Have you tried to factory reset. If have already try leaving it for 10+ mins. Usually the first boot takes some time.

So I've tried installing the CM10 alphas from both CWM 5.0.2.8 and TWRP 2.2.1.b1 (I think those are both the right version numbers). With dalvik and cache wiped.
Either way, flashing from either recovery doesn't allow me to boot the rom. All I get on boot is a screen flash then a black screen.
Anyone else experienced this?

Did you wipe data too? Might be a good idea.
Try using TWRP to install it.

As in my original post... I have tried that as well since I thought that it might be a problem with using CWM to flash it. I had the exact same results.

Thanks. I figured the normal data/dalvik should have worked... looks like data does need to be wiped as well.

Wipe cache and devlik cache
I was on RLS 6 with no problems really and I went to go update to RLS7 so I went to BBM and wiped cache and dalvick cache. I installed the RLS7 zip then the GSM patch zip but when I went to restart all I get is a black screen with the red notification light. I've tried it on different systems even and I still get the black screen. Any help would be appreciated and I couldn't post in the actual thread because of the lack of posts.

you need to format /system and wipe cache and davlik cache when updating to a new rom version. no need to factory reset
if you still cant, delete and create the rom slot again

I got back to RLS6 then went to BMM, formated /system, wiped both caches, installed the zip, then the gsm patch, wiped the caches again, and I still get a black screen with the red light on.
EDIT: I just realized there is text when I try to start RLS7 that says the cache.img or something cannot be found. It goes by too quickly to read all of it.

Alright I will do but do you think BMM telling me it can't find the img for system 1 is related to that? Because when I install RLS 6 it works without a hitch.
I got it to boot into RLS 7 but after I entered my WiFi info the screen turned black and rebooted into a boot loop. Kinda weird. I'm going to give it another try.

Follow the instructions in the OP, it says wait for 5 minutes after it boots, then go to recovery > advanced > fix permissions, and then reboot
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda app-developers app

Do you have recovery installed?
In a recovery, suppose twrp, there will be option named "Wipe"
In that go to "Advanced Wipe"..
Then select system, data. cache, dalvik cache and swipe to wipe!
Done.:good:

The same method is followed for both CWM and TWRP but dont know why it doesnot delete in your case. Coz if you are doing a advanced wipe it will surely delete boot files for sure.
