Hi, I have recently switched to Honor 9 and restored data from my old phone on my new one. In the process my new phone created folder on internal storage for WhatsApp and in this folder placed one of my old WhatsApp folders, while newest version stayed on SD card. So today I tried to switch two folders and even though I managed to move them all photos are mixed up and their dates are all of today. Is there any way you recover their chronological order?

I'm wanting to backup & format my SD card following a problem with Sense not loading described in another thread. Having read various threads about this problem it seems that some, if not all, revolve around issues with the SD card.
Through File Explorer, on the phone, I've selected ''Show all Files'' from within my SD card directory. However after connecting my phone to my PC thru active sync there are some files that are visible on my phone in the SD card directory which aren't visible in the SD card folder on my PC screen. I've tried to find the show all files setting on my pc but haven't been able to.
Thing is I don't want to backup my card then format it and possibly not backup all files that are present on the card.
Any help appreciated.
Hi there,
Two days ago I copied all the files on my SD card to my laptop, changed my card from a 2Gb one to a 8Gb and copied all the files back again onto the new SD card. I never even looked for hidden files neither on the phone nor on the laptop and it all went without any problems and all is working fine.
For sake of good order, I can't guarantee it will work with you as well, but it should.
Bye,
Itamar

Hi, thx for the reply. Think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and go ahead.
I have just noticed that all of my data on both my SGS2 internal memory and my SD card has gone!
It's totally bizarre! All my apps are fine, my home screens are fine, but all photos, music, and other files are gone.
My internal storage now only contains .android_secure and LOST.DIR, but the weirdest thing is the SD card. It contains all of the default and app folders that were previously on the internal drive, except without any of the user data (e.g. DCIM is empty where it should have photos & videos galore in there). However, the SD card does now contain 9 files called "FILL0", "FILL1"... through to "FILL9" and all of them are 1GB in size. These "FILL" files have no windows file extension.
Does anybody know what has happened here? It looks like the phone has suddenly taken all the internal data and copied it to the SD, while at the same time removing anything in any way precious to me and possibly storing it in these "FILL" files.
Can anybody make sense of this?
One correction to make on what I said above. I mislabeled my drives, so it's actually the SD card which has the 2 default files on it, and the phone memory that has the rest. There was no copying from the phone memory to SD after all, there was purely deletion of the entire SD, and then deletion & this weird dump of everything into "FILL" files on the phone memory.
All,
I'm S-on, unlocked and rooted on the latest stock ICS release. I updated Ti backup a couple of weeks ago and ever since then my rez has issues recognizing my 32gb Sd card. every once in a while it will be fine, but on those occasions when I reboot or swap batteries it only sees an empty folder named Titanium back up,
I did not see any empty folder when I looked at the sd card on the pc. through the card reader. all my expected folders and files were there. not sure what is going on but I'm about to try copying everything onto the pC and then format the SD card. and copy things back. but that is a time consuming PITA and I'd rather not do that if there is a simple fix.
any ideas?

I would back it up and then format it.
I was going through my internal SD card over MTP, removing old folders I no longer need and/or are empty. I came across a folder labeled "Storage" within the SD card, followed by "Emulated". Within the emulated folder, there may have been one more, which then contained only a handful of files which were also in my "/sdcard/Download" folder. I began deleting the "/sdcard/Storage" folder, since it seemed unnecessary, but it was taking longer than the other almost empty folders so, I canceled it. Now the entire SD card is empty, other than default directories.
I already found the guide on data recovery, just curious what the hell happened...
Thanks in advance!
I've seen other similiar thread about data on SD card suddenly loss in this forum. but apparently nothing that have similliar problems with mine. I have LG L70-D325 running stock KitKat 4.4.2 ROM with 16 GB SD card installed from V-Gen. before all the data is missing, I was accessing my SD card via USB cable to my PC. I was copying my pictures from Internal Storage to my External SD Card. suddenly, a dialog box pop up on my PC says that "system cannot bla bla bla" so I press cancel right away. after that, I check my data on my SD card via PC and it's still available. then I remove my device from PC by pull out the usb cable (I totally forgot to change the PC Connection from Media Exchange into Charge Only before pulling it out). when I open my gallery, there are no files in my SD card, so I check it via Root Explorer. what I found is all the data is gone, just a view folder from installed apps on my internal storage. before I lose my data, I was uninstalling an apps called Folder Mount. there are a picture folder that still mounted from Internal storage into External storage. the differences between my problems with other thread is that I still can access my SD card without a problem. I shutdown my phone and insert my SD card via card reader and my PC can access my SD card like usual, but all my data on it still missing. I've tried using GetDataBack for FAT for about 6 hours and still can't find my missing data. is there anyway to recover all my missing data since all important files is in there including my assignment paperwork. buying or replacing with a new one for me is unacceptable since all I need is the data on it.
I've had luck with this tool before:
http://download.cnet.com/MiniTool-Power-Data-Recovery-Free-Edition/3000-2094_4-10561431.html
I used the paid version and recovered 300 GBs from a 3 TB hard drive (twice - long story...). But, saved my behind. Hope it can help you...
If you can connect it to your PC, Disk Drill can scan it. Try any free data recovery tool
I thought I had lost a whole day worth of footage from a shoot I was at on 9-11-15. I had a drive go bad today that I didn't backup like I should have done and spent all day looking and searching for any kind of backup and recovery software. I accidentally found free tools: Recuva and Disk Drill on the web and figured, hey it's free...why not try them. Well, 20 minutes and 52 gigs later, I'm back in business.
