ROM recommendation please

Before someone comments that I should try a few by myself and choose myself, hear me out. I'm installing this on my mom's phone, and replacing MIUI because its getting really laggy. I use a different phone so here looking for recommendation. Should be stable with frequent updates. Thanks a lot guys in advance.
i dont think installing custom rom on "mom's phone" is a good idea -_-
BTW, miui is not laggy (seriously, how can u say that miui is laggy??)
if you're getting trouble with miui, factory reset the phone, or fastboot flash latest miui stable rom.
better not to experiment parent's phone with custom roms
here is some recommendation (as u asked for it)
1. Nitrogen OS ( Based on Nougat, for great battery backup )
2. Resurrection Remix ( Based on both Marshmallow & Nougat, for better customization)
3. Linage OS 14.1 ( Based on Nougat, better stability)
nitrogen OS for better battery (31.03 build) and Lineage for better stability, as simoom said. Both are actually really stable but lineage is bugfree and it has franco's support for its legendary kernel
Btw, i'm currently using nitrogen 31.03 build and i can't complain of almost anything. There's just some sort of hanging, rarely tho, at opening some apps, lasts about 2 seconds, but happens under unknown circumstances. I gotta say i haven't ever found a bug on Lineage, but the battery on Nitrogen is double the better than on Lineage

It is laggy IMO. I use a Nexus 4 and that's faster than note 3. Maybe because of numerous bloatware and mi services. Thanks for the recommendation, will try nitrogen os.

Well, as i said, i never had an issue with lineage, nor camera since the camera patch.
Latest versions of miui i heard have heavily improved in terms.of performance and battery.
Miui is better than every other rom in terms of stability however lineage is also good
And rn3 have very good support of community
if you are going to install on your mom's phone then only 1 option: LineageOS official Nightly.

Stable 100% bug-free AOSP Nougat ROM for Redmi note 3?

Hi, I'm sorry if this question is asked way too frequently, but the thing is, when I bought the Redmi Note 3 over a year ago, I had planned to install a near stock Android ROM. But after searching for a good ROM, I found that none of the AOSP ROMs back then supported VOLTE, which I absolutely require for Jio. Even now when I search for marshmallow ROMs, most of them either don't support VOLTE or have some other bugs like dual SIM not working which makes those ROMs unfit for daily use. Now that xposed for Nougat is out, I'm willing to try a Nougat AOSP ROM. Is there a stable 100% bug-free near stock Android Nougat ROM for redmi note 3? I would appreciate if people would recommend me a good ROM ONLY if they have personally tested & confirmed that the ROM is indeed 100% bug-free, VOLTE works & there aren't any battery drain issues. I don't want to flash a ROM, then find out it has bugs, then move back again to MiUI. If there is no such ROM, then I'll just continue using MiUI. Thanks.
Dude mention your requirements like stability is undefined but on an overall basis, you can try any of these Tested: Resurrection remix, Viper OS, AOSIP & Others: Citrus CAF, Nitrogen OS Nougat with a custom kernel like ElementalX or Radon. Check description for the site which contains everything you need.

I'll be checking out the site you mentioned, but my requirements are basically an AOSP ROM that is 100% bug free. Other than that, I would _PREFER_ a ROM that doesn't have way too many additional features(Resurrection Remix is one good example of a ROM having too many additional features). I would rather use Xposed for all the fancy features & not have it built into the ROM. It's pretty hard to find a ROM that doesn't have ANY kind of bugs or any battery drain issues so I would use any AOSP ROM that is completely bug free, I have no specific feature requirements.

IMO Customised Lineage OS by Umang96 is the most stable Rom. It has Radon kernal build in.

