I have a MXQ Pro Quick Play (Amlogic S905). My Xfinity app doesn't allow for HDMI viewing, but ir can be viewed via composite video. In order for that to happen I must disconnect the HDMI cable, which then automatically shifts the MXQ from hdmi mode to cvbs mode.
However, in cvbs mode, MXQ defaults to 576cvbs, which scrambles the picture, so I have to change it to 480cvbs. I know how to do this via a several-step manual process, but it's not intuitive and a bit of a pain.
I was hoping there might be a simple command via adb/SSH to make the change from 576 to 480. I've seen online postings for hdmi settings using the "wm" command, but nothing for cvbs.
Also, is it possible to change the default MXQ startup settings so it defaults to 480 in cvbs mode? That would really be the most efficient way.

Hi,
I'm trying to connect my tablet with LCD TV (brand LG) using HDMI cable. I followed the instructions and set the TV display mode to HDMI, then connected the HDMI cable with the respective ports in the tv and tablet.
However the next step in manual asks me to set the display mode to HDMI in Display Settings under Settings. Despite searching the entire Settings inclusive of the Display Settings I couldn't find any option related to HDMI display mode.
I checked with the technical support of my tab who unfortunately are ill-equipped/inexperienced with the product and suggested that I should be prompted to select a display mode when the tablet is connected to the TV using a HDMI connector, unfortunately that did not occur despite several permutations and combinations of connecting a device first.
The tech support gentlemen gave me link to download the latest 'software' (which I assume is a firmware) named vortex flash tool 1.4. I followed the screen instructions resetting my tab connecting it to PC using USB cable and selecting the ini (vortex_flash_fajue_core_256x8_1G.ini) and vortex.pak files clicking what was supposed to be a start button. But the flash tool froze on almost all occassions and did not seem to help in any way.
My tab has a pre-installed player named Vortex which provides the option to play on TV which when selected asks for HDMI device as display media, on selecting the video plays on my TV, so I felt that there might not be an issue in either the TV or the HDMI cable in question. (The player does not have options to enable subtitles display unlike stuff like BSPlayer or MX Player, unfortunately I can't find HDMI option in them, but using the HDMI I should be able to view my entire tab screen on TV, right?).
The details of my tablet are as follows:
Name: Penta T-Pad IS703C ( T-Pad IS703C With BSNL)
Manufacturer: Pantel
Android: 4.0.3
Kernel: 3.0.8
Build Number: fj_vortex-userdebug 4.0.3 IML74K eng.zjd1.20120413.113558 test-keys
The android version, kernel and build number have all remained the same both before and after trying to install the software. Any help/suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.
I have managed to autostart Kodi whe the MXQ TV Box in powered on.
Now I would like to start an automatic stream. I have found some autostart options for several add-ons, but it doesn't work how I want.
For example I'll chose a stream from "1Channel" or "FilmOn" Add-On. After a power off the box should go in the state where it was before the power cut. I don't want to show any menus etc. Just the stream should start automatic.
Even if this is more Kodi related, someone might help me...
Maybe there is another option without Kodi?
I just bought the official Smasung usbc-hdmi adapter for use with my Galaxy Note 8. I am looking for a way to set the output resolution since it goes to max by default and since my TV is 4k and i get 25 with this adapter (hdmi restriction via usb due to rights) i am looking to set the resolution to something lower. I would also appreciate a setting where picture is only shown through my TV and does not play on my mobile as well. Its distracting and a waste of energy as well
Hi,
i have bought an mx10 tvbox, i am connecting to video composite to rca on screen fujitsu plasmavision w 50". That screen is oldie but 1080 capable, i tried to connect the tv box to the screen with the hdmi cable and a converter to dvi-d in the other side but that doesnt work, you only see the initial boot screen and then you can see on the screen OUT OF RANGE and then nothing. i have read you need to change the hdmi auto to manual resolution on the tv box, for that i used a newer display connecting hdmi to hdmi an tried all of the resolutions manually wich i changed on the newer display and then connecting to the older with the same result, no image at all only the boot MX10 screen. I´ve tried all of them including 720 and even 480 and again no result, do you know what could be happening or how can i make the tvbox to display on my older screen thru dvi-d?
thanks in advance, i have some advanced knowledge on linux/android/windows. i even tried connecting my windows laptop to the older screen with the same cable configuration and it worked perfect at 1366 x 768, have even tried changing resolution on tv box with "adb shell ws (several configurations)" same result at all, what could be posibly wrong if windows laptop displays flawless on my old screen but not my tvbox, how can i fixit please? any experienced member?
hi...i have same problem too... anyone can help??
i use MX10 Pro 6k...
i cannot find the Display settings to change the resolution
Sorry if this is not the right place but I did not know where else to post and I know there is a lot of the appropriate knowledge here.
I have an S912 T95Zplus Android TV box that I bought on Amazon a bit over a year ago. It is Android 7.1.2 and it boots to a program that says SmartTV Box and runs a version of Kodi 17.6 that they call KDplayer.
The main "problem" is that I have a 15+ year old HDTV Mitsubishi WS65313 that was from before HDMI. It *does* have one DVI port that Mitsubishi calls "MonitorLink/DVI" and says it follows the EIA-861 standard.
Using a DVI<->HDMI cable I am able to get the TV to display the output from the Android box. SOMETIMES. With a LOT of messing around. Once I get it set up, sometimes it will behave for several days, sometimes I will lose it on the next power off/on.
The max. the TV can do is 1080i. SOMETIMES this option is available in the "Droid Settings" app, sometimes only 1080p, 720p and 480p.
There is no way to manually force the TV into a certain resolution and the T95Zplus loses it SOMETIMES even though I set it to not automatically go to the best resolution.
When they are out of sync obviously only garbage is displayed on the TV. When this happens I either have to take the TV box and connect to computer monitor and force resolution to 480p OR manually switch (via audio receiver - sorry I forgot to tell you that was in the middle too) to a WD TV Live Streaming box I also have connected, the WD box then negotiates the TV into a good display, and when I switch back to the Android box I get about one second where I can see enough of an image to navigate the menus. After a few switches I can go though the menus and change the resolution back to 480 and get the Android box back online again.
The main thing I am asking is: Is there a way to get the Android box to always offer me the full list of resolutions? This way at least I could get back 1080i on the first try. I have tried all kinds of combinations of rebooting the Andoid box with the other stuff powered on, off, all at the same time, etc. Just when I think I have it figured out it screws me again and I am stuck on 480p until one day 1080i magically appears again.
I am hoping there is a configuration file somewhere, or maybe one I can create, to make it always display the full set of resolutions. I'm sure it has something to do with negotiation of capabilities when it boots up, but obviously the TV is very old and doesn't even have the ability to update firmware. The Adnroid I know can do what I need because sometimes it does it, but it sure is a pain and I never know when I will get the 1080i option again.
Unfortunately a new TV is not possible at this time.
THANKS in advance.
