Hi!
I installed Pixel Expierence ROM and few days TWRP is working without any problem and Encryption.
Now TWRP is Crypted and ask for me password...
Why?
When I restart phone ask me password again in some strange screen....
Try flashing forceEncryptionDisable zip. or try flashing the latest firmware once again.
I have reinstalled the pixel rom, flashing a Encryption Disable but no result ...
Same here.
After clean install and factory reset bug in TWRP is gone...

Have you try reboot the phone into normal Android system? and later try reboot into TWRP, I read somewhere it might work.

Hi guys the solution for my me was doing an entire wipe of everything except recovery then flash rom, it seems that the stock rom of le max was causing that
What was your ROM in the beginning? Was it Indian ROM? Did it have the update manager? Which ROM did you flash after wiping everything except recovery?
I bought the phone from geekbuying with EUI version 5.8.019S (Stable), BUILD: FGXOSOP5801910121S release-keys. It looks like the latest vanilla Indian ROM, but it is most likely vendor-modified since the phone was received unsealed and there is no update manager. The main problem is the encryption - phone is encrypted right from the start without any password or PIN prompts. Factory reset allows to set up everything from the start, but the phone is still encrypted. TWRP asks for a decryption password. I have tried multiple vendor and default passwords with no luck. TWRP factory reset does not prevent the encryption.
This question keeps coming up in forums since people do not seem to search for similar questions. Well, I did. Therefore, I will try to assemble the list related to the encrypted ROM:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/help/benefit-form-leaving-x829-to-indian-t3609698
Proposed solutions:
CASE 1: No Update manger + encrypted ROM
Since it is a vendor ROM, you can try flashing a clear stock ROM from recovery that can be downloaded from the official LeEco forum http://forum.le.com/in/eui_detail.html?euiid=206 . It might not directly resolve encryption, but will make the update manager appear, which can be used to upgrade to ROM w/o encryption. If you want to stick to the Indian ROMs, but want to remove encryption - see below

CASE 2: Encrypted ROM
You most likely have an Indian ROM. You can try reinstalling the ROM (TWRP) and immediately wiping the data partition from TWRP. Some users report success with this.

One user has found that upon multiple resets with TWRP the encryption seems to be ignored
More reading here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/help/benefit-form-leaving-x829-to-indian-t3609698
Another user suggests Chinese ROMs since they are likely not to encrypt the files. In other words, updating to a Chinese ROM might help.

Have any of the proposed solutions worked for you?
Dear readers,
I flashed TWRP 3.3.1, booted into it, wiped data, did factory reset, and installed decrypt for latest pie.
i rebooted into twrp to verify the decryption and indeed I was not asked for a password.
Then I booted into Pie and went through the account setup and while I was doing that some updates got installed by android.
To my horor when I booted back into TWRP it again asked for password, meaning android pie somehow encrypts the data again.
(Second time I did this whole process again I installed magisk.zip, so at least I have root.)
My question is:
How can I stop Android from encrypting again during the account setup process?
Greetings,
Mike
This happens to me too, the only real workaround I've found so far is to flash your zips (ie. magisk) before booting the first time.
I did flash stock image, flash twrp, boot into twrp, format data, flash decrypt.zip, flash Magisk.zip, and reboot. First thing it does is encrypt it again.
Then I tried same process but with no-dm-verity-encrypt.zip or something like that, and it said success, but still Pie decrypts again.
Then I tried previous firmware, (. 48 instead of 51), but same result. It is driving me nuts.
And no help from here so far.
Maybe I should go back to oreo, that worked OK with decrypt.
Greetings
Same problem wait solutions.
Alas, still no fix for this major problem.
What is the point of creating TWRP and other custom recoveries for X01AD when they can not be used for making backups, due to decryption problem?
So please someone with the skills to create a force decryption that actually works, help us out.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
Hi, i was trying to install lineage os 16 and when i rebooted my phone, lineage os was asking for password, i panicked, launched TWRP and wiped data and restored a backup, since then im in bootloop. I dont know how to install lineage os or stock MIUI now that i cant boot my phone.
(i tried copying some files from my pc to poco but TWRP doesnt seem to recognice them to let me install)
Any help would be really appreciated!
EDIT: installed stock rom with xiaomi flash tool
First you should have flashed DFE you could have also fixed that by formatting the internal storage, anyways try flashing compatible vendor, firmware files are then flash LOS 16 with DFE if it doesn't work flash stock miui with and make sure to flash DFE after that or you'll lose TWRP and will get back on stock recovery

Thanks, i had flashed firmware and then los 16, i followed munchy steps from youtube except that i installed newer version of magisk and TWRP, i skipped DFE because i wanted to have LOS16 encrypted (i thought this was not a must).
So it is not possible to skip DFE? or if i would had just formatted internal storage as you say would solve the password issue?

If you want your device encrypted follow the same steps as you previously did and reboot if it asks for password just go back to twrp go to wipe and simply format from there it should solve the problem:good:

Great! Thanks a lot, gonna try that and write back.
Repeated the process to install LOS16, and this time it didnt ask for password.
Hi guys,
I have weird problem. My device is Kate, unofficial ubl. Already tried many custom rom, twrp 3.3.1 installed. Magisk 20.3
However, I have noticed that all custom roms I tried, always have problem with fingerprint unlock. I never encrypt the phone.
So the problem is : everytime I have flashed new rom, doing setup, with lockscreen and pin, fingerprint have no problem.
But when I reboot the phone : either from magisk, or by power button, then the fingerprint unlock not working. I need to manually go to twrp and delete : *.key and locksettings.* files.
But this doesn't solve the problem. With miui rom MM, I never have problem.
Procedure to flash new rom I'm using :
1. Wipe dalvik, cache, system, data
2. Factory reset
3. Format Data
4. reboot to recovery
then flash rom and others.
I even did wipe my internal storage due to desperation on this same problem but it didn't fix the issue.
Now I'm on miui ported rom, Nougat, using Magisk 20.3, and kernel Escrima X28-Kamui-Lightning Blade.
Any solution or is this lockscreen bug ?
Thank's
Hello, I now have 8 days note 10 lite today I unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP via adb after that I installed lineage os and wiping data etc. After that I faced a bootloop and lineageos bootscreen doesnt go away after 15 minutes.
So I tried to reflash the rom again, but twrp isnt able to reinstall the rom. I then used miflash to get original rom again.
Started all over installed twrp, flashed lineage os after this install after reboot I get everytime back into TWRP and looked on my pc and all files suddenly are encrypted on my phone and cant get lineage os rom again on my phone..
So I used miflash again and decided to ask here first. Does anybody know if I maybe use a wrong TWRP or missed a step?
I really dont understand it, I tried it for a 3th time. Here is exactly what I did.
- installed TWRP through ADB (TWRP-3.4.0-0_Android11_Roms_AndroidHQ254)
- In TWRP put rom on my internal storage
- Wipe Dalvik, data and cache
- Install rom (TWRP-3.4.0-0_Android11_Roms_AndroidHQ254)
- data wipe (where I had to type yes to confirm)
- Reboot to system and then it doesnt do anything and goes back into TWRP where I cant do anything, and I have to flash original rom back through MiFlash.
I run now MIUI 12.0.2
Android 10
Try using orangefox recovery. And i think you have to wipe data before installing rom, not after it.
