Hello,
I bought an LG OPTIMUS P509 from eBay and it has the T-Mobile Stuff on it which is annoying.
I heard gingerbread (andriod 2.3) is coming out for my phone in the last week of this month. So will they have a generic version of the firmware without any T-Mobile or any Providers stuff?
Im not sure but from what i have read it is tmobile is providing the update it has already been released in italy but if i were you i would ust root install a custom recovery and then install a custom ROM simply because any official update will be just as crappy even if it is gingerbread and there are really nice fast ROMs with no bloat ware if you need help just PM me of post a message i will diect you to some links

Last week of this month? Where did you read this?
Gingerbread will be launched in July... it isn't available in Italy, it's just that the guys from LG Italy posted a youtube video of LG Optimus One running Gingerbread and also confirmed the July date.
There's already a thread about this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072511.
T-Mobile may be delaying it even more, since it probably wants to add its apps&crap to it...

I had a go at this article long ago (March), but its more like speculations according to me. It only says;
Code:
Now, thanks to LG India we know that the update will most likely be happening in May.
There's no more details
Yeah, most of internet sources say end of may. But i dont think, that you will have to install T-mobile stock rom.
Hi, I just bought this phone (H960A), but unfortunately seller told me that he bought it with a contract from one of Polish mobile operator. It will be probably bloated with many their apps, and there will be no marshmallow update for a long time.
Is it possible to flash 100% stock rom? I want get update directly from LG.
And btw, is there any way to obtain a root in marshmallow? I read a plenty of threads and I didn't find any answer.

I think the MM OTA update is already available for your V10 variant.

But I'm talking about branded roms. Because of this, my father for example got the lollipop update for note 3 in the end of 2015...

It doesn't matter if it's branded or not. There is a MM update available for euro version of H960A. Just install LG drivers and LG Bridge, plug in the phone to your pc and update via LG Bridge. If, for some reason, you don't get the update like that than go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/official-software-h960a-v20a-t3354304. Download the kdz file and install with LGUP.
Hello, any notice on when is it going to be Nougat available on the Lg g5 se?
Or it will never come?
Greetings
I checked the LG Bridge and got a 1.59GB update this morning - was super excited it was going to be 7.0 but after it finished, all it was was camera enhancements (and I think Feb 17 security update - all though it wasn't listed) - a big file and it ends up being a let-down. My LG G5 se remains on 6.0.1 I have to say, LG are pretty useless with updates (especially OTA) - My Moto Z and Sony X both got 7.0 weeks/months ago. BTW i'm in the UK

Hello! Im going to give it a try right now just to see if i have it available to download. I bought this device in the Czech Republic.
May I tell you that last week I called via Skype to LG USA and asked for the status of the update and the operator ( in a very tired way or sound) told me that updates for G5/G5se are now availabe, but it doesn't seem to be right by the moment.
And one last thing, please: Could you tell me the software version you have? Mine is V10a-234-30
Greetings
EDIT: As of 03/05/2017 Lg bridge says that this update is to improve camera functionality before updating
same number but v10b. would take whatever LG say with a pinch of salt, think the G5 has been updated but not the se. I've never received an ota from LG, always through LG bridge

Yeah, you're right. I have now updated the device and it says v10b... besides from that I actually consider that the camera app or the camera itself are the same as in the previous version, didn't see any changes at all except from the android security thing.

Its what i said above
yesterday also get this security patch for 6.0x, but it was much smaller - aprox 450MB(patch itself from 22/02/2017, while security patch from 1/02/2017) - 2 weeks to deploy it to end users, and 3 weeks for build/internal tests.
with such speed I don't expect 7.0 in next month or two
After the last patch via lg bridge i guess the battery now is a little better in terms of active screen time.
But we still lose much in standby mode.
After little research i made ..Guys, i guess no european h840 lg5se models exist yet.. they are all for latino american market?? So we can flash any nougat rom on our devices released in South America ?? Im not sure just my thoughts

You can if you want, one kdz file from mexico has the telcel(carrier) logo, besides from that its ok works fine. The other from turkey was for every unlocked phone out there, it doesnt have fm radio and works as good as the other.
Im going to keep waiting till the year ends. If this phone doesnt get updated, i will manually do it with these kdz files

it's was only one issue with American ROM - it was possible to lost warranty in EU with such firmware.
but since Yesterday(2017/03/09) on LG firmware present EU/UK H84010b_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0222.kdz firmware - it was mention on begin of this topic, so it's possible to return to original region
it's a bit off-topic, but Google Assistant appear on H840 even on Android 6.0 (but only in English language).

Long live my samsung galaxy note 4 with NOTE 8 ROM
Hi All, I recently got my new LG V30+ H930DS Indian Variant. I searched the forum but could not found exact info how we can root and install custom recovery on the same?
Can someone please help me out here?
Sorry I am coming back to LG after 3 yrs of gap.. The LG device I used last time was LG Optimus G Pro..
Thanks a ton!
I'm sorry, you can't. If that is important to you, you bought the wrong V30/V30+ without researching first. Only H930, H930G (some of them), and open market LG US998 have unlocked bootloader (via the LG Bootloader Unlock website) with full fastboot flash commands. We've been telling people this since September 2017. The open market US998 V30+ should also have bootloader unlock and doesn't -- but that's another story.
The T-Mobile guys are still working on getting root for the H932 -- which has unlocked bootloader, but not full flash commands available. But all other variants like the H930DS have locked down bootloader.
I own both the open market US998 V30 and the V30+. One has root, the other doesn't. And yet the unrooted one right now is my daily driver, so it's a great phone even without root. Just change the launcher to Nova, add custom icon packs, use an add blocker like Blokada.
If you have updated to Oreo already, you can even use substratum themes. (I can't, yet, as I don't have Oreo yet.)
Dude.. In India, we get only one variant.. What could I do??
"Dude.. In India, we get only one variant.. What could I do??"
Well, you could have researched H930DS bootloader unlock and root here on XDA, so you would know beforehand instead of asking later.
No, you aren't limited to buying in India. My last phones before this (2014-2017) I bought from other countries, not the country where I live. I've seen people who bought other V30 who live in India.
My rooted V30 phone is not my daily driver, so the unrooted V30+ is still very good.
Anyway, I've answered your question.
