hey i have rogers unlocked Candian Variant on 5.0.2 and i am eagerly waiting for the update 5.1.1 but i was thinking that maybe i should just stick to 5.0.2 and root to unlock Wi-Fi calling because in my house i have very bad cellular coverage on all networks....
so id be happy to know if i can unlock hidden features such as wifi calling over 5.1.1 ....
Hey.. Anyone? Pretty please..

Edit: Updated steps below for possible permanent fix.
So I took the OTA update (I am stock) a few days ago, the next day I realized that I wasn't ever getting LTE, even in places where before I got full coverage. I rebooted, turned data on and off, airplane mode on/off, none of it worked.
What finally did it was going in to Cellular Networks Settings and changing from LTE to 3G and then back again. Magically I started getting LTE again.
More Specific Steps:
Go to Settings->Under "Wireless & Networks" click "More"->Cellular Networks->Preferred Network Type. Switch from LTE to 3G, wait for the data to reconnect, then switch it back to LTE.
My friend was seeing similar issues (not getting LTE where he knew he got it before, mainly at his house) after taking the 6.0.1 on his stock Nexus 5. So I told him what I did and it appears to have fixed his issue too.
Just wanted to let others know.
~~~~~~~~~~~~edit
Updated Steps:
1.) Go to Settings->Under "Wireless & Networks" click "More"->Cellular Networks->Preferred Network Type. Switch from LTE to 3G, wait for the data to reconnect.
2.) reboot your phone.
3.) Go back into Settings->Under "Wireless & Networks" click "More"->Cellular Networks->Preferred Network Type. Switch from 3G back to LTE.
That had been the only thing to keep LTE across boots.
Thanks for the heads up, I thought it was just an issue with t-mobiles towers
I am running Cataclysm Stable build with no issues. I didn't have a problem connecting to LTE on stock, either.
Edit: Never toggled any settings.
I'm on Verizon with stock 6.0.1 & I haven't had any issues
can you play YouTube video on 1080p or 4k without buffering on T-Mobile network. i have T-Mobile and i have problem playing video. my phone show LTE.
Oh yea, forgot to say, I'm on AT&T in Austin, TX. I was wondering if it had something to do with the new band support that went into this or what. But yea, I stopped getting all LTE until I toggled that setting.
It was definitely a problem for me though, so I just thought I would share.
My friend (who is still on the Nexus 5) is on T-Mobile. But he was still getting some LTE, he said at his apartment he used to always get full LTE reception and after the update it would just come and go. But after toggling the setting seems to have brought back his solid reception.
Yeah I've been waiting for it and nothing. Uk
It certainly is. The algorithm is based on IMEI. Just sideload it if you don't want to wait for your number to finally be allocated.
Absolutely. Just reboot the phone into the bootloader and choose update using adb. You have to download the update zip from Google's servers and also you need sdk tools installed. Macs are definitely easier as they just work, windows drivers are a pain but it's possible to get it working, just hit and miss it seems. No unlocked bootloader or root needed.
Search Google for "update nexus manually". Most of the big Android sites have walkthroughs. Barring that just wait for the OTA. I've lazily done that from time to time and it can take anywhere from a day or three to weeks.
This happened to me on T-Mobile US when I updated to 6.0.1. I reset cellular settings and it reconnected on LTE and has been fine since.
I know it won't be officially released in the US but will the be a version that supports TMo USA LTE bands like 71?
Edit. Ok so it looks like it will be released by T-Mobile in the US so no longer a problem
But the US is not getting the 7T Pro. Looked at the OnePlus site and 71 isn't listed BUT it could just need enabled, I'll wait and see.
Hi, I purchased a non carrier International Unlocked Oneplus 7T Pro HD1910 phone. Will it function as a T-Mobile phone by inserting SIM card as T-Mobile or do I have to flash any firmware to get the T-Mobile features I'm not talking about activation but features. Are the members of this thread using their phones in the US or just international? Thank you.
Why would inserting a Sim card change the software/software? If you've bought it international, it comes with international firmware.
From what I've seen, and experienced on other phone, there is very good chance you will never get LTE speeds. Definitely not band 71.
I'm waiting for the T-Mobile version.
Wow that's going to suck I guess I'm going to have to return it. The phone's going to be delivered to me this Wednesday. So the bands are a hardware issue not software correct? I thought by buying an international version would be better for rooting. Oh well back it will go. Thanks for the info.
I have got LTE speeds and band 71 on previous Oneplus unlocked phones, so I dont know what the previous poster is talking about. My advice would be pop your sim in and see for yourself before you draw any conclusions.
That gives me hope, but are your phones international unlocked? I would really want it to work. Guess we'll find out. Thank you.
So maybe that will be the difference since at the moment the pro 7t is only sold over seas. Idk. I'd still wait to test before jumping to conclusions about LTE connectivity and speed and such.
If you get a T-Mobile SIM card and have them activate it, either via phone or in-store, the phone should act as their's. My phone (HD1910) does.
There will be an exclusive T-Mobile "OnePlus 7T Pro 5G" released soon.
Hi, thanks when I received the phone I just inserted sim card from Samsung Note 8 into the phone and it worked. Didn't have to call to activate which was pretty easy. Thanks again for the info.
I did the same when I originally bought a OnePlus 7 Pro -- I took the SIM out of my LG V10 to get it working. I was just covering the bases when I had T-Mobile send me a new SIM card after returning the OnePlus 7 Pro and before getting the OnePlus 7T Pro (keep in mind that SIM cards get updated/upgraded and I wanted the latest).
What kind of speed are you getting on Tmobile without band 71?
