It updated something in /data/cota/para/time_zone/
I guess some time zones were off or something, or bugs.
That's what I gathered from the update zip that was downloaded anyway.

All, have been reading the news about the imminent S-OFF - very exciting! Saw the references to the new OTA update and decided to check my DInc4G to see if I had it yet since I don't recall any notifications about it. Went to Settings>Software update and touched "Check new". After about 15 seconds of "Checking for new Software update available now." popup, it dissappears and goes right back to the Software Update menu - no errors, nothing about no updates being available...
So then I touch "Status" and get the following: Status popup with the following field's/values:
Source: Verizon Wireless
Name: {blank}
Status: {blank}
Code: 0
Date: {blank}
Time: {blank}
Description: {blank}
Does that strike anyone as odd? How am I supposed to tell whether or not I have the update? I don't have another DInc4G to compare it to which is why I'm asking here.
BTW, I never tried to root this phone - got wind of the locked bootloader before I got around to trying...
Any help greatly appreciated,
Chris

this is normal, my son-in-law went through the same thing, he finally got the update, but he did call verizon support, don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. they also told him to do a factory reset, about an hour later he got the update.
settings | about |software information
if you've gotten the update you will have 4.0.4 for android and 4.1 for htc sense
That is what it should say. My said the same thing prior to the update, it is normal. Go into software info in settings, it should still say - "Android 4.0.3, Sense 4.0"
That will let you know if you still have original purchased software version.

Looks like you beat me to this
OK so I did see that I'm still on 4.0.3 and sense 4.0. Is the check for software update behavior also normal? (no response and acting as if I didn't initiate a check)

Thanks for the info/link - applied this update manually yesterday and confirmed it was applied in Settings>About>Software Information.
I may now have a need to reapply this update (an app appears to have gotten corrupted somehow and uninstalling/reinstalling it didn't help). I figured it wouldn't be too painful (this update did wipe out all user data/settings) to just start over since I had only applied the update a few hours prior. However, I can no longer get to the boot loader pressing volume down/power. Does anyone know if something in this update prevents getting back to the boot loader? Is it possibly because it knows that update has already been applied?
BTW, the app in question is Skype. I was successfully doing a video call when someone called my cell phone. It put the video call on hold when this happened. After finishing the cell call and trying to go back to the Skype video call, I could no longer get the video side to work. Tried reinitiating the call, but never got audio/video working at the same time. Tried rebooting, reinstalling Skype, no joy. Was going to try reflashing this ROM but now I can't get back to the boot loader.
Any insights greatly appreciated...

Yes, I did see that suggestion and tried it yesterday but it didn't help. To add to the mystery, I tried to get into the boot loader again this morning and for whatever reason, it let me in so I proceeded with the re-flash. Haven't had a chance to try Skype again yet though.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi everyone, I just noticed today that my Album app doesn't seem to want to update to the latest version? Mine is stuck on 5.4.A.0.24 even though I know that the latest version is 6.0.A.0.26. I can't seem to update it through the update center, even though it still shows updates for Walkman and Movies. Is it just not working for me at the moment, or is it a problem with the servers?
Thanks!
I got the update in my first time, but when I had a factory reset, I never got it anymore.
Head here to get it manually :

Oddly enough you're describing the exact same problem I'm having: the app doesn't update after a factory reset. Any ideas as to why this happens? The odd thing is that the walkman and movie apps update normally
I don't know why, after I read this, I thought I got the update and when I checked it I saw I didn't and just install them manually...
Hi all
Since a few days I get a error " System UI stopped "
Searching on Google only gave me that most common error but not this one. It prompt 1 time a day / 2 days and I don't know how to solve it. It tried clearing the system case but this didn't work.
The error mostly appears when waking up my phone and never when working on it.
I don't use custom lockscreen or launchers and running DarkLord N5 rom since months now but this happens since the last week or so.
I attached a screen of the notification.
Hopefully someone knows the solution

Yes. It's troubleshooting/android 101. It's called a logcat. You might want to spend a few days doing research.
Hey guys.
Reaching out to see if any has been able to use the Firmware Finder app to update the firmware? Currently I'm on 108 however can download 122 via the app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teammt.gmanrainy.huaweifirmwarefinder
Now is does say its incompatible at first however you can indeed download either the latest OTA or full firmware, but seemingly can't get the device to acknowledge it. Things I've tried:
- Using the VPN and DNS options in firmware finder, then checking for system updates
- Putting the downloaded OTA zip in a created folder on internal storage called DLOAD, rebooting to recovery, but nothing happens.
- Tried extracting all the contents of the zip into that folder, again recovery doesn't acknowledge it.
It'd be great if we could perform manual updates like this, though annoying if the best we could do is merely download it!
Anyone any suggestions?
Let's see if we can get this working...
*update - seems I was entering recovery (power off and then power on holding power button + volume up) where I should have gone to download mode (hold both volume up and down). It gets to a screen but says Installation Failed. That's with the zip directly in the DLOAD folder and then sigh the contents extracted....
I used to use this app on my Honor 9 Lite, however it hasn't worked for a long time.
The method they used was to spoof the Huawei servers using DNS etc to trigger an OTA but Huawei changed the server location.
This app purely exists now to tell you there is an update available to download, however you'll need to use other methods to get it installed, which probably requires an unlocked bootloader at the very least, then a firmware flash tool.

Is there a way to establish that new location, to then use the correct proxy/DNS details?

Apparently not, or at least the developer of that App doesn't seem to think so.
I am also looking to update to the latest firmware too, it has been pushed out to some devices, but nothing for me yet. Although I did get a 3 branded update, I'm hoping that hasn't messed up my OTA's from Huawei

See I was on Three but moving over to O2. When I first set the phone up, I used the O2 sim but then put my Three sim in and will use until my number gets transferred over. Ive no Three branding yet

That's similar to what I did, put my old Tesco(O2) sim in slot 1 - No branding. The next day I also put my 3 sim into slot 2, after a few minutes an OTA pops up.
Checked on here a a few people said it's safe to install, it just activates Wi-Fi calling & the 3 apps.
After reboot it had also installed a 3 splash screen & changed my chrome homepage to the 3 website.
Minor annoyances yes, apparently fixed by a Factory reset. I just hope the change in software version doesn't delay future updates. Hopefully this 122 update pushes out soon.

Cool yeah well I'm on Three network but yet to be branded, but still haven't received an update so likely the branding isn't a cause, perhaps...
I turned this feature on, but I cannot find where to switch it back off again. I think there's a serious glitch. There used to be a button on the quick add but that's gone. Anyone mind trying from their device?

? What is "assistive ball"
No such setting
Under convenience tools. Do you not have it? It must be on C10 and not available on C11. I suspect I enabled it and the latest update rolled it back perhaps. I was forced to do a system settings reset on my device to kill it.
I have the latest ColorOS 6 package, if I attempted to run it in recovery would I end up bricked? We're talking Android 10 - 9. I have a feeling things aren't meant to work like that.

No such thing in my phone. Sorry.
AFAIK you won't be able to go back to back to 9. Oppo have locked the bootloader to prevent regressive updates. Recovery will just fail. You won't brick anything though.
You could try recovery update via WiFi? Doubt it will work, as it links to the last thing on your country's website which is likely to be an outdated COS6. With a shot just in case.
Let me know
