My mobile data speed became sluggish after I unlocked my bootloader of my REDMI Note 3 SD. I've checked the same sim card on another phone and it works smoothly, also I flashed fastboot ROM (used 'clean all' not the 'clean all and lock') but problem still exists. Now I am using Resurrection Remix 7.1. Pls help my 4g data speed feels like 2g.

After I try upgrading the ROM everything seems to work great (GPS, WiFi, stability, etc) except the phone part (phone radio? Sorry I don’t quite know the terminology). Here is kind of the “events” as they happened
Recently
Working phone (i9100)
upgraded/flashed to newer Resurrection Remix ROM
phone asking for sim unlock code (but can see mobile operators, just won’t connect)
tried Galaxy S Unlock and it worked (kinda, had to run Galaxy S Unlock everytime I rebooted phone)
Now
Upgraded to AOKP ROM
Phone asked to unlock sim again
This time Galaxy S Unlock didn't work
Went back to really old backup (year ago)
It asked me for SIM unlock code
I ran Galaxy S Unlock and it worked (even after reboots)
Tried restoring certain parts (advance restore in CWM)
nothing worked.
Restored to really old backup again
didn't ask for sim unlock code.
Tried/flashed the newst RR again, and now back to Phone (calls) not working again
I am stumped. I would like to upgrade to one of AOKP's or RR's newer ROMs but can't understand why it doesn't work or how to resolve this. Any suggestions would really be appreciated!
Cheers,

Thoughts? Anyone? Please
Use a ROM Wipe/Nuke script, do a clean install of the ROM and use GalaxSim Unlock app. :good:

Thanks for the response immortalneo, i guess I have a question regarding that. Before I flash the new ROM (while booted in recovery mode in CWM) I usually do the wipe cache/factory reset.
Should I perhaps be doing a wipe davlik and wipe partition cache also?

That is what a ROM nuke/wipe script does. It wipes everything and provides a clean slate for your new ROM. Look for hawkerpaul's scripts.

Hello guys, so i have a new redmi note 3 pro kenzo with MIUI 8 Global 6.12.22 Beta and i have a few problems. When i call people they can't hear me really well, but when i put speaker mode they can hear me perfectly. I saw many people have the same problem but i didn't find a solution that worked.
The second problem is my Data does not work. I have available megabytes on my sim card and when i enable Data it doesn't work, i tried both on 4G and 3G network, but still the same problem. Also i checked my carrier internet settings and they seem fine.
So i thought to flash a custom rom or maybe xiaomi.eu rom or something like that and maybe it solves my problems but i have locked bootloader and i have just applied for an unlock permission and i read that it takes many days and i cannot wait that many days because my phone is unusable without data.
What do you guys advise me to do? Unlock the phone with unofficial method? What rom should i flash? Is there anyway to fix my problems without flashing any rom at all?
Thank you very much for your time, i hope someone know to help me!
I will suggest you to go for official unlock rather than unofficial coz its safer than unofficial. As for your problem you can try Global stable Rom by flashing through EDL mode.

ok so i installed global stable through edl but the microphone problem is still there. i even downgraded to 7.3.6 global and again the same... I am out of ideas guys, so disapointed with redmi note 3, i can't use it to make calls so it's kinda useless...
Did you select clean all option on Mi Flash tool. If not than try to flash again selecting clean all option.

yes i selected and this is where it gets crazy. when i installed 7.3.6 global stable it also installed swiftkey and some other apps. So then i installed 8.1.1.0 global stable again using mi flash selecting clean all option of course but these application remained in the phone! and even crazier now i can't choose Greek Locale! When i first installed this same 8.1.1.0 global stable it didn't have swiftkey and it had Greek locale option!
This is so crazy i have no idea what is going on. I think the clean all option does not wipe the phone correctly. Do you have any idea how to wipe the phone completely?
hii will this method works on MIUI9 stable?
Hello everyone !
I have a problem : When I flash a rom (Nougat or Marshmallow), I do not have any mobile data. I can always make calls and receive messages but when I activate the data, I do not have the symbol 3g or 4g and impossible to go on the internet (it tells me that I am not connected to any network) or Receive MMS.
I tried several ROMs based on Android 6 and 7 but the problem is the same, I also tried to flash different firmwares but it does not change anything while on Xiaomi.eu or stock MIUI ROM I have no problems.
I checked the IMEI and the APN, everything is correct.
I also tried the VoLTE patch (Android 6&7) but it did not change anything.
So I'm asking you the question: Do any of you have a solution?
I use the lastest Resurrection Remix ROM with the MIUI firmware (7.3.9 by @reemar)

Thanks for your quick reply !
I do not understand very well, once in phone information, what should I do exactly?
Thank you in advance !
I've been encountering similar issues with no data available... what helped me is I simply installed ROM I wanted and then restored EFS (partition or whatever it is) from a ROM backup I am sure data works....
Just check your APN settings...
I had similar issues after installing some google apps packages - don't remember which exactly. Try to install fresh rom without Gapps and check if problem still exists. If not, look for good Gapps. It took me whole day to find which caused this.

