-Phoning Samsung Canada, who said (at the time) they couldn't do anything if I bought the phone on Kijiji.
-Phoning the Note 7 Return number, who took my infos and said they would transmit it to Samsung Canada exchange team (even if I said chat support had already done so).
-After two weeks, having another chat support who did the same thing but was unable to tell me if I had a support ticket ongoing.
-Samsung Office of the President customer support complain, received a confirmation email saying they would answer the next business day... 10 business days later, they still haven't.
-Another chat support who FINALLY informed me of the existence of the enrsupport email adress for Note 7 exchange. Sent them an email the same day as you (except in the morning). Didn't get an answer yet.
Any tips? Should I just wait? They never wanted to say how long was "as soon as possible", but seeing they seem to have been more reactive with other people... I just dunno what to do.

It took awhile for me too to get a reply from them... 3days. But the first email was right away... Asking for info...automatic. Just wait a bit they will get to you. I think the enrsupport devision was created newly to deal with cases like ours and perhaps that is why Samsung online chat nd phone had no clue what to do.

I restored to original Rom for my phone in odin nd then used package disabler pro to permanently disable updates.
E-mailed them 4 days ago with all the info they requested in their auto-reply, no reply from Samsung...
When I ordered my Pixel 6. I was quoted $366 for my Pixel 5. Google received my P5 on November 2nd and has not done a thing since then.
Anyway has anyone done the same and received there credit?
On a side note, I did the trade in because selling on Ebay is nothing but hassle now days. You have to pay Ebay, PayPal, taxes, etc. With little profit. And hope that there is no shipping mishaps.
Thx, vandyman

That's too long. I got my $366 about 3 or 4 days after they received it, maybe 5 max. Time to give them a chat request have them find it and process it.
Just FYI eBay and PayPal parted ways a while ago and no longer do business together. With that said the fee turns out to be the same 13%. I don't know why you think selling on eBay is a hassle these days.. at least it's no more of a hassle than it's ever been. You can also use Swappa.
Google's shipping department is notoriously unreliable. From hours I've spent on the phone with them I've gathered that the shipping department is in control of many aspects of product fulfillment and the person you talk to can only make requests or tickets to them and they deal with it as they see fit.
I ordered a pixel 6 less than 2 weeks ago, got an email saying my shipment would be delayed, then the next day got an email saying my phone had been shipped.
When I ordered the pixel 2 XL they sent me two of them by accident. One of them had cracked glass. Both sealed in retail boxes.
I have a friend who ordered a phone from them and all he got was a sealed retail box with no phone in it. Of course they didn't believe him so he got stuck with the bill.
Contact Google and explain the situation. It could just be the timing being off or it could be a bug on your order. In any case it's best to start a history now with the support team just in case things go sour.

Shipping is slightly different than the returns. New devices are usually sent from Carol, Il I believe but returns go to Tennessee. I just checked @vandyman and I sent mine back on November 6th from the PO, they received it on Nov 10th and I got the credit on my account on the 11th. Also check out this new thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/ripped-off-by-google.4362429/ Something is amiss and Google needs to become aware of what is happening.
Yes my trade in was delivered in Tennessee on November 2.
I am on the Google store chat waiting list now.
I got a quote from Google for $159 on my Pixel 4xl, but decided to sell it on eBay. The last time I did a trade in with Google, they undercut my estimate by $75 and the phone was in mint condition.
I sold the pixel 4xl for a hundred more than what Google quoted me for, but after eBay fees I only cleared with $50.
So bottom line is you're going to take it up the @$s either way, it's just a way who gentler
I am still on a chat with Google support.
It sounds like they lost it.
To be continued....
Follow up!
I received an email that my Pixel 5 is better than what I have described. Lol
But they are only going to credit me the $366 that they offered on the trade in deal.
Email says it will take 3 - 5 days to see my account credited with the $366.
Geez....
