New phone, vertical line on the screen. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Bought Redmi Note 7 Pro from flipkart, got delivered 2nd October. After 13 days a vertical hair like black line(from the selfie camera to the home button) suddenly came up, while the phone was in my hand( i was using messenger at that exact moment). Rebooted the phone(line was still there in the boot screen), didn't work. I didn't accidentally drop it nor that i used it in any improper way. As per the replacement policy i cant replace the phone now, i haven't went to the customer service center yet but I'm not into screen replacement because its a new phone. Can i demand a full replacement for this device? And what can usually cause such issue?
I am not authorized to post a picture link, because im a new user.

[Q] Touch Screen issues

I dropped my phone last August and cracked the screen. After several hours to find out the Verizon sales person didn't add the insurance to my phone.
This put me to searching the pages of Ebay to find a true Verizon digitizer replacement from China. 6 weeks later I replaced the screen with the tools provided(minus the fact I didn't realize the seal to the chassis had to be heated to release the old screen) this causes dust to get behind the screen (boo).
So after a few months the cursor when using the keyboard would just move on its own. Each month it gets worse and worse to the point you can't even use it and have to re-flash the ROM again.
The home screens when long pressing to delete something will skip and miss the trash can and you have to try several times to delete something. The soft keys will get messed up and the menu will act like the back button.
Has anyone had issues like this or maybe know of a calibration tool.

[Q] Screen not working at all - white with horizontal lines across it

Hi Guys,
I bought a Galaxy S2 in late August and have been using it since then. It is also using Siyah Kernel with Galnet MIUI Rom.
This morning I pulled the phone out of my pocket and the screen was completely white, with horizontal lines across it. I have attached a picture to described what I am saying (sorry for the quality, it is behind a white table but the light from the screen makes it so the camera only picks up the screen).
What's interesting is that everything else is working. If someone calls me, the ringer will go off, and I can guess the gesture to accept the call and have a conversation, so it just seems to be the screen.
I have tried a few things already, but any time the screen seems to have power its just white. You never see the initial Samsung Galaxy boot screen, and I tried going into recovery mode and the download mode and both the times I can't do anything.
Is there a way to flash without having any visual control, and even if there is, do you guys think its worth a shot? I bought this phone from someone online and not sure if I can still get the Samsung international warranty.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Holy crap. That's a hardware defect. Go to download mode, flash original firmware, use jig, send back to Samsung. But it seems that it has been dropped in the top right corner, didn't it?

I dropped it the night before on carpet, but everything was fine. I used it the whole night, and in fact I even used it the morning of. Not sure what happened but I pulled out my phone because it was noticeably warm, probably from the screen being on.
I bought this phone online, and it originally belonged to a Samsung Asia employee who no longer works there. I checked the box for any warranty information, and the page containing warranty information seems to have the international warranty code page ripped out.
Anyone have any idea of the cost of getting samsung to fix this? I tried calling Samsung Canada and they gave me a number for the company that deals with their phones, but I haven't had any luck reaching them. I also tried looking for screens online but they are so expensive.

if its not a hardware defect then install via odin some other firmware...
if that not going to help then return it to samsung and claim your warranty - dont mention that you droped it on the carpet thou... ;]]
It has to be a hardware defect if even the boot logo doesn't show right? (the initial galaxy s2 screen)

dead bar on part of screen

Hi all,
so i have an issue with my p9000. There is a "dead" zone on my screen, it's about 1.5cm wide and covers the screen from left to right.
This part of the screen stopped working a few days ago, it's not responding to touch. Rest of the phone is fine, everything works as it should.
Can this be because of some wrong settings in screen size in rom or any other settings, or is the screen most likely dead ?
Seems like there is a faulty batch
I got that problem too.
Mine is on Eragon ROM and part of the screen is unresponsive in applications other than the Nova Luancer.
My device has the same issue. Try to zap repeatedly the dead part of the screen with a piezoelectric tool, such as a mosquito bite relief device or a lighter. Works form me, but it's only a temporary solution. The issue comes out again from time to time.
So it looks like a device issue then. Was hoping for software error.
i have the same problem. It is not software error unfortunately. Looks like a faulty batch to me too.
I use Eragon and was dealing with the same issue. Then suddenly it disappeared. After flashing an update it came back and then it disappeared again. Since then everything is fine
Ok, now this problem is permanent. I talked with Banggood and will send it back to the service.
So I've sent one email to elephone support department. They were offering me a 15$ discount. Was very surprised. Anyhow during further conversation they have agreed to fix the device. I will send it as soon as I get another device I can use daily.

Yellow spot on screen - screen or phone replacement?

I've got yellow spot on screen of my Honor 9. I guess it is problem about glue under the screen. It isn't a problem for me to send it back on warranty, however i am thinking about what they replace.
Right now i have unlocked bootloader and it is important thing to me. So if they would replace only screen it is okey, but if they would replace whole phone, i won't unlock my BL again :crying:
Does anyone know about it? And do they have Honor 9 on stock at all to replace mine?

sounds like a screen bleed i had it but disappeared after the oreo update so it could be something else
you'd likely be charged for the new screen
I also had multiple yellow/orange spots on the top left corner of the screen. I tried placing my phone for 30 minutes in the refrigerator and the spots disappeared but later appeared again. It looked like the phone was burning from inside because turning off the phone/screen won't make these marks disappear not even the OLED fixer apps.
I called the hotline and they told me that they are going to replace it free of cost as my phone is under warranty. I just sent my phone to Huawei 3 days ago. The process would take 2,3 weeks. I am hoping this problem gets fixed or they just send me Honor10 instead of my Honor9

The same thing happened to me, they replaced the whole phone.

Screen issues after replacement

Hi at all,
my uncle's Mi A3 had cracked screen, so he told me to replace it with a brand new. I replaced it the first time, and after some time the screen became useless because of bad lines (green, blue, yellow) all over the screen that didn't let you do anything. So I gave back the replacement screen to the seller that sent me another one of it. Tested it, mounted it and now after a week the same problem. Now the phone has been shutted down because of low charge, this morning i tried to charge it and now it works well as usual. What the f*** is happening? bad screen replacements? Did I do something wrong each time I replaced it?
Thanks a lot to all who answer.
seller has good display??
checkup ur mainboard too.
