That's why I use CM based ROM
I had follow the instruction from : here
but I got stuck in mi logo
and the other problem is, when I flash the ROM it can't enter to TWRP recovery
to able to enter TWRP it needs to be re-unlocked and go back to MIUI via MiFlash and re-flash TWRP again
I tried to re-unlock and flash TWRP only without go back to MIUI (the process was succesful, but it can't booted up to TWRP)
The problem exist in CM13 based with fingerprint compatible
- Santhos build after fingerprint compatible
- Mokee ROM
- CM13 flour mo build
The only ROM I can't use are CM12.1 or CM13 with fingerprint uncompatible (without bootloader being relocked)
but unlike this version because the battery drain is very fast (Android OS, and system used more battery than SOT)
I can't use MIUI and AOSP because random reboot issue that I have mentioned in my first thread
Anyone please help, this phone is driving me crazy :crying:

How do i upgrade from MiUi 7.3.7 LP to MiUi 8.1.1.0 MM??
I have the full rom zip..I tired with TWRP,official recovery both not working
twrp ends up in bootloop and with stock recovery nothing happens

flash lazy flasher after the room along with su.zip
or unlock after flashing , it will boot then
tried already but it's not booting..

What is the condition of your phone right now? Tell everything
procedure***
dwnld alka twrp
1.dwnld latest miui recovery rom
2.flash it directly ,if using official unlock
3.now boot into fastboot mode directly with recovery with pluging phone to pc
4.now use mi-unlock to unlock ur phone again.
5.simply reboot.
6.insert a working data sim or connect wifi after appearing setup
7.verify ur miui a/c.
8.thats all.

You can flash latest miui EU weekly to go back to miui (it doesnt lock the BL), you can flash almost anything (Lineage OS, RR,...) and flash eu weekly to go back to miui. BL will get locked upgrading/downgrading android LP to MM or MM to LP will lock BL and some roms also lock BL (like multirom stable 8.1.0.0, some custom roms,firmwares)
I always ended with brick if flashed official miui tbrough twrp and have tried cofface twrp,zcx,..

OK ... what you say is i can use twrp to flash CM 13 OR CM 14 Or AOSP ROMS or MIUI EU ROMS all from twrp any time and every thing will be OK as long as i will not flash OFFICIAL MIUI
and here i will not need any PC even when i am on CM 14 OR CM 13 then flashing any MIUI EU from TWRP ZCX
AND what about if i restored my STOCK OFFICIAL TWRP BACKUP ??? will it be OK ??

But some custom roms also locks BL(it would say so usually)
Also multirom 8.1.0.0 locked BL and official ROMs...
I do that: Use ZCX twrp, clean flash always (have all partitions backed on sd and all files for flashing on sd)
Wipe all except sd, flash CM13/14 or any other rom that doesnt relocks BL. Then if I want to go back to MiUi, just wipe all again and flash EU ROM (it does not lock).
So that way you can switch ROMs without PC...
If it flashes and turn off after flashing it means BL got locked, you must go in fastboot and unlock it with MiUnlock.
I think restoring official will also relock BL...
Just be sure to have backup of all 44partitions (EFS,Modem,radio..) in case you lose radios or imei...

How to do that i did full backup from zcx from my first stock miui once i flashed it ... is this what you mean or zcx can't make this special backup?
and can i make this backup from any rom that is working with me or i should return to stock again ?

can i do this once i put the phone in fastboot and use miunlock and open twrp then flash another rom - or i have to first go back to stock miui then RE unlock bbotloader then flash new recovery ...... bla bla bla
Yeah I use zcx to backup all partitions also Alka can do this too. So if you did full backup with Zcx you are good to go
If it blinks and turns off, BL got locked. You must only go in fastboot, connect with PC, log in to MiUnlock, click unlock and reboot. No need to flash stock miui with MiFlash...
When i try to restore the backup, on rebooting, it shows wrong password. Same problem with both CM and MIUI roms.

You must be connected to internet while loging in on initial boot up...sometimes server is offline, try multiple times, reboot... Or try flashing miui eu weekly 6.11.3 first
How are you booting to twrp?
You must turn off device
,hold power and volume up, when mi logo appears, release power and keep holding volume up until you see twrp.

i think my bootloader is locked and i did restor flash from the beginning edl mode and i am booting now from stock again ... nice to do that and thank you for your concern
i will unlock again and flash twrp again
the question is why is that happened i was in rr 6 then i wipped and flash miui.eu ( i flashed the same version before and it worked fine )

my problem was i forgot to reset factory settings after each change from cm to miui
but i think there is another solution instead of wipping all internal data every time i change cm to miui and miui to cm romsss

Flash custom kernel like Arsenic or Blackreactor after Gapps should boot. Also did you update your bootloader?

If you did not unlocked bootloader properly then also you might face the problem...

make sure you follow all the step. (If you didn't followed these steps then lock bootloader and unlock using this mathod , Worked for me as i faced same issue as you.)

Use official method to unlock, unofficial method is risky and no longer supported. Till then flash stock MIUI Global Stable using EDL mode.

It's on bootloop cause the bootloader is locked again.
Check if the bootloader is locked again. If it doesn't follow-
First: use ZCX recovery which disables the dm-verify which helps not to lock bootloader with roms/miui roms.
Second: after flashing rom, flash lazy flasher so that the rom can boot up, search and you will get that zip.
Third: don't flash firmware without checking if it locks the bootloader again.
Now flash any rom with that recovery and after flashing, flash lazy flasher and it should boot fine. Check the tutorials to learn more about these mods.
Though it would be better if you unlock officially.
