Amazfit Stratos double count laps pool - Amazfit

Bought my stratos today. After I went to swim with it, it double count laps.
Anyone know a way to fix this?
The model is international A1619 with 2.3.2.8 international firmware.

Same happens to me with international firmware 2.3.4.0. Mine does not completely double, but around a 50% more.

What is your swimming style? I have noticed that if I swam gently (long slide, slow moves) it counts almost perfect. But recently I have tried to swim with long slide and strong fast underwater phase on freestyle, Stratos started to count some extra laps for me. I'm planning to set autolap for pool length and check when it adds up the extra lengths for me.

Had the same double count issue on 2.3.4.0
Updated ROM to STRATOSfied rel 31. Lap counting much better now. Maybe 1 lap off after 40 laps.

International firmware 2.3.5.0 for Stratos should fix this problem, did you check the changelog/update?

I use a COUNTU Goal timer and lap counter. It’s waterproof and is adjustable and comfortable, and tapping the button makes it so I don’t have to think about my number and can relax and enjoy my training.
And COUNTU has unique function, vibrate alarm function. If you preset a time goal or lap counting goal, it can vibrate to alarm you when you achieve the goal.

[Q] Gear fit never stays on for long...?

Hi,
While I think my Gear Fit is a very useful device it constantly lets me down on the training side. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
I bike quite a bit and I like the way the Health app stores my map speed etc. the way it does. Once in a blue moon. The problem is that 9 times out of 10 the cycling app will shut down all on its own while I'm still in the middle of my training session. Hysterically irritating to have all these half-recorded sessions in my phone. And there's no way I can check on progress while cycling. To get to the Health app and then on to cycling on the Gear Fit would be sure death when speeding along at 35 kph. At least for someone as unbalanced as myself.
So am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting for the Gear Fit that I've missed? Is anyone else having this problem, or am I just stuck with a buggy example of the otherwise very nifty piece of engineering? Oh, and whoever designed the strap for the Fit must absolutely have had repeat business in mind! It's fallen off, like, 100 times of its own accord. A miracle that it's still in my possession.
Grateful for any advice on the "keep alive" topic.
Thanks/M

Same here, but I have missed all my bicyclings. But I have solved issue. Taking pulse (beat of heart) off then the training have gone OK. I am a male and have hairs on my wrist. I haven't tryed if I would keep Gear Fit like womens do, wrong way around. I mean the display is under wrist and where are not any hairs or you have to keep your strap tighter than now.
Newest version bring pause function to Gear Fit training, but I agree that better would be if I can myself start and stop the bicycling training. It could stop automatically if you stand too long in traffic signal; GPS signal stays too long same. If this is true, then the clock is dangerous incitementing to run a red lights.
The pulse off settings is here: biking/ scroll right one screen (on landscape mode)/ pulse: take off tag of pulse.

Hi EmDzei and thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately this did not solve the problem for me. Turned off the heart-sensor and have now tried two biking sessions but the Gear device stops recording after 10 and 25 minutes respectively. Pretty much the same results as before. A real pain in the nether regions! Does no one else have this problem? I've noticed that the phone "pings" every now and again and I'm wondering if it momentarily loses BT contact with the watch and that this somehow stops the Health recording. It does this at night also when I have the blocking mode enabled (which irritates the H-ll out of my wife, the soft pinging, that is). Any thoughts on this...?
Thanks/M

Have to notice here at start that I am not so specialist for this case. But I can give one or two hint.
This hint could hit forest with full speed. I don't know if the bluetooth and WLAN are on same chip. But on WLAN (= Wi-Fi) extra settings and its sleep mode there are three settings: always, only when connected and never (increase mobile data). Simple translations from finnish. =) I use this middle settings: allways, when device is connected. I wrote this hint because you wrote that your device seems disconnect 10 - 25 minutes. WLAN disconnecting time is similar: 15 minutes, if on sleep mode. As I said, this could be very very wrong information.
OK. Next our possible version differents. My Gear Fit firmware is R350XXU0BNE5. My Gear Fit Manager version is 1.67.0523 and I use it on my Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) stock un-rooted firmware version UFNB9. Last five serial character of Gear Fit are LRXW. I do not use blocking mode on Gear Fit. I use it on my phone and disable sync at nights.
Today I tested and bicycled 26,52 km. I visited two times on markets and paused my "training". All session took 1:44 hour (so beautifull day and sunshine). Does your bicycling have Pause button when you started the trip? My previous version of this doesn't and with it I had problems with cutted bicycle trainings. My phone lay on own bicycle mounting holder, so the bluetooth signal is very stong and distance ~50 - 60 cm only.
Uh, last comments. You have of course made a Samsung account and it sync works OK? I think also that keeping LTE off when biking outside of the city fairway, if it is not strong signal. Good to try in this desperation, eh.

