I purchased Redmi Note 3 Pro from banggood (Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro 5.5-inch 2GB RAM 16GB Snapdragon 650 Hexa-core 4G Smartphone)
After purchasing it I have come to know that there are several versions of the phone: regular, global, special edition. I would like to find out which version my phone is and most importantly, if it is capable of receiving bands 2 and 4 connections.
I am in the US and plan to ATT carrier with the phone. I have seen some threads where users have had success getting 4G on T-Mobile.

You have the regular Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon model (2GB/16GB) codenamed "kenzo"
It comes with 2 official MIUI ROMs & 1 unofficial MIUI ROM which is often flashed by third-party sellers like gearbest, banggood etc.
- China ROM : Chinese, English + No Google Apps
- Global ROM : Muti-language + Google Apps
- Vendor ROM : Multi-language + Google Apps + Malwares + Bloatware
After you receive the device with vendor ROM you can flash official MIUI ROM via EDL mode using PC

Thank you very much for the information, I have already flashed to MIUI 8.
One more quick question, do you know whether my redmi is compatible with ATT bands? I did a quick search on AT&T bands and found the following:
AT&T 4G HSPA and HSPA+ use 850Mhz(Band 5) and 1900Mhz(Band 2) bands but it all depends on area if they own a license. LTE uses Band 17(700Mhz), Band 5(850Mhz), Band 2(1900Mhz), Band 4(1700/2100Mhz) currently.

The specs from the page you provided state:
Supported bands: FDD-LTE (B1/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8), TD-LTE (B38/B39/B40/B41), TD-SCDMA (B34/B39), WCDMA (B1/B2/B4/B5/B8), GSM (B2/B3/B5/B8), CDMA1X/EVDO (BC0)

Check it here for compatibility : http://willmyphonework.net/
Also you may need to contact AT&T support and ask them if they support the required bands via cellular towers in your area. There are tools available online which show the heatmap of the coverage alongwith the band information of a given locality.
I am using an unlocked AT&T E970. But in my country(India), 4G operators use a different frequency for LTE (Band 3, 5 and 40). So I am not able to use LTE in my phone, but the E975 (International) version sold here in India works fine with all LTE bands. So.. I was wondering is it possible to flash just the Radio from E975 into this phone. I am willing to give it a try. If this is possible, then can you guys tell me where can I find such a flashable radio file from E975?
I tried flashing a custom ROM (Sling Kahroba) built for E975 into my E970. But, it didn't work.
I tried unlocking bands by changing NV values., but no luck . I wanted band 3 or 5 or 40 .
I am on Nitrogen OS Geeb.
Plz help us changing band i am also not receiving the lte network in jio sim

Issue: using 3 in the UK and they are running LTE Bands 3 and 20. I am looking at my wife's phone next to mine and she is camped on 3's Band 20. I am using an N900t and it won't allow me to enable those bands, even when forcing to either of them in the service mode. I'm running the OB6 firmware, CSC, and bootloader. The ROM is an Alliance TW 5.0 with TWRP as my recovery. I've also enabled CA as well as LTE Rev 10 to no avail.
I don't know much about how this OS works, but I am thinking that the baseband is reading the CSC and disabling the OCONUS LTE Bands, which is why they won't enable in the service mode. There is no other CSC for that firmware on sammobile, and I've read that flashing a mismatched CSC can cause incompatibility issues.
Thoughts?
I definitely posted this in the tmo note 3 form, not sure how it got here...
Hey guys i have taken an unlocked variant of galaxy note 9 in usa before i moved back to india and after coming here i have observed that i cant use features like samsung pay as it asks for a zip code when i enter the card number and not been able to use volte baser carrier. The carrier which i use now sucks but i am forced. My firmware version is n960u1 and after a ton of research i found out that volte will be active in n960u variants. Is there any possible way so that i can flash my rom to the indian version? And people say rooting my phone would do the trick but i dint find any root either. Please help out there should be some way right?
And also a small doubt does the note 9 show bessels
While recording a video? My note 9 does not record in full screen
Ok, so I have the SMG991U and almost every time it's in 5G I have no internet: it feels almost as though there is no date.
Tried poking around and I can't find anything but I'm sure I can't be alone. I think I had the issue with 12 (hard to say as I was carrying two phones at the time - one work one personal). Now that I'm down to one phone and this is my primary, it's pretty damn annoying (to say the least).
There are places where 5G is working fine, but most of the places when it's on 5G it's as though I have no coverage. When it rolls into 4G it's flying.
If I could set it to run 4G only that'd be great BUT there is no option for that. Any suggestions?
I'm running Android 13. All current updates. Baseband is G991USQU5DWa8
Try this dialer code and report results.
It lets you disable 5g bands. The app won't work probably, it was messed up before 13 came out, try it out and let us know!

This method is specifically for Samsung Galaxy. Because the default hiddennetwork system application is available. for devices with other brands and types, I haven't tried it. Please follow the following methods: 1. You need to install this app...

This is another way to choose LTE bands but a little annoying." .
Btw since you're on u5, you could roll back to the one from May 2021, i used the T-Mobile cvdb version. It lets me use that app to easily switch bands as a few bands are worse than dial up in my area
This is Verizon's cvdb

*#2263# does not work. Regarding rolling back to a different version, Verizon is locked every which way there is. Otherwise I'd be running a custom ROM

You can roll back... The u5 of your current version means you can roll back to that one I linked which is also u5. After doing this,
Also remember to adb disable the update app
( com.wssyncmldm )!
If it were u6, you can't go to a u5 firmware.
I forget what that's called, some kind of revision number. Older ones could be rooted and use custom roms.
