Hello everyone,
Since getting my SX56 last week and I've upgraded the ROM and the Radio Stack...
Upgraded the ROM to PW10A1-ENG-4.00.05
and the Radio Stack to RA.20.10
I'm using this SX56 on Rogers AT&T in Canada (Mississauga) yet I cannot seem to get any good signal strength for my phone. It's always displaying the antenna image with only the smallest strength bar beside it and most often there are NO strength bars appearing.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Some times the PPC indicates weak signal, but the point is: do you face problems making or receiving phone calls ?
Yes. I do experience problems with dropped calls, poor reception and broken conversations. There have even been a number of times when it was unable to complete a call.
The problem here, is that this SX56 is new to me, so I'm not sure what the expected performance level should be, because I haven't had anything to compare it to.
My previous Motorola T720 was experiencing similar issues with poor reception and broken conversations, but not to this extent.
I think that the antennas seem to just do a poor job. I can sit in my office with 2 phones side by side (a nokia, and the sx56) and the nokia shows a half signal and has no problems receiving or making calls. The sx56 on the other hand either has 1 or no bars and goes into random searches for signal. I love the device, but their antenna is seriously lacking
Does anyone get it where they lose signal and it doesn't come back even though you know your in a good reception area? I have to restart my phone sometimes because it doesn't seem to start scanning for signal. I can go from no signal or data to full signal and 3g just by restarting the phone.
It happened with my HTC Desire sometimes too but flicking flight mode on and off sorted it with that phone
With the V10, I have noticed that the cell signal strength displayed on the dashboard of the car does not update once the phone's display goes off. It doesn't update until the next time the screen is turned on.
My HTC One M9 updated that signal strength continuously. I hope LG updates the phone with that feature.
I recently purchased a 2ng Gen Moto E (Verizon Prepaid) with the intent to use it on Ting following the instructions in the thread below. The process worked, but I am now having an issue with cell network connectivity while wifi is turned on.

If my wifi is turned off, or I am out of range of a known network, my phone connects to 4GLTE with a strong, steady signal. If my wifi is turned on and connected, my network seems to cycle between G, E, and no signal. This constant switching really drains the battery, and I'm worried I could miss a call.
Does anyone know how I could fix this issue?
My H850 always struggles to get any sort of signal in my house (1 bar if I'm lucky), but I've just tried putting the SIM into a 15-year old Nokia feature phone and the signal is great - 4 bars. My provider is Plusnet Mobile (who use the EE network). Is it likely that the radio on the G5 is alot less capable than the one on the Nokia, or could something else be causing this?

I had a sprint G5 that was very similar just naturally had bad signal Same sim in Sprint G4 and the G5 signal sucked now I did notice if I pinch on the module and dangle the phone off of the weight of itself my signal would jump and as soon as I let the pressure off the module it would drop down again
Which led me to believe the connections on the module house at least ls992s lte antenna Its like all the other stories here I disassembled Cleaned contacts was good for a few weeks and went back to crap
My verizon G5 on AT&T works great Good gps good signal A lot of screen retention but I have learned to deal with it... over other issues users have.....
I noticed it too on my device. It has poor signal reception.
Strangely enough I managed to improve my signal strength with a Cam Plus module. I'm not sure about the other benefits of the module, but it contains an antenna and I now get 3-5 bars of signal from the same spot in my study that used to struggle for any signal at all. Unfortunately my connection continues to drop and re-connect every few minutes - e.g. dropping from 5 bars to no signal for a few minutes, then reconnecting with 5 bars. But at least I can now make and receive calls while I have a signal..