MOST SATISFYING ROM and KERNEL FOR US

Hi guys! I am making this thread so that we could have a place to tell the community which is the most satisfying ROM and kernel in our opinion and experience that you have used or most probably are using right now. Guys it would be really helpful if you share what qualities make that ROM or kernel most satisfying in your opinion like bb or performance or something unique about that ROM or kernel. Guys I welcome you to share any special settings (ROM or ka) you have done to achieve that satisfaction. So guys do share and help the community and show gratitude to respective developers as well .....
Thank You!
My choice is crdroid nougat official with stock kernel. Super stable and nice bb for my usage. I'm using it right now. No special settings. Just extreme battery saver all the time.
I think that the combination ofofficial RRos nougat and beacon kernel is very stable. I'm using it right now
I haven't used many ROMs but the most satisfying ROM for me is Viper Coral [nouget ]. Its butter smooth and best batter backup. It also doesn't have slow charging problem unlike other Oreo ROMs . It take only 2-2.5 hours to complete charge the device. Since I am not a Jio user I don't know about volte.
for me it's the viper os coral 3.1.1 final by impulsar it even shows certified in device status in play store , it's the most stable rom for me gr8 bb no volte issue nothing it's the best with stock kernel & also with beacon
Both vipers are great I.e. impulsar's and dinesh's both are certified in play store

Extreme performance!
Yup.. True.. Extreme performance.. Butter smooth, excellent multitasking possibilities. Good battery backup (but not the best), but wen compared to performance, this is more than sufficient.. Excellent work by developer.. Kudos..
liquid remix, stock kernel.
I am very pleased with AEX 4.6 and the Spicey Kernel. Great battery backup, responsiveness and performance, GCamMod and everything else is working. The only downside is that it is not actively maintained anymore, so no new security updates. As I had several problems with Oreo ROMs and their GAPPS, I hope that the developers will iron out these issues to make the switch sometime in the future (the unofficial crDroid build was promising, but GAPPS didn't work there for me).

Why? Is there any issue when you were using oreo GApps?
I'm using Oreo and Nano GApps right now, it runs normally without any issue

Yes, I had issues with the 8.1 April 1st release (pico and nano) from opengapps.org. I first flashed the ROM, rebooted and then flashed GAPPS and I got "play services stopped" as soon as I try to setup my device. And as I did mention in the other posts, I've tried other ROMs and TWRPs as well with the same reproducible result and ran out of options there. Hence I got back to AEX 4.6 and even flashing it together with GAPPS went without problems wheras I get bootloops if I flash them together with Oreo ROMs.

I did try even older ones from December, but that did not work as well. Look overe here in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-3s/help/flash-oreo-roms-t3743439/page4
Some people found a solution which worked for them, but I haven't tried them myself yet.
Bootleggers and unofficial crdroid by difr
I have used many custom roms with stock and beacon combo (excluding treble as beacon for treble is not out yet)
I vote for Bootleggers ROM.
It's a complete package with 99.9% pure android bug-less experience. All features work flawlessly. Best thing about this rom is Battery Backup. it's amazing, a LOT more compared to any other rom be it Nitrogen RR Firehound Cr AEX LiquidRemix Viper PixelExperience MIUI etc. I have tried them all but finally Bootleggers compelled me to stick with it for Battery Backup and almost NO bugs.
My latest choice - AEX oreo build by Woivod

CR droid by diffr (14042018) - best performance, great battery, fast charging (1950 mA), mostly stable, No heating issue, Best gaming performance.

Which Oreo ROMs for vince are still maintained?

It seems that all devs are developing Pie ROMs now. But these still have problems (e.g. issues with Fingerprint, Alarmclock).
Is there a AOSP or LineageOS Oreo based ROM which is still maintained - meaning especially merging security fixes? I have a hard time finding a Oreo ROM with November 2018 security patch

Most stable LineageOS for Z5C?

I'm running the stock Sony ROM on my Z5C, which is Android 7.1 and some apps I use are no longer supporting 7. So an upgrade to a minimum of Oreo/8 is necessary.
My question is, for stabilty, are the LineageOS builds based on 9/10/11 stable enough for daily use?
I would value simple setup without having to tweak things even if it means an older Android version. I made do with 7 for years so not too bothered about using latest version if it means compatibility problems and annoying bugs.
Any advice from users who are using LineageOS?
For both stability and app compatibility, go with Berni's LineageOS 17.1. It's very stable and suitable for daily use.
For apps that require Android 11 (not sure how many of those exist), go with 18.1. Equally stable but may be slower than 17.1 at some parts (especially the media player in the Quick Settings, but that's mostly Android's fault, as it's slow on my newer devices too.)
19.1 is in beta but also worth a try, if the device is not your main one.
As for the setup, installing custom ROMs only has an initial hurdle, which is unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP. There are guides in this forum that can help with that. After that everything is a breeze.