I have had a problem with mobile data transmission on Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (Lavender). I installed various custom rom Android 12 and unfortunately on any of them I had no internet connection via Mobile Data. WiFi worked, phone calls also ...
Here's what helped me:
1. I installed a custom rom based on MIUI (of course, first Orangefox, and then MiUI Wolf Os for Lavender). After installation, everything worked, there was an internet connection via Mobile Data. The SIM card was even on Sloat 2 and everything worked!
2. I installed Awaken OS 2.9 for Lavender (with gapps). When I was asked to insert the SIM card during the installation, I put it into the slot 1. Unfortunately, Awaken 2.9 does not support the mobile internet on the slot 2.
Why does this solution help? Because this way of installing Awaken OS does not destroy firmware from Xiaomi. I hope it helps you too and will work too for you
Hello guys,
as the title says I am currently with the mobile data connection not being established on custom ROMs, the official MIUI ROM works fine. Before trying to go to LineageOS 14.1 I ran this 13.1 ROM for quite some time successfully.
This is what I did since trying to migrate to Andoid 7.1:
I flashed the latest MIUI Global Dev ROM, this locked my bootloader again, so I tried this for installing TWRP and custom ROMs with locked bootloader and this for unlocking the bootloader unofficially. Both methods generally worked, but mobile data did work on neither of them (I checked for the correct APN).
So I tried to go back to the LineageOS 13 ROM (clean flash, since I accidentally deleted my backup) I used before, but it also does not work on that version anymore.
Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be or how I could possibly find out what causes this?
Edit: I am now actually back to the latest MIUI Global Dev and hoping that I am able to unlock the bootloader officially eventually. But any tips on the issue above would still be appreciated.
Edit 2: On the 8.0 NitrogenOS mobile data does work. I first thought that it yet had to be an APN problem, so I copied the settings from this ROM to the LineageOS 14.1 ROM and deleted all other APNs, but that actually did nothing, it still did not work. So I guess I will stay on 8.0 for now, although I wanted 7.1 because of XPosed.
Edit 3: Suddenly stopped working on Android 8. Seems to work on the first boot after flashing a Android 8 ROM and then not anymore. Going back to MIUI...
This post helped me with the issue. After a soft reboot mobile data just works fine even after enabling/disabling airplane mode.

Did you find a persistent method to solve the problem?
I have the same problem but Mobile Data only works after first boot and first soft reboot - than never ever.
BTW it works on MIUI ROMS without any problem.

Hello
2 days ago i was trying to flash LineageOS 17.1 on my redmi note 3 (kenzo). Here it said i need latest MIUI GS 10.2.1.0 so i flashed it using TWRP, rebooted, then tried to flash LineageOS but i couldn't because i got error 7 "this package is for device kate kenzo this device is ." so i googled it and found a post here by user LeoYL that i need to change lines in META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script and i just deleted those lines since my device for some reason wasnt recognised as neither kenzo nor kate, then i could flash without any problems, then i rebooted again and flashed those gapps. When i rebooted to system, my SIM card was not detected, my IMEI was shown as "unknown" and my WI-FI wasnt working either (i dont know if bluetooth worked, i didnt check since i never really use it anyway).
After that i thought it was some sort of LineageOS problem, so i tried flashing Bliss and Evolution-X but had same problems on those.
Before all of this i was using LineageOS 14.1 for like 3 or 4 years (a long time anyway) and right before flashing MIUI 10.2.1.0 everything was working perfectly fine. I'm also 100% sure my phone is Kenzo since MIFlash won't let me flash any Kate software but Kenzo software is getting flashed with no problems. I tried to fastboot flash MIUI 10.1.1.0 for Kenzo (i couldn't find fastboot flash for 10.2.1.0, so i flashed 10.1.1.0), 10.2.1.0 for Kate, (i deleted lines in flash_all_lock.bat responsible for checking whether device is Kate or Kenzo and then MiFlash let me flash it) but it wasn't working on both.
I checked 3 different SIM cards, two different ones for slot 1, and one for slot 2, none of them worked on my phone while they worked fine on 2 other phones i have.
Ever since then i was trying to fix this and after countless attempts, with this guide's help i managed to get my phone to a state in which my WI-FI is working, SIM card is detected, IMEI is there, but still i have no signal. This guide says that i need to flash the QCN file but i didn't backup mine so i tried flashing the one in attachments and all it did was make my phone again not detect any SIM card, IMEI shown as unknown and WI-FI not working. I found another QCN file in some XDA thread (cant find it right now) and flashed it but it didn't fix my issue.
Sorry that this post is quite long but i wanted to include all info i can. I hope that someone actually can figure out what is wrong with my phone. Thanks in advance for all replies.

If u get error 7. Then u should use twrp 3.3.1 latest official.
Never flash miui rom using twrp. Always cLean flash fastboot rom using pc.

My phone detects SIM card but i have no signal, when i try to call someone i get an error that says i need to turn off airplane mode so i tried turning it on and off but it didnt fix anything.

Thats what happen when u dont know the simple thing about what model u r using. And remain confuse Whether u bought kenzo or kate. ?
And u keep on experimenting and flashing kenzo , kate, kenzo, kate on ur phone to try some luck and finally destroys ur modem.
What makes u thing that if calls doesnt work on miui but it will work on los 17 rom.
Did u official unlock ur bootloader??

Yes i have unlocked bootloader in official way.
I wasnt confused whether my phone is kenzo or kate, i knew it was kenzo. I only started "experimenting" because i was looking for a solution to my problem on google and there were a lot of different guides on fixing my phone. I flashed kate MIUI once to "try my luck" as you said. Modem got broken probably after flashing MIUI using TWRP instead of fastboot when i was flashing before first attempt at installing lineageos 17.1. To be honest I didn't know that it makes any difference. When i bought the phone a couple of years ago I flashed lineageos 14.1 without any problems and it was just working so I didn't really expect anything to go wrong this time.
Anyway, i know what i did was quite stupid when i look at it from today's perspective, i am just looking for a way to fix it now :/

Kate comes with extra band 20. U cant flash kate modem files on kenzo. Hardware wont accept it.
Kate miui rom also contains kate modem files.
Try to Flash kenzo old fastboot rom. May be older miui 7 based on lollipop.