A-HA! I think You hit on the solution to the problem in Your very last comment. I've been trying various combinations of settings on both the Gear Fit and on the phone, but to no avail. Then finally it struck me that, yes! I have been experiencing issues when shifting between LTE and other modes, and that possibly possibly this could have something to do with my problems. And so, sure enough, when I blocked off 4G and went for my daily today I finally got the whole ride recorded in the phone!
So many thanks for putting me on this track and fining the solution for me, EmDzei!

Stratos 2.3.10.5 HR sensor overheating and not blinking

Hello guys,
My HR Stratos 2.3.10.5 sensor is overheating right after turning on the watch. I had already noticed that I could not measure the pulse rate and a few days later I began to feel a slight burning in the skin, when taking the watch I see that the problem is the sensor.
Visually everything is ok and if you turn off the clock it cools again.
Has it happened to anyone or do you know how to solve it ?
Thanks in advance.
I am having the same issue, even got my skin burnt by the sensor. Have you fixed your watch?
The first time I was sleeping and I thought it was pulling my hairs from my wrist and took it off, but today after cycling it started to hurt again and when I saw the sensor was extremely hot and there was two little burnt spots in my wrist.
Was researching and saw many people complaining about it but no solution at all.
Check HR sensor conver: either it fell off or let moisture get inside the device, corroding the HR sensor. Either open the watch and remove / replace the sensor module (it won't be easy to find a replacement) or replace the whole watch.

Now that you point that out, I really don't remenber if there was a cover or not... Anyways, if that fell off, it came off without any pressure, bump or whatever... It should not fall so easily, now my watch is overheating very quickly, specially when I turn on the HR, it even shuts down. I am trying to contact the shop and Huami.
Less than 3 months using it, the watch is great besides this issue, let's see what happens.

Me too, always very careful with it, but as you can see I cannot use it anymore, tryed to contact the ebay seller/ ebay/ paypal/ Xiaomi/ Amazfit
Ended up losing my money as even if I wanted to pay to fix it, no representative here in Australia would fix it for me... Extremely disappointed with the brand.

Anyone tested GTS/GTR 2nd Version

A lot of reviews but all seems to be biased favoring buy. None of them are speaking about any issues or problems. Is the watch that really good?
2 weeks i have GTR2.Battery 14 days, normal use. Updated, playing music from the watch, speaking with the watch and Swimming. Really good stuff for a 170 usd. Change strap for metal bracelet. Looks amazing!

How do you transfer mp3 files to the watch. Mine keeps failing
Used since 2 days and steps counter seem totally wrong in daily tracking. Before go to sleep my Fitbit One has 1300 steps and GTR2 310 steps. Fitbit One is always right steps count because it is in the pocket and count only when the leg move. In exercice mode GTR2 has right steps. It is like GTR2 start to count steps anly after 40 (or more) continuous steps
At this time Fitbit One 6136 steps vs GTR2 3302 steps, totally wrong and unusable
GTR Watchfaces from "Notify for Amazfit" do not load, Fail each time.
the steps counting is better, if you do perform a reset on the GTR2/GTS2.. (after the last fw update)
watchfaces from 1st generation do not work on GTS2/GTR2 !!!
and there are no custom watchfaces yet, seems to be the apps for modding are still missing.
battery life of my GTS2 is about 9-10 days ... my GTS1 got 19-24 days

Tried factory reset, nothing changed. After 40min in my kitchen, my Fitbit One count 306 steps (and with the One it count only when the leg move) and the GTR2 counted 62 steps. So still totally unusable as daily tracker.
Really incredible that Amazfit can stay with a new (recent) watch wich can not do the basic with counting right steps ???? I can use my GTR Lite and the steps are correct, no much difference with my Fitbit One.
yeah it is a bit annoying, the GTS1 was so much better.
I dont know what they did @amazfit.... it seems to be the GTR2 / GTS2 are beta
devices for maybe the mini-Version that will be released soon

The algorithm for steps counting is trying to measure actual walking steps not just random movements which is why it's best checked in a walking activity. I got my GTR 2 a couple of weeks ago and so far I'm happy with the step counter.

