Hi,
I'm experiencing very low signal and the phone drops network frequently.
I've tried alot of radios with no luck at all.
I'm currently on 1.47.30.10.
The main problem is that I have a wizard in my room right now, showing 4 bars and the hermes hardly reaches 2 bars and very frequently looses it's network (it searches right now)
Any suggestions?
Does anyone had such strange behavior? or it's only me?
any kinda help will be very pleased.
Thanks all.
Please help me.
anyone, help pls.

Did you connect your device to an external antenna or something similar? If yes than you probably detached pins from your device while removing whatever you atached to your device. In my country that costs 10 euros to fix.
The other option is that you fried your radio. So the best choice you have is to go to servise shop so they can examine your device.
Good luck

Thanks for a reply.
I think that something is wrong with internal antenna cause today I have put a little wire in the external antenna socket and the reception increased about 40%.
I dunno if the previos owner attached external but it's a fact that when I input this little wire the signal and phone behavior is much better.
I'm gonna disassemble my 8525 tomorrow and try to fix this. I'm near to electronics so I think that would be not so difficult.
Is it a good idea?

you'll need some tools and knowledge to do that. Keep in mind that those pins could have been detached by force (in my case) so you need proper tools to connect them.
Good luck again
Hi all,
My UK Galaxy s3, on 3uk Network, running CyangenMod V 10.1.3-i9300 is having problems (hardware issues, not related to software)
To simplify my issues I will break it down into parts
A. Problems:
1. My phone will not charge, nothing happens when inserting the micro usb charger.
2. My phone signal (3uk) comes and goes randomly.
3. When trying to charge phone whilst it is switched off, an explanation mark and temperature gauge appear flashing and the phone vibrates as the icons flash. the phone does not charge.
B. Cause:
This all started when I was walking in heavy rain for about an hour, my phone was within a pocket on my supposedly waterproof jacket. I returned home, removed my phone to find it drenched, I removed the battery and left the phone to dry out for around 24 hours. Now I have the issues above.
C. Advice Please:
Is my phone ready for the scrap heap? I am ready to list it as faulty for spares or repair only on eBay and buy another phone. Before I replace my phone is there any chance of bringing it back to its former glory?
If anyone knows what are the likely problems or how to fix them I might have a go at repairing it.
D: Further info:
I have had my phone for around 18 months and it is a little battered, the screen is fine as I always had a screen protector on it, but the chrome trim is a little scratched and dented. I really fancy a new phone but ideally wanted to wait to March when I can upgrade my phone without penalty.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Oliver
1 Charger or cable or USB faulty .
2 Network problems .
3 Overheating .
But all this sounds much more like internal component fried due to moisture .
Could be the usb port .
check charging port connector, disassemble and clean with cleaning solution.

I tried cleaning with compressed air, an electric toothbrush and a cloth but no success
I have some TimCleaan, CPU thermal paste remover knocking around, maybe I should give that a go?
I managed to remove the 2 lower screws near the usb port and remove the plastic but iot still isnt easy to clean right inside of the port
Thanks for your advice

I've just tried it connected to my PC, unfortunately the phone responses the same as when connected to the outlet plug. I think I'll list it on eBay, I
just wondered if they might be an easy fix, but it doesn't look like it.
I'm eyeing up a LG G2 as a replacement, but perhaps I should get something more robust or waterproof lol
Cheers everyone
For charging issue... few months back my S3 was too not being charged, i was too in rain with waterproof jacket and phone in pocket. but i never had that exclamation sign and temperature gauge. i fixed it by changing the micro usb port of the phone. that solved my problem but for other issues, i dont know what is causing that.
Wife fixed it (partly)
I gave up on this phone, but the wife picked up my tools and said she fancied a p[lay around. She stripped the phone used some liquid gold we had lying around and brushed the pins on the back of the micro usb port. she bushed a few other things spray compressed air and put it together again.
The usb port now charges, the only issue now is the signal coming and going all the time. if a call connects it holds the signal but otherwise the signal works for 10 secs then goes off for around 10 secs continuously.
Any ideas anyone?

i think because of water inside your phone, the signal receiver is too not working, try to clan the receiver too..

Intermittent signal problem.
Phone is completely dry and has been cleaned everywhere. The antenna has been disconnected and reconnected and I have reflashed CyanogenMod 10.1.3
The intermittent signal problem continues
Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to try a new sim, but I really don't think is the sum card because if I make a call whilst I have signal the call doesn't drop, it stays connected until I hang up, then the signal goes and comes again
My WiFi and everything else on the phone is perfect. Any ideas anyone please?

