Pie update causes battery to be stuck at 50% - Xiaomi Redmi 5 Questions & Answers

Every time I upgrade to Pie, NO MATTER WHAT ROM I USE, I always get the stuck battery percentage at 50% and it really cheeses me off. I always have to go back to Oreo or Nougat. Can anyone tell me if it's a Pie bug or something totally mysterious? Is there a real fix for this?
Thanks

[Q] Battery on lollipop 5.0.2

just curious if anyone else has this issue. ive been on lollipop 5.0.2 for awhile most recently on eXistenZ and i have had this really annoying issue with all the lollipop builds out there where the battery charges to 82% to 92% give or take and then the screen turns on and the battery charging icon flickers on and off which then keeps the screen on so wont charge to 100%.
i quickly tried (30 mins) PureX 5.1.1 rom and i might have the same issue because it flickers on the charge icon a few times then carried on as normal couldn't really test it as i need a working phone for the rest of the day.
I rolled it back to kitkat today and the issue is gone. i thought it was a fault with the battery but i changed that out for a brand new one also im using the original charger and cable so its not that.
if anyone has had this issue let me know please

If ur problem solved with kitkat means it should be with Lolipop then. But the bug u mentioned is not in my rom. I am always charging from 0% to 100% without any problems..
So did u flashed any stock lolipop ftf? Try it and see...
Its definitely a lollipop issue was reading in to it and a few other people have the issue with it most on Sony phones one post mentioned it something to do with battery saving stopping it charging past 95% but cant find anything else about it. Ill still keep looking as its bugging the hell out of me
But I will most likely stick with kitkat never had any issues with it and my battery life is bearly twice as long

Odd battery issue

I noticed something strange that is happening in the last few days: as you can see from the attached graph battery dropped almost instantly from 20% to 5%.
I had some suspects it wasn't normal so I pulled it out and reinserted and bam: back to 20% and discharging regularly.
What can possibly be the culprit?
Is there something I could do to avoid this issue?
I'd appreciate to hear from you guys.
by the way I'm on a H840.
Also, this happens
I have battery problems too. I'm with v20s stock rom. Before flashing nougat battery lasted about a day. Now only lasts half a day. Maybe i should downgrade to marshmallow... Can anyone help with 20s battery consumption? Is it the same to other users? My model is H850. Thank you in advance.
I have the same issue with battery but it's a new genuine lg battery.I was thinking of downgrading to marshmallow but that might not resolve the issue.I could go custom but I can't go without fast charge
same problem bro i think that's in battery performance

Seems quick charge on LOS has been solved with Typhon Kernel. Same with camera focus.

Upgrade via OTA to OREO terrible draining battery!!!

Hy everyoneI've upgraded to Oreo since just two days via OTA my Sony X (F5121), it turns on quickly compared to Nougat, but I encounter a serious problem of draining battery , I have already checked all the apps with background activities and optimized start of the various apps, but nothing changes, still remains the problem!
Some advice? To give you an idea after just two hours from power on, it drops by 40% !!! while with Nougat it lasted me two days on, and with my soft use sometimes even three days before charging...
Thanks in advance
1. Ota on sony usually ends up haivng upgrade with huge batter drain (personal xperience)
2. Oreo on x is not optimized, used for 2-3 days and now am i back to 7.1.1
today new update 34.4.a.2.19 release ,
flash it clean! Wipe everything after taking backup
Today everything seems to be back to normal, percentage of the battery is now at 82% from early this morning that I turned it on.
The update you said I do not have it yet, it will come. I currently have version 34.4.A.0.364
I hope that everything has been fixed, this weekend was an absurd thing, they had already happened with the previous Nexus 5 periods of a few days of anomalous draining, perhaps due to some service below that drained, but so visibly absurd.
Thank you
This is odd. My battery life was, just like yours, horrific but it got a bit better later. I'll try the updated now.
This morning 109MB software update that brought the version to 34.4.A.2.19 with security patch 01 February 2018
Draining battery has returned punctually unfortunately, now battery level is 40%.......in the evening I don't arrive with this trend, I'll have to recharge in the afternoon.
Yesterday instead everything seemed come back to normal, arrived in the evening at home with 70% of charge.
Let's see when it will return to normal ...
Let it settle 1-3 days and report back.
The situation seems come back normal finally, since yesterday, I am currently at 50% charge (yesterday morning was at 100% just loaded).
I notice that the notification LED is slower in flashing, with Nougat instead it was regular, in addition to the app gmail that always syncs and appears in the upper left icon, even this I had not noticed before with Nougat.
Volte
Since the Oreo update I have to charge the battery more than one time a day. I start in the morning with a full charged battery and very often, I have to charge again already in the afternoon. I am using my phone a lot, but I did that already with Nougat. With the Nougat version, I had always still about 20% at the late evening. Based on the service menu the battery is not damaged and based on the App AccuBattery: 95% healthy.
The installed version is 34.4.A.2.50
I am not sure, if I should go back to Nougat (without having the security updates) or if I should try a custom rom.
As it is now, it is very frustrating.......
Horrible battery oreo rom i have charge 2 time

Last Thursday I did a factory reset. I was hoping this would change something. Unfortunately not. Still just one day with a full charged battery. So I think I will go back to Nougat. I wonder if this is a common issue with the device running Oreo or if only a few devices affected by that.
Now I'm back on the latest Nougat stock rom.
Battery life time is back to normal, about two days.
For me it is unbelievable that Sony is offering an update which has such an impact to the battery.

Battery stats going crazy

Recently my battery (mido Snapdragon) started acting up so i decided to change to a custom rom my first choice being dotOS but that somehow triggered something in battery my guess coz after that the battery life has gone to hell and i switched 3 roms since and the current rrOS by endless was holding fine but still would like to know whats holding the battery up here are screenshots from better battery life
If someone could help it would be really appreciated

battery issue

affter i updated mine s9+ to pie android mine battery life is reduced by half, anyone have this or it is just me. is there some fix for this
I mean, not half the battery life, but I did notice a drop in life from Oreo and even the pie beta (the pie beta had very good battery life btw).
I'm just still gonna use cause maybe they messed something up, cause I already enjoy the no navbar gestures. They'll fix it next patch maybe.
If you truly are getting half the life, might wanna factory reset, just back everything up in smartswitch. It's pretty seamless
ok ill try that when i get time , but it is boring to back up data
