I'm going to a trip of 1-2 days with no charge so any ideas which Rom is best for battery
Use a stable ROM with kernel auditor and use powersave as a cpu governor

i have recently flashed the Floyo 1.01 rom for hero, it come with flykernel 11 smartass, with default speed at 528/176
what speed should i overclock it ? whats the best speed for this rom ? does it drain much more battery with higher speed ?
I haven't had much battery drain using overclocked kernels, just remember to set up sleep profiles to underclock when screen off to maximise battery.
Start off with the FlyKernel-11 (Generic), crank upto 710, see if its is stable or it crashes,... If you crash, worry not, pull your battery, lower your overclock by one notch, try again. If it runs fine, try even putting the clock speed up.
Have I been clear?... Shout me if you need more help.
can you suggest me the best and good settings for setcpu i want to extend my battery life thank you .

well..... there are three factors regarding CPU which could prolong batt life..
undervolt
underclock
governor
The kernel also plays a huge role in batt consumption!
First set governor to interactiveX or smartassV2. whatever works better for you.
Set your minimum frequency to 250MHz. It actually consumes LESS batt then 130MHz or 180MHz.
You can slow the CPU down up to 650MHz and have a smooth phone. Depends on settings and optimisations...
And I wouldn't advise using any screen off profiles....
For undervolting, try system tuner on the market.

Man thanks it helps a lot
So far, I've read and tested some CPU governors to find the best in battery life that doesn't sacrifice performance too much (powersave is out of the list), namely:
Smoothass
SmartassV2
Virtuous
Intellidemand2
From all these, I found that Intellidemand2 is the best (lag when playing games appear quite rarely, only when complex calculation happens). However, I'd like to hear from you (esp. those who already tested ALL available governers) which one, in your opinion, that fulfills above requirement and is suitable for XMP (device does matter, doesn't it)?
P.S.: If the I/O scheduler also affects, please mention it along
It all depends... No battery governor can spare you 2 days of battery..... But you may try InteractiveX in combination with smartassv2... Best to use InteractiveX when the phone is idle and smartassv2 for gaming and music.....
Smartassv2 combined with sio. Anyway u doesn't need to use such cpu app that sets "profiles" e.g. changing governor while screen turned off etc, smartassv2 is smart enough, it got its own algorithm to limit max cpu when phone is sleeping.

Haha, I don't expect 2 days, not even 1 day. My normal daily use is mostly social networking (3 apps, all with background updates), email (2 accounts, 1 with push, 1 with 15 minutes period notification), chatting, sms and gaming. Sometimes music also. It seldom passes 10 hours which is why I'm looking one with best battery life (it can reach 13 hours if I don't play game).

Will try that, seems like I haven't tried the combination with sio. Thanks.
What is (in your experience) the best kernel for battery life?
I like FireIce kernel, but you have to manually underclock CPU & GPU (2.1GHz and 750 MHz) to achieve cooler temps and longer battery life.
Hello,
i just bought RN3 a week ago, so my question is, how can I undervolt thes SD 650 Soc? I have recently installed
TWRP with RR 5.8 and Radon 3.3 Kernel.
I am using Impulse Governor and max Freq is 1,2 Ghz. Touch Boost Diasable. I have under 1% Battery loss per night.
Now i asked me if it is possible to lower the Voltage from the SoC for Maximum Battery Savings. Is this good or should i prefer something else instead?
