Hi,
In previous Android versions I was able to give a specific app. priority to sound/vibrate (even with a specific sound) when Do Not Disturb was on.
Now on Android 10 I can't find where to do that. Does anyone knows how to do it now?
I mainly use it for my surveillance camera app. to wake me up or alert me when sleeping/meetings
Thanks

Hi guys,
In desperately looking for an app or mod that does what's in the subject.
I'd like to have my s3 screen on when i remove it from my pocket but ONLY if notifications are present.
This is a feature that some custom ROMs have (e.g. C-rom) but i wonder if i can get the same behaviour on my stock rooted s3.
I know that apps like "gravity screen" do something similar but in don't think they can turn on only inc ase of pending notifications.
Thank you for any advice.

Hi Guys,
As I've replaced my Oneplus One to a Oneplus 2 and lost the ambient display option again, I'd like to see your opinion. How is it possible that in 2015 I can't tell my phone with the latest stock version of Android to simply turn the screen on for a short while when a notification comes.
I know I can (and actually I do) install 3rd party applications to do that but why isn't it in the stock version? What's Google's point of view about that? AFAIK the iPhones have always had this feature.
Thank you!
I have a mate 10 pro rebranded to C721 (Porsche Design). I use the stock email app though I changed to notification sound to one that I use across several different phones. With some frequency, the notification tones on the stock email app will revert back to the Huawei default notification tone (in my case Porsche Design Electric). It seems like it may be related to when my phone makes a Bluetooth connection but I can't be sure and it doesn't seem to be consistent.
Has anybody else had the same problem? If so, do you know how to fix it so the stock email app retains your custom notification sound choice?
I am not rooted (as I use google pay)
Hi.
I have had a Mate 10 Pro (stock ROM, latest update) since the beginning of December and I gradually hate it more and more.
Yes, it is fast, has great screen and battery life etc.
But the software...
My problems are:
- running-in-background-applications watching for notifications (Mi Fit, LightFlow, Pushbullet etc.) are put to sleep (?) when screen is off regardless of the settings in 'Battery' menu. Yes, I have them all on 'manual' control and still they sleep a LOT. That's really annoying.
- AOD (Always-On Display) is a joke. Nothing but sms/call notifications. That's pretty useless. And no 3rd party app can solve it.
- LightFlow has another problem, too: is unable to control the LED at all.
Would (any of) these problems be solved with different ROM? I used to be CyanogenMod user back on Nexus 5, but I don't know the current state of this project.
Yeah, same here.
I have a BLA-L09 and i have the same issue with notifications.
Only calls and sms are in "real time" all other notifications are almost always delayed, or doesn't work at all.
I'm on BLA-L09 8.0.0.137 (C432), i'm hopping next build solve those issues....
Hi,
I am asking for some advice on the following issue.
I was always using the app Mobile hidden camera on several devices few Samsungs and on the Huawei p10. It always worked great. Recording video with locked phone worked fine. Then came the new update from Android/EMUI 8 to 9. And it stopped working or it works for one minute.
Video is recorded for exactly one minute and then freezes, but the sound is recorded for the whole time of the video.
I have read many threads on the aggressive app closing of the newer Emui versions but I think this isn't the fault, because the app is still running in the background with just sound recording. Could it also have to do something with new privacy policy in adroid 9. Have read somewhere that video and sound recording would not be possible any more. I have also tested all of the power saving settings (running in background, shut power optimization off, etc.). Tried also uninstalling the Powergeenie as suggested in an onother thread.
Do someone have any similar experience?
Nice greetings!!
Forgot to add that when the app is running on top it works normal. The problem is only when the app is minimized or the screen is locked.
Maybe somebody has some other app suggestion for background video recording?
Solution
The Solution to the problem were notifications of the app. If the app doesn't give any notifications (shown in the status bar or the locked screen) the system puts it to sleep and it cant run in the background. If there are enabled notifications in the app, their appearance still can be disabled in the notifications options in the android settings.