Hello.
I have problem with my Elephone P9000. When the network signal is poor, the network indicator loses signal for a few seconds and in this time, the message "Sim card has been removed" appears for a moment. After that, the signal turns back on (4G), very quickly switches to 3G, and this situation repeats after minute or two. I checked on other sim cards, and the problem is still present. I've done manual upgrade to 20160315, and it not helped. I wonder if it's hardware problem or the software has some bugs.

Hi,
I had the same problem... My p9000 has arrived just a week ago and since the beginning, several time per day, specially when the phone was in my pocket, it appended to lose contact with the Sim card and even with the SD card. I tried to put a piece of tape on the back side of the tray Sim holder... and after few days it seems work....if can be useful
Thanks, but this method did't work. I noticed, that phone loses network even when signal power is about 3/4. I'm writing to elephone right now.
I have the same problem, my p9000 arrived today.. after setingup everything the simcard cannot be read.
I tried multiple solutions none of them work. anyone already got the solution?
I had a small succes with 2 simcards but it lasted a short time
Greetz
Flashing Aerom V1 solved my problem.
Friend of mine received this phone yesterday and has the same issue. They keep getting this error every few minutes even when the phone is placed on a table so I reckon it's firmware related?

Yes. ROM 20160419 and every other based on it solves this issue.

It doesn't. I received the OTA and I still have the problem.
It's strange. I installeg IMUI official rom, based on 0419 and still was fine, till i started to play with LTE bands. Disconnecting sim card problem appeard again. Then i flashed stock 0315, download OTA and problem has gone.
Maybe a solution with scotch tape on back of the sim card will be useful to you.

I have this issue after the upgrade also. I do not think its hardware related as the issue can pop up even when the phone is sitting on a bench.
I have 2 SIMs in the phone, and it seems to happen much more than when there is just one.
It feels like when there is multiple connections that the phone gets confused and drops out.
The phone drops out while on calls too, which makes it worthless to me.
Is it faulty? Should I send it back?
I have the same problem with my P9000.
It looks like some mobile data information seems to cause some kind of exception which will then drop out the SIM card.
I had the same problem. So I ordered another P9000. Problem solved, second phone works fine. I swapped the SIM card trays to verify, the problem (in my case anyway) is with the tray as the old tray causes the same problem in the new phone and the new tray works fine in the old phone (damaged/bent/bad batch/different manufacturer/sub-contracted? Who knows?). Wrote to Elephone (for a replacement SIM card tray), will see what they have to say.
(As a very unsatisfactory workaround, if you bend the tray very slightly (bend the middle down from the top) and insert it in the slot almost all the way except for the last 0.3-0.5mm (friction holds it in place), so it protrudes about the same distance as the buttons (so it looks like another button) then this seems to hold the SIM card in the right place. It is a bit tricky but do it right and it stays in place (a few weeks now, no problems). If you break it it is your responsibility not mine, though (let's see if Elephone will give replacements). Best solution I could come up with as the alternative is owning a $200 piece of plastic that does nothing. (now I have two (3 actually) dual SIM card phones. Lucky I have a lot of SIM cards.

I removed the SIM card tray because I wanted to swop the SIM's around. It has been several hours now with no drop out so it will be interesting to see how long it works before droppping out again. I didn't dare to bend the tray because knowing me I would have broken it!
Duplicated in error.
search for lost imei on mtl devices.
you can restore it with enginnering mode . its easy

