APT - X for audio?

Samsung has Apt X support on just about every phone it has released for the last few year. I like being able to pair it up to a atp x support bluetooth head set. Being that the Gear S can be used as a music player, any one know if it has Apt X support? I would think so as the gear circle has it but i dont see it listed anywhere. I might just have to wait a week to find this out but any of you all that already have the gear s might be able to let us know.
Thank you
Good question

Agreed OK http://www.aptx.com/product/samsung-galaxy-gear-circle-headphones
It says yes here or an adapter is available something like that
Here also http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/gearcircle/mobile/gearcircle_specs.html
Ya for now I cant find anything that says the Gear S support Aptx. I hope it does so that i can pair it with Apt x headphones I already have.

It does the first thing I quoted above shows Gear S apt-x support then you said you wanted to know apt-x support for the Gear circle I quoted that also bottom line BOTH GEAR S AND GEAR CIRCLE SUPPORT APT-X :good:
The Gear S hardware includes: Bluetooth 3.0 with apt-X, Magnetic Sensor (Hall IC), Touch Sensor, Multi Point connection to connect two devices at a time and a 180mAh Li-ion that offers up to 300h Standby, up to 11hours Talk time and up to 9 hours of audio playback.

The site you just posted is the first site that shows the gear s supporting apt x. I already knew that the gear circle supported it.. based on my first question so I was not sure why you kept post links about the gear circle when we already knew that it had apt x support. Samsungs own pages does not show the gear s support it though but maybe they just did not list it.

I responded to the question you asked about the Gear S yes it does then you asked about the Gear circle Yes it does
You are correct Samsung official site does not state that however post #7 link does.
Also your post#4 asked about the Gear Circle I responded
Good news Nov 7 th will come very fast
You responded by showing me specs of the gear circle when my question was about the Gear S.. not the gear circle. I dont see where you saw that I was asking about the Gear circle when I say in my first post that i know the gear circle has apt x. Every other post you showed keeps on showing the Gear Circle until your very last link you posted that says the Gear S has apt x. After reviewing the link you posted it just look like the site changed gear Circle to gear S when showing the specs. Im still not sure if the GEAR S supports apt x looking at information provided by samsung but I hope it does.
I dont see how my post number 4 of "yes.. but for the gear circle not for the gear s." was asking about the Gear Circle having apt x.
I dont now were the confusion happened but its all good.

[Q] Gear S and cheap(est) compatible Samsung phone

Hi all!
Just got a Gear S and i must say i am loving it.
Thing is, my main phone is an iPhone 6 and i am too tied into the Apple ecosystem to change that now.
I have two SIM cards with the same number and i intend to use one of them on my iPhone and the other one on the Gear S.
The usage scenario for the watch is the standalone.
However, i need to have an easy way to install apps and setup the remote connection, so i am thinking of buying a cheap (as cheap as it can get) compatible Samsung phone.
My best guess is the Galaxy S3 mini would do, but i am not sure.
Can someone please confirm this or suggest another 100% compatible (but also dead cheap) phone i can use with my Gear S?
Thank you very much in advance!
im also using iphone as my main phone. what i did was, i pair with my friend's phone for startup and update and downloading and then take him out to lunch.
it is much more cheaper.
Thank you @stkpxl! @kois86 this is a great idea!!
However, each time you sync with your fired you also get his addressbook and call list, which should not be very convenient, right?

Samsung Gear Fit 2

I ordered a gear fit 2 today, does any one have experience with the first gear fit, or any other wearables? I was fairly impressed with the specs, mainly the GPS and standalone music player. Love my 6, but having this thing in my pocket while I run is fairly cumbersome. I'll post a review once it comes in.

I have the original gear fit. Thanks to the open fit app it still works past kitkat. The stand alone music player has to be a nice option in itself, the original one only worked with the Samsung music player

I got the gear fit 2 yesterday; its a fantastic device, and plays well with the nexus 6!

Nice! Are you stock, or running a rom? I'm currently on N dp3 and was a little concerned that they may not play well together. Have you put any music on the band? If so, do you have to use a phone to do this, or can you use a PC?

running a custom rom, no issues at all
didnt put any music on the band yet, but the "music" app on the band controls what ever music app you have running on the phone, so that is cool
I assume you transfer music from your phone to the band via BT; no usb connection on the band at all

Do you have force close issues with the S health app? I think the issue may be that I'm running N DP3, may have to go back to 6.0.1

i'm sure that S health isn't ready for N yet..
I don't bother with N until there is actual source; since your running pre-release software, I wouldn't expect it to work properly..
no problems running s health with any MM rom I have flashed so far..

That's what I figured. I'll probably roll back to MM.

Fit 2 works OK with nexus 6, it syncs well and has a stable connection (stock rom). Google messenger is a bit of a hit and miss with the sms reply function, but textra works fine.
There is a huge issue with all non Samsung phones the gear appstore is severely lacking, and it's very obvious when you connect the fit 2 to your nexus. Since launch there has not been any added apps, not even Spotify. Youre stuck with 8 watch faces and no alarm.
For users with Samsung phones there's a plethora of app options to choose from, so at the moment it's not a very good combination to run the fit 2 with anything but a Samsung phone

Gear Fit 2: possible with <1.5GB RAM?

Hi to all, I'm interesting in purchasing of GF2. Is it already possible to use it with a (Android) smartphone with less than 1.5 GB of RAM? I've a Moto G LTE (XT1039, peregrin) with Cyano 13 flashed.
It will ever be possible using the GF2? From the play store I can download the Samsung Gear app, but not having a GF2, I can't test the pairing
Actually I use a MotoACTV, during my trainings, but as You know, the portal is now unusable and I don't think Motorola wants to support it anymore.
Thanks to all and sorry if it's the wrong 3d
Yes, but as I know not for Samsung devices. There is some app manager for devices with 1GB in Google Play store.
I do not remember name. When I buy my Fit 2 the seller talks about that. He uses his Fit 2 with LG 1GB.
Just look for it in GP.
Wow, what a great news! Thanks a lot

Hi,
Please see my thread for a solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-fit/help/gear-fit-2-moto-g-2014-gear-manager-t3430292
Interesting solution I'm still thinking about which new sportwatch to buy but now this is a good choice too!
I was able to disable the minimum RAM requirement check in the Samsung Gear application, by de-compiling it, modifying the rules.xml file (adding hostMinMemory=”0″ syntax), re-compiling and re-signing it. I also had to re-sign dependant apps - Gear Fit2 Plugin and Samsung Accessory Service. The modified Samsung Gear app was tested on Sony Xperia T3 (Stock Android 4.4.4, 1GB RAM, phone NOT rooted) but I believe it should be working on other similar phones too.
The instructions and the modified app (no root required for use) is available for download on my blog, please follow the link below
https://getgui.com/blog/android/how...amsung-gear-fit2-devices-less-than-1-5gb-ram/
If it works on your phone, please do not forget to post model of your phone and version of Android in the comments on the blog, to help other members of the community.

Nike run club

Anyone knows how to install nike run club on the gear fit 2 pro?
Sorry, for the late reply, but Samsung and Nike has parted ways, and is not supported on the Gear Fit2 Pro
