My OneX is rooted and working just fine. I'm getting the pop-up notifications from AT&T about updating. This last time I postponed it, it said (basically) I'll be forced to update in 8 hours.
is there any way to disable this?
Bump:: Anyone? I'm running out of time

Update,Miracast,Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot issues with an unlocked AT&T HTC One in India
Hi..
I am using an AT&T HTC ONE M7 with Android Ver.4.3 & Sense Ver.5 in INDIA which has been IMEI unlocked. Although i hv been successfully able to make n receive calls, send/receive text messages or use mobile internet on my local carrier (Airtel), but there are certain issues which have cropped up beyond my comprehension, hence the reason i'm posting here. I request the community to please share their knowledge to help me out with the following issues:
*First of all, I'm unable to update my phone to android version 4.4.2 (Kitkat). While using the option "AT&T Software Update", it says "No update is available for your device at this time".
*Second, Unable to use Miracast feature on the device. Resetting the device did not bear any fruit. I"m not facing any hassles on my other devices.
*Third, when i try using Portable wi-fi hotspot feature, it says "To Enable Tethering on this device, visit att.com/mywireless".
I'm a novice with things like rooting, custom roms, s-off n all, but if they are the solution to my problems, plz. share the links from where i can acquire knowledge to use these options.
I again humbly request the community members to please come forward and share their knowledge to resolve my issues.
Thanks

Well obviously, this is an AT&T Phone, and you are using Airtel for your Data Connection. So Tethering is utterly impossible (Unless you use AT&T for your Data Connection). This is all I know though, and the Update is hard to do, for me I kept clicking on Update and it finally told me one morning (Woke me up lol), that an Update was available (v4.4.2 KitKat) which is now installed, other users are saying to call AT&T and tell ask them you want to update your phone to v4.4.2 KitKat.

Lucky You! The Kitkat update woke you up! I'm waiting for my call. I tried to contact at&t, but they require you to create an account. For that matter, even if i want to chat with a representative for technical support, they require me to login with my account. The problem here is, to create an account, they ask for wireless no. as well as billing zip code, both of which i don't have as i'm using the phone here in India. At the end, I'm helpless.
Root and a off then you can get whatever Rom you want and use hotspot
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium HD app
It's simple.

Thanks Bro..Now my query to you is whether installing ANDROID REVOLUTION HD ROM will help in eliminating these issues. I have NEVER played with modding my phone. Never rooted it or did stuff like that. But of lately, after watching several videos on youtube on how to unlock bootloader, rooting n install a rom etc etc.., i'm confused whether i'm required to change the CID of my phone. Even worse, i do not know what CID i require to install this rom. Because while installing this rom, i saw somebody checking the "AT&T/Unlocked/Developer" option n as far as i have learnt CID of an at&t HTC one is CWS_001. So, when i install this rom, can i check on the "international version" option. I know i'm sounding very confused but i badly need help...
Thanks!..
If you prefer to use this MOD ATT Wifi Hotspot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248959
Like The Title says, why is there an option to force software updates to WiFi only, But let me elaborate, I just changed my cid, and mid last night, and flashed the tmo 1.xx.xxx.xx firmware, followed by a boot loader lock and the tmo original 4.2 ruu, for a full conversion, then I have ran through all of the updates up to sense 6, still have an update or 2 to go, however it doesn't matter at all if I have restrict updates to WiFi only disabled or not, either way it forces me to use WiFi, (wouldn't be a problem in most cases but my WiFi sucks and I have an unlimited data plan 2Mb 4g > 500Kb WiFi, so my question is whether or not this is a bug or glitch or does T-Mobile not care about people who have bad, and / or no WiFi?
I bought the s6E yesterday and as soon finished the initial setup and samsung apps started updating i started to get the security notification and i've already made like 3 or 4 restarts of the phone and i still get the notification of threat of an unauthorised system change.
And when i restart my phone i get another notification, it appears only when i turn on the phone. It says "The applications of this device consume data and apply a cost for navigation. We suggest you hire a data package. Details with your service operator", the problem is that i already have a data plan of 5gb.
How i can fix this thing?? the phone is perfect, only those 2 annoyance.
My phone is not rooted, i don't know if it's worth to root it and also, i don't want to void the warranty.
All my last android phones were rooted and with custom roms, i don't want to fall to the dark side of rooting and roms again... xD
Thanks

This might help you get rid of the first message. It seems you have to update some kind of security policy. Hopefully it works for you.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/general-help-how/334236-unauthorized-app.html
or
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...-s4-security-notice-after-update-4-3-a-5.html
The second message must have something to do with data warnings. Take a look under the data usage option in settings to see if there are notification settings. I think this is based on the data settings for your carrier. At first glance though it looks like some kind of malware because the English is a little off but it is Samsung after all.

Thanks i already saw that post and it didn't worked last time, i just cleaned data of security update policy and the log and restarted, then went to the settings to update the policies and had no updates, dont know if im doing it right or not..
I'm not really in love with the idea of reseting my phone, and in some cases, after reseting the phone, this still happens.

Google Security Patch - September, 2016
Important Info:
Phased roll-out of the update starts on 10/3/16 and will be completed by 10/7/16
Keep in mind devices receive the update in phases each day. Customer Care cannot tell users when they will exactly get the update. Please do not call asking. Thanks.
If they update Lollipop, then we won't wait for Marshmallow.
So this isn't Marshmallow..?

We aren't getting a MM release from Sprint
I'm fed up with Sprint. This update isn't even listed on LG. This update F"ed up EVERY single one of my my apps. Calling out is extremely slow to connect. "Unfortunately Google Play has stopped". Google login errors etc. "WiFi and mobile data currently unavailable". "Unfortunately Quick Memo has stopped".
Had to hard reset and go through setting up all the apps and logins for an hour again. Now I have a serious battery drain causing me to charge my battery several times a day.
Someone share a link to revert back to LS990ZVC, PLEASE.
I updated yesterday and i need to root my device for gsm network use
Can anyone help