Did you manage to get a replacement tray? I'm having this issue on a second p9000 I bought and can't seem to find a proper solution
I've had one drop out only since I removed and re-inserted the SIM card tray as per my post no #13.
I did inform Elephone of the problem but apart from a standard automated acknowledgement, I never had a response. What a surprise!
That's bad news. I've got a third p9000 and it's the only one causing problems. I've factory reset it and hope the seller takes it back as no matter what it won't detect the SD card in the first slot or the SIM card in either now. The QA on this sim tray is really bad. There aren't any compatible parts for the tray anywhere? Does the tray share the same design as say a p8000 or other elephone models? Or even a different phone entirely?
I have the same issue. I even had to remove the SIM pincode, because after the phone thought the SIMS had been removed and later found them again it keeps hanging on the SIM lock. This sometimes happens in my pocket without me knowing that i do not have a network connection at that time.
So how can we decide if it's hardware of software related?
Software: In my opinion this issue only came about after updating to the 20160419 ROM.
Hardware: Once the phone suddenly found my SIMS again after hitting it softly (softly, i swear).
I will be following this thread closely
I have the problem too, the First weeks I had no problem. Now it happens from time to time around two times a Day. I'm using Eragon 2.0.
I was on evox everything was fine and i thought id try the new Havok, i clean flashed as normal and (this happened before but only for alittle and format fixed it) now my SD or my SIM arent being recognized, not even in TWRP.
I tried reflashing vendor/firmware, format, wiped everything still SD wasnt being detected but it did show up on PC and i saved all my data. I then formated SD and still no detection.
I reflashed EVO and all worked except sim and SD, so i went and did a full miui flash with mi tool.
Im now at miui setup page and its asking me for sim when its in there, tested my sim in my friend iphone and it works.
Is my phone burned?
well in the end after a hard shake of my phone the sim and sd it started working again, for how long? who knows.
phone repair guy said it would cost probably 300-400-500shekelw to solder, the phone was bought for 1000 so fk it.
question if anyone knows this is the phone signal graph from gsam, it used to never go below 40,, does this mean im losing connection during the day?

Yes. If you travel with the phone, this may be normal. If the phone is in one place the whole time, then either you have an issue or your mobile tower/provider has.

I was completely static sitting at work when these readings were taken, thing is same type of graph happens at home also . Previously the graph would be always between 40 to 80 and no sharp ups or downs all just normal(fromnexactly same locations) and this erratic signal only started after i lost my sd and sim connection for like 12 hours (shaking the phone brought it back which leads me to think it hardware).
My gf once shoved in a pin to eject the sd and i think she did it too far or something and nicked some solder point since shortly after the sim and sd stopped working, but everything went back to normal after a while. This second time it happened again that i lost sim and sd and now i have this erratic graph where it says my signal is at 0 but i still got a call.
Jsut to try i switched from evox to crdroid and i observed the same type of signal graph so its not a rom thing.
these readings are from when i switched roms to test and its the same.

Apart from Gsam showing these readings, do you have any issues with calls? If not, I would simply ignore it.

I had problems with download speeds, i was getting like half normal.
I FIXED it though with a bushfix, i put like 4 layers of cellophane tape on my sim card and now it seems it presses it in better, my stats are now steady between 40-80 depending if im indoors or out, no drop offs at all.
I hope this lasts! if not looking into mi 9 or K20 pro.

I'm having the same bs with mine (losing SIM and sd card access periodically). I have the added ballache of random shutdowns for hours at a time.
After noticing one side of the SIM tray was slightly worn down and wondering if it wasn't pressing the cards onto the terminals sufficiently firmly, I tried adding tape. One layer didn't do the trick and I was reluctant to use more and get it stuck inside the phone.
I've ordered a new SIM tray from Ali express - hope this will do the trick

Really grinds my gears having this stuff happen, at first i thought the connectors were broken, im not sure if its the tray though cuz i took my girls poco sim tray with her sd an last time it dint detect hers either.
Try what i did first to see if it helps, 3/4 layers of the clear tape, put it on the sd n cut to size.

Soo you are saying that sometimes your simcard would randomly die with no reason, and even after getting out and putting back didn't 100% fixed it?
Also that your phone suddenly died for like 2 hour and you couldn't start it no matter what?
Cuz i had these 2 problems.

Yup, that's what has been happening. Sometimes popping out the SIM and reinserting it helps, but often it doesn't. I've found it happens less when the SIM is in the SIM 1 slot rather than SIM 2, meaning I can't use an SD card. Makes me wonder though if it's mechanical, hence whether a new SIM tray might help
Random shutdowns are a PITA. They've lasted days before now
I returned it to Xiaomi for repair. They found it started up and returned it insisting it is fine. Despite videos showing the problem. Waste of time!
Did you manage to get yours over this or is it still happening?

It didn't happend after 3 shut downs. And neither the sim issues. Just to be sure i CLEAN FLASHED AND LOCKED BOOTLOADER than unlocked again and clean flashed latest xiaomi eu. Since then i didn't had any of those problems (but i got another one, maybe because of malakas kernel, rarely my screen would get stuck and only reboot could fix it(or touch sensor, not the OS)

I've done factory resets, without any improvement, but haven't relocked my bootloader
Might try that if I can summon the resolve
I've half convinced myself that it's a mechanical thing though with the positioning of the SIM card seeming to make a difference...

