I just installed Sony stock .575. The phone has unlocked bootloader but no recovery. How do I get root?
I found these instructions but they're long and complicated http://techbeasts.com/root-xperia-z2-on-android-6-0-1-marshmallow-23-5-a-0-570-and-install-twrp/
first of all run this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3839417&d=1470917543 by extracting it and running install.bat for recovery and when the device boots into recovery flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3839418&d=1470917649 your device will now have root and recovery both. dont forget to enable usb debugging on phone

Thanks. I got impatient though and followed the long way which involved flashing kitkat, rooting, installing recovery, flashing lollipop then flashing marshmallow this way seems much simpler.
Hi friends,
So here's a thing:
I was trying to update my Nexus 9 to the latest Slimrom build , and I used Chainfire's flashfire app. It didn't work and sent the tablet in a boot loop. But it also wiped my recovery so I couldn't even select my recovery.
So no issues, I used the Wugfresh nexus toolkit to flash it back to stock and unroot. Bootloader is still unlocked, so I just root it again and go ahead and try to install the update using Wugfresh. It works, but says the vendor.img is wrong. So I downloaded the correct vendor.img and tried to flash it, but of course because the tablet is encrypted TWRP asked for a password. I hit cancel and tried to continue, but Wugfresh just hung at that step.
So I tried to manually flash the ROM, but now it gives me a vendor.img error and will not flash anything. Trying to flash anything sends the device in a bootloop.
TLDR; I can restore to stock and root, and also access the bootloader and recovery (TWRP) but can't flash anything without sending the device in a bootloop.
I've currently restored the tablet to stock via wugfresh's tool and rooted. So I'm back at the beginning, except with this vendor.img issue when I'm trying to flash a ROM.
Anyone have any ideas?
It's a phone sold only in mexico it seems, network unlocked, bootloader unlocked, dual sim. Here are the phone specs:

I want to have root acces and a custom recovery obviously, but there is no official custom recovery (TWRP nor CWM), and, for tools like Easy Magic TWRP Installer to work is neccesary to have root acces. I've tried tools like Kingo Root, but it did't work, and most methods to have root in these cases is to flash supersu.zip through twrp or cwm. I've tried to port a recovery for mt6580 using a method like this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-twrp-3-0-x-mediatek-devices-t3379681 , flashed it but didn't work and stock recovery is still there. I have a stock rom [URL="https://www.needrom.com/download/zuum-sirius-coppel[/URL], and TWRP's official compilation guide says that I need certain BoardConfig.mk file, which I can't find anywhere in the uncompressed stock recovery. Does somebody knows if yuweng's script for compiling twrp with bbqlinux works without root?
Thanks in advance , help of any kind is welcome
So, I kind of rooted my device using Kingo Root and it wasn't successful (I guess). So, in fastboot mode, I tried OEM unlock and it didn't work too; but anyway, I flashed TWRP recovery into my phone and through that I tried to install CM 13,14 custom ROMs which was completely unsuccessful. It doesn't allow me to install any ROM. And says that root privilege is lost. And now, all that I have access to is a phone stuck in bootloop and TWRP which doesn't allow me anything to do because apparently root access is lost. :crying:
I tried every method of flashing via YGDP tool and it is stuck at 'entering download mode'. I have installed different drivers over and again to fix as suggested by different threads but still, it's the same. [Windows 8.1] . And is there any other tool to flash this same stock ROM or better, can I get root access again in a bricked device and install a custom ROM any way?:fingers-crossed:
I also have access to ADB sideload via TWRP, so can I get stock ROM in .zip format. So far, I can only find it in .CPB format; maybe I can use .zip stock ROM via ADB sideload to flash it. Please help if any of this is possible.
*Apology for such a long question but I think you guys must know everything in order to provide me with a fix*
It's fixed.

Its fixed now, I assume it was because of the ROM file being downloaded through chrome in phone, I downloaded ROM and GApps in PC and flashed through TWRP and bam! Its back on:laugh:
TWRP - 2.4.4
ROM - Resurrection Remix 5.7.2
Thanks anyways!
Hi, thank you in advance for everything
I have bought one year ago a so&so phone (65$ on AE) : a FLUO N device.
It isn't a good phone, but it the least but not last i could choose at that time.
Well, all i want to do is to root it with supersu or with other tool. I can't find any recovery tool compatible for the device so in my lack of knowledge i haven't find any method to root this android 8.1 phone. KingRoot doesn't work, KingoRoot idem. Neither framaroot or other. I want to try magisk but it seems that it's a root tool but i can use it only if phone is already rooted. It seems that i can root it with a recovery tool, but it seems that i can't install a recovery tool if my phone isn't already rooted (and i can't find any recovery tool compatible with this little $hit )
I really hope that i'm wrong and so i'm here asking.
So i'm here asking if there's a method to root it simply by adb pushing a file in it. In Developer options it has "Unblock OEM -- It allows to unblock bootloader" enabled.
There's something i can do?
Thanky you so much in advance again.
Dav
@zatecaz
To root a device's Android neither Magisk nor any Custom Recovery ( TWRP et. al ) is needed. SuperSU should do the job.
If i dowload and install supersu apk when i open it this is what it says "Root undetected -- How To Root". If i click "how to root" it redirects me to supersu.com/faq/howtoroot that fails to load.
Now, i download either supersu apk that flashable zip. Is there a method to flash supersu.zip without a TWRP/CWM?
TWRP: doesn't exist a package for this phone. Does exist a generic twrp image for every android 8.1 ?
CWM: i could install it from Rom Manager but to do so the phone need to be already rooted. Or where can i find a cwm.img to be installed by adb and fastboot?
So without custom recovery, could i use my phone recovery and adb sideload to push supersu.zip ?
Thank you again

Yes, that's the correct method.