That's weird, maybe you have a faulty one. I have GTR 2 and my wife GTS 2 and step counting is good on both (around 1200 steps per kilometer during activity) and even around the house it accumulates as expected. Try to feedback to Huami in Zepp app and see what they say.
Great Watch but very limited watchfaces. GTR watch faces do not work.

Firmware update for GTR2 yesterday
In change log :
- setup for wrist watch
- optimize accuracy of steps counting
at this time :
- Fitbit One : 3767 steps
- GTR2 : 3897
so no faulty unit, just faulty Amazfit developers

Well I have a gts 2 and I've been a bit disappointed with it so far. No Alexa connection (to follow so amazfit have told me) and the on board voice control is only part working.
I can start playing a song via voice command but cannot then say play next song or pause playing.
Contacted amazfit about the problem and they said oh yeah we know about that and we're working on it!!
Ever get the feeling that you bought something a bit too soon
Hi all,
I'm having problems with the heart rate monitor, while I'm resting it's more or les accurate, but when I'm doing some exercise it's useless, having a differences somtimes up to 50 bpm lower than the real heart rate, I tried a factory reset but is still the same.
Does any of you have a similar problem? I have just sent a feedback on the app, let's see
It's a great watch but I'm thinking on returning it...
Does anybody get voice reminders when doing a run for example? There's a setting during the run for voice volume, and I have it set to maximum, but there's no voice to say 1 mile and the time etc. Is my unit faulty? Music works OK.
Maybe it works only with earphones, try it.

The watch has speakers so it shouldn't be necessary to have headphones connected. Music plays nicely through the watch speaker.

Step counting during jump rope workout

Hey guys! I got Amazfit Bip U as a present recently, and I have a question. I was doing some jump rope, and I entered that workout mode on my watch. After I finished, I closed the workout mode, and later I noticed that the watch counted "steps" while I was doing jump rope. So it seems that I burned calories from both jump rope AND walking at the same time. I am new with all that smartwatch thing, so I was wondering if there is some feature that allows me to disable the counter while I am performing another workout, and that I can able it later when I finish. I e-mailed Amazfit support twice already and never got an answer. I am a bit frustrated xD Thank you!
Well it is how it is, you will not be able to disable steps counting during any workout. Your best shot is to go into activities and check your burned calories in there (as for the workout). No way to separate workout and daily kcal tho. Just to clarify - it's the same pattern for all huami watches (other brands too I believe).

Amazfit GTS: swimming measurements totally wrong. Fix sensors.

Hi there! I'm pretty sure there's no fix for this, but I want to give it a try.
I used to pool swim with my Amazfit GTS and it recorded quite well the activity.
It's now some time that the swimming pool measurements are totally wrong. Like half of the distance, but not even precise.
I tried:
- change multiple times the pool distance parameter
- reset, restart the watch
- calibrate the compass
- try a previous stock firmware, then rollback to the last one
No changes... Any further ideas?
Thanks!

Hi jumpertrekker, I came across your question because I have the same problem. I've been using my Amazfit GTS as a swimming counter for 3 months. Despite during the first 2 months it worked well, in the last one the counter kept counting less than half of the distance. I was wondering if you had found out something about how to fix this issue.
Thanks!!
Same here. After over a year with a GTS well functioning, actually my watch shows about half the strokes, and half the distance (of course half the laps too).
Actually I know it's not a matter of lane length. The very strange thing is happened 5 minutes ago, I'm looking for a solution, and I try to "swim" in my bedroom (moving arms in the air) and it shows the RIGHT LENGTH (for me is 34 strokes = 25 meters) without the need of "hit" the border. I try three sets of 34 strokes each, the first I "hit the border", other I don't (simply I stop "swimming in the air"), but the watch counted regular three "laps".Does it make any sense?
I'll try this afetrnoon in the pool water...
EDIT: After some tests:
1) No matter if you hit the pool's border. It doesn't count the lap
2) In the water the counting of the strokes is wrong, this affects the meters and then the numbers of laps
3) Swimming with a MI band 3 on the right and the Amazfit on the left. Mi Band counted right, Amazfit counted half strokes (and half meters, and half laps)
