me and my girl friend have T-mobile phones (actually, all my friends do, my friend sells them)... anyways
i took her sim card, put it into my pocket pc phone, and it keeps telling me to insert a valid sim card..
took it out, put it back in, soft reset, hard reset, nothing
sub consiusly, i got into the boot loader... get out of it and my cooked rom was gone. all my programs were there still, but things i had lost when i put a new rom in like the battery meter on the bottom bar of the today screen came back, and other specific T-Mobile features came back
like i sayed, program wise, everything is there, but the old stuff came back
any reason why ? i did a hard reset after to see, and the rom kitchen screen came up, the one that comes up before u go into the today screen, so the rom is still in there
just wondering. everyhting works fine, online and phone

If you remove items from the startup folder they are replaced when you do a hard reset.
I have an HTC Amaze that every time I turn on the phone it asks for an network unlock code. I bought the code, and the phone accepts the code, but after it restarts it asks for the the unlock code again. I reflashed the phone to ICS found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335368 but that did not solve the problem.
Did you try another SIM card? It may be your SIM card that needs to be replaced.
Back up your data and do a factory reset. Did you biy the phone from T-Mobile or used? I would do a factory restore and see what happens.
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
I have done a factory reset, restored to ICS, and tried 2 different tmobile sims and a spare att sim i had lying around and it all had the same problem. I would send it in for warranty, but i bought it on ebay.
Try and call T-Mobile. Don't say you got it from eBay. Say it was a birthday gift and it started happening a few days ago. They may allow you to exchange it.
Galaxy Note Horror.
Have been getting No SIM CARD error since last 2-3 months now and am losing my head.
Please please somebody suggest a fix.
Here is what all I have tried since start.
My battery Life was getting erratic - replaced the battery. (no sim error went away for a week).
Factory reset randomly helps (no sim error returns within 6-8 hours).
Clear cache, Dalvik, everythiong (no sim error returns within 1-2 days)
Un root and Completely went to Stock (no sim error returns within 1-2 days)
Tried a New Sim - No luck
Used Titanium backup to clean user cache etc etc
Tried paper trick begind sim to make sure sim in in proper contact.
Used ODIN to complete reflash to Stock GB and then update to JB via KIES ((no sim error returns within 1-2 days))
I am out of options now. I love this phone and hate to see what its doing now.
Please please somebody help...
Send it in for repair with Samsung.
It seems like it may be a problem with the SIM card part. You may want to try replacing it yourself, but no guarantees.

If thats the case, why does it work fora day or 2
I have been thinking abt doing it myself, because samsung says they will chanrge minimum, 70$ for the part change and no guarantees.
I don't know why it would work for day or 2. Just a suggestion, since that is the only thing you have not tried.

Thinking of trying one last thing before replacing the SIM Card clot.
Will flashing the Tmobile on ATT make a difference ?
Looking at what you have tried so far, I don't think T-mobile/ATT will make a difference. But, I guess you can try.

Yes you guessed it right. Tried Skeleton Key ROM based on ICS. and no luck...
The ROM looks fabulous but no SIM card
I thinking replacing the SIM Slot is the only option.
Somehow it works ..
Good News
I ordered a replacement SIM Slot from Amazon.
Took 3 weeks to come from China. It took me some time to replace it correctly and a precautionary step.
I am back on Jelly Bean (Stock and Unrooted)
Popped in SIM Card. and Memory card.
It really worked :0
BAD news :
Some how I think the new SIM Slot didnt like my memroy card..
and it fried it.
So I lost most of my pics from last 1 year
Was your memory card in the slot as you reassembled the back? It breaks every time. It happened to me twice.

Naah, the card and SIM were both out. There is no physical damage to Card
I think when I reconnected the SIM Slot on Main motherboard something fried the card.
never expected this to happen.
No sim card weird solution in my case
I had this problem for a week and got rid of this problem by un-installing the following
1. Facebook
2. Whats App Messenger
3. AVG antivirus
After un-installing each one of them, shutdown the phone, restart the phone after 30 Sec and check whether your NO SIM problem disappears. not install one more application and go on.
Ive had the same problem with my note i717 and have factory reset, tried a new sim card, and also swapped out the sim card reader with the one from my wifes i717 with no luck. Her phone still works fine (with my sim reader) and mine still has the same issue (with her sim reader installed). It started out only showing the error maybe once every few days then became much more frequent. Now it seems to happen only a few minutes after restarting. Does anyone think this is an issue with the mainboard?
Some people have reported luck with just replacing the SIM card and memory card reader. That didn't work for me.
I ended up buying a used motherboard on eBay for about $80 and replaced the entire thing myself. Thankfully the modular construction of the Note makes it really easy - did it in under 1/2 an hour. Problem solved.
The only thing I stupidly forgot to do is pull is backup the internal hard drive... so I ended up having to put the old board back in and pull everything off of it and then switch the new board back again. *sigh*
thanks!
My phone got wet so i dunked it in rice and it turned on the next day but got the no sim card problem. I followed Your advice and it worked! Thanks a lot!! Saved me from the extra stress and costs.

Hey, i just bought (16.12. - it was released in Czech for some dumb unknown reason) brand new LG V10. It kept working just fine until i inserted my simCard in it. Sometimes it loads it but just for few second and than it says there is no simCard and it reboots. I think it's damaged but still i wanted to ask you. New thing that i discovered is that whenever I listen to Spotify and turn the screen off phone starts acting crazily and reboots quite often. Today it rebooted about 7 times. (+1 GTM - 14:21 current time) ... Is this normal? Or shell i just wait for marshmallow update?
Maybe your SIM card is damaged. Is it original SIM card or cut to fit in?
Otherwise i would ask for replacement

No such problem on CZ H960 version, also new SIM, no problem of any kind.
Hello All,
New to the forum here, and not nearly as advanced as some of the posters I have read, but I am fresh out of options and need some assistance. I will try to be brief but my tale is a bit long.
I purchased a phone from Samsung, but through a trade in program through AT&T. The phone arrived and I sold it to someone on eBay as unlocked, but turns out it was network locked so I had to accept the return. I got an unlock code from AT&T and it wouldn't work, and then somehow the phone was thrown into factory reset mode along the process.
I am now dealing with an "Unable to access web browser for Wi-Fi sign in due to an Unauthorized Factory Reset." This phone has never actually been logged into, and as far as I know is still network unlocked. I have tried clearing the cache (thrown crap at he wall at this point).
Any direction would be appreciated here. I am stuck with this brand new phone, which is essentially a paper weight.
Assuming you have tried another factory reset and it didn't work, the last thing you can try is either flash the firmware with odin or contact samsung.
> This phone has never actually been logged into
Maybe your buyer logged in and then didn't remove his account. That might cause some problems with factory reset attempt without account credentials (I'm not sure exactly what happens if you try to reset someone else's phone, but I know Google won't let you end up with a useful phone afterwards for theft protection reasons)
my samsung j7
wont conect to wifi dew to a unatherised factoty reset
Saumsung s9 plus , i instlleed custom rom ,after instalaltion phone automaticlly on and off ,Recovery mode and download mode ,fast boot mode also not working ,please how i solve the this issue on moile