I had the same, couldn't fix it and i got mad and put it in slot 2,whitout sdcsrd, than it worked, i was afraid that i bricked sim 1 (its sim 0 in reality but doesn't matter), than i put it back and never had problems since than. I recommend you to:
Clean Flash back 9.6.27 beta with miflash (while relock bootloader)
Unlock bootloader, install twrp, CLEAN FLASH (well i didn't wiped system cuz some people said that on the forum, and tbh doesn't affected me) latest xiaomi eu (again, whitout wiping system but wiping all), install malakas kernel and latest magisk (13 or even 14) and if you want install FDE.Ai.
If you have problems even after all of this, than it's maybe damaged hardware, which is very unlikely.
my sim has been with stable signal strength since i put acouple layers of tape on the top.
flashing things ddidn't help me at all. I was considering mi9 to replace but developpement on K20pro looks like it will b way better.
so dar everything works so ill wait a couple months before buying a new phone.

I've just been on holiday for a week, during which time I had no shutdowns at all. Could be total coincidence, but a few days before I went I moved the SIM from slot 2 to slot 1. I've done this previously and still had random shutdowns, but strangely this time it seems to be behaving currently. Most odd

I never had problems agaon, BUT like 2 days my sdcard disconnected and could never put it back, even if it worked in another phone...
Solution?
Recap: since my F1 was about 3 months old I've been getting apparently random shutdowns lasting moments to months, also similarly sporadic signal loss and disconnection of the SD card. Have returned it to the manufacturer who took a bunch of cash from me, found it worked when they turned it on and returned it to me. A couple of days after receiving it back it shut down and continued to do so, exactly as before I sent it off. I started putting the SIM in the other slot and it worked reliably for about a month, then it all went to rat **** again.
About 2 weeks ago it shut down and wouldn't restart since. Pissed off with it and content that the warranty has no value, I took the back off last night and found that the antenna connection was loose. I pushed it in firmly (along with all the other connections to the motherboard - battery, screen etc) and fastened down the black motherboard bracket / plate / cover a bit more securely than previously, put it all back together and....
When I pressed the power button it sprang into life!
First time in 2 weeks and it's been steady as a rock since
I hope I'm not posting this prematurely - that the problem won't recur now I've tempted fate, but the initial signs seem promising
Kind of wish I'd got my screwdriver out 7 months ago and saved myself all the fannying about!
Btw, this teardown was helpful in case anyone wants to take the plunge https://youtu.be/LlubcWbsSQk
The tray for the SD card will not release using the supplied tool. This is the first time I've tried to use the slot, so not an issue with the tray being misaligned or wrongly inserted.
Has anyone else had this issue? I'm on live chat with Samsung right now trying to get an exchange. It's so frustrating, I've only had it 2 days and my initial impression of the device has been so positive.

The tray for the SD card will not release using the supplied tool. This is the first time I've tried to use the slot, so not an issue with the tray being misaligned or wrongly inserted.

Spent a very frustrating 45 minutes on Samsung's Live chat only to be given a telephone number to request a return note.
Couldn't get through on the number, so now waiting for a response to an email. Not very happy as I really want to get stuck in and enjoy my tablet.
My first try with the default pin doesn't confuses me as well....try another pin
UPDATE:
I ended up getting the tablet replaced b y Samsung Online Store.

5 weeks on from your post and my S7+ (black) arrived today, brand new from Samsung. SD card slot completely jammed. I have not been able to open it at all. Support lines now closed, so I'll find out about remedies tomorrow. A bit peeved that I'd finished seeing the tablet up from scratch and the card slot was the last thing to do. Grrr!
EDIT : Figuring that a return was on the cards and I had little to lose I applied a pair of pliers to the task, first to increase pressure A LOT on the ejection pin, and then to grip and pull on the card tray as it protruded about 2mm out from the tablet. It seems that there is rough machining/moulding on the metal edging of the tray. Once out I could feel the roughness. Having removed it once it is now possible to eject and insert with relative ease. Crisis averted.
Unfortunately I now have a little cosmetic damage on the tray where the pliers slipped. I've tried to colour it in, but maybe I'll ask for a replacement tray tomorrow.
Tab S7+ SDCard tray stuck in the tablet
Same issue with my Tab S7+. The SDCard tray stuck in the tablet. Used a set of forceps to clamp down on the tool and pushed down until the tray popped open enough to grab it with my fingers. Take your time, apply steady pressure.
After reading this thread I've try it on my device.
The first time it's goes a little bit strong. I was a little bit afraid, that I can broken something . I release a few times the tool and try it again. Suddenly the chassis released the try. Now it's working strong, but it's work. In this moment no Sim and no SD card is included.
