my phone does not charge when turned off - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

the phone when switched on works and charges regularly but now when I insert the cable the phone vibrates then the oneplus and Android logos appear then the screen turns black and starts again with the vibration and so on . I bought the phone shortly after the exit and at the beginning it recharged regularly from off. I tried to change the cable and the power supply, I did the hard reset and tried to reinstall the current version of the OS but the problem persists. I ask myself is a bug of the software or a hardware defect, does anyone know how to solve the problem or do I have to resign myself and send it to assistance

Did you try to do a local upgrade to the same OOS version? Maybe that will help.

If you're in lastest stable 10.0.8 try to flash open beta and see if problem persist

I can try, but can you tell me if I lose my personal data by switching to the Open Beta? Then can you tell me how stable Open beta is?

You loose your internal data if you switch between stable and beta releases.

[HELP] Phone reboot every 5-10 seconds (Kenzo)

I encountered this problem about 2 weeks ago
I have flash every ROM (Official, MIUI based custom ROM, and AOSP) including in fastboot mode
and only CM12.1, CM13 and RR survived from random reboot
I won't use both CM13 and RR because its RIL
Now i used CM12, but I have super fast draining battery
My phone will die, even in standby, because Android OS and System used battery more than SOT
When I checked it, the CPU always stay awake and won't enter deep sleep, so my phone always went heating even in standby (screen turned off)
The only problem I would fix is the random reboot issue when I used MIUI and other Custom ROM I had mention above
This is driving me crazy. Does it hardware problem or something?
If not, how to fix fast draining battery from CM12.1?
Sorry for my bad english

Hi, i'm having the same issue as yours, have you try to send for repair? Xiaomi centre at my place refuse to repair it as mine from china set, any luck at your place?
Edit- mine was unlocked officially, don't think it related to this issue as it was working without any problem previously, the last thing i did before this happened was making a call in lte before it turned off suddenly, then heat up a lot and keep on rebooting,

I'm on aosp when this happened, maybe it is hardware related,
Will try to send it to repair shop nearby and hope they can do something about it, it's only a month and now it's completely unusable, maybe just a bad lemon unit
Same problem here...I bought this phone from China and it worked fine for 10 days...Suddenly it begun to rebooting every 20-30 seconds, i can't do anything in the phone...
I managed to flash it with other roms and the problem remains...

Should be hardware problem and there's nothing we could do i guess, there's a few people affected already.. problem with this model and we're the first.. so sad. Luckily my nexus 5 still going strong despite the screen shattered, even can see the circuit inside, showed the difference between brands quality.
Did someone with this problem can Instal CM13 ROM with fingerprint compatible?
because mine always stuck in Mi Logo and then can't enter TWRP until it re-unlocked and back to MIUI with Mi flash to able flash TWRP)
If not flash fastboot MIUI, the TWRP can't be installed even the phone have unlocked
WTH is going on with my phone

Thanks Ivanlai,
What Exactly do you mean by your answer?
did you had this Problem on your Xiaomi Device?
had you manage succesfuly solving it?
my device is new and i dont want to do something that will harm the Warrenty.
I haven't had this situation exactly, but the reason I said to tick flash all is because I have bricked and bootlooped my device before.
By ticking the flash all option, it reduces the risk of some remnants of the previous ROM causing conflict.
Also, I tried several different global stable ROMs before I successfully unbricked my device.
As for warranty, I remember someone mentioning that a xiaomi customer service operator emailed them saying that rooting and flashing custom ROM would not void the warranty, but I would email them again on this issue just to make sure.

Thanks Ivanlai,
very strange what happening to my device.
reboots stopped (have no idea of what reason : recharge again from 5% battery, get into test mode (push 3 button for 10 sec': vol+, vol-, power).
but now other issue showed up : very lots of screen glitches, can use the phone like this, like some bad soldering inside.
first time i got into test mode, there were also screen glitches,
but now, whenever i get into test mode, downloading mode or the 3rd mode (with phone and cable picture), there is not glitchs at all,.
but after phone is starting - lots of screen glitches !!
i am lost
I also bought my Redmi 4 Prime from goldway store, do you know what is their return policy like?

Problem when connecting to battery charger (23s)

Hello.
After updating to 23s, I'm having a annoying problem when connecting the phone (X820) to battery charger.
If I connect it in standby, display lights up to notify that charger has been connected, but after that it doesn't turn off automatically after some seconds, how it should normally do.
The display remains on forever, unless I click the power button.
Anyone has the same problem?
There should be a setting somewhere to let you change the screen on while charging. Try setting -> lock screen or battery. I am not on stock rom cannot help you more.
It's under development settings, remain on when charging or do not turn off display when charging.
For some unknown reason was enabled by the update i guess
Thanks to all for answers.
I'm sorry, but it isn't the problem, that setting was already disabled, I've tried in any case to enable/disable it, but the problem is still present.

Unfortunately I don't have another USB-C cable to try it, with the original cable display remains "On" after plugging in the charger, but how the cable can affect that behavior?
Problem still present.
Can I see some log for trying to understand what is the problem?
Nobody can help me? Nobody has this problem?
Tried full wipe and reflash stock ROM many times, tried 26s, tried other EUI based ROMs, tried hard reset via QFIL, tried changing the charger cable, but nothing, the problem persists...
It doesn't happens in LineageOS or other LineageOS based ROMs, so it is surely a software issue, but I can't understand what is the damn problem...
Did you tried indain 19s firmware?

Weird Behaviour with Poco F1

I'm running miui 10.2.3.0 non-root LB. Following has been happening even after multiple times even after clean stock ROM installation:
-My apps keeps crashing , closing for no reason at all.
-I'm using my phone & suddenly the screen goes black for a few seconds, network goes away then comes back to normal. This happens 2-3 times a day.
- I'm unable to update to the latest miui with OTA, after I install the OTA, it says OTA update failed installation. I tried multiple times then I have to reinstall stock ROM.
Can someone help me out to figure to the issue?
UPDATE: My motherboard was the issue. It has been replaced now & now the phone is working great!

I clearly wrote in the first line that I have installed the stock ROM multiple times. The main behaviour happening everytime is the black screen issue. Hard reset might fix the app crashing.

Try factory resetting , if that doesnt help install stock rom again. If nothing works go to service center.

Super Weird WiFi Problem

Currently running the latest Pixel Experience ROM and it's solid overall.
But, I have experienced a super weird bug or glitch concerning the wifi and how it connects.
On the stock MIUI setup WiFi was solid and stable, didn't even have to give it a second thought. However, after rooting and ROMs the WiFi capabilities are seriously weird.
On both LineageOS and PixelExperience, whenever I try to to connect to my WiFi network, the phone takes down the whole network. And I mean the whole thing. It just tanks the network into restarting and I have no idea why. It should not happen, but it does.
And to actually connect the WiFi, I need to turn it on and off at least 3 times to get it to connect. But once it does connect it stays connected. It's pretty annoying when I go out and come home and the phone has to jump through these hoops just to get WiFi working properly.
I don't think that it has to do with the Pixel Experience ROM because I've updated it twice now and the problem still persists, so I'm just left thinking that maybe it has something to do with the vendor firmware that I used at the time when I was getting things set up.
Any thoughts? Would be a huge help!

But quick questions, when flashing the new vendor firmware do I have to wipe anything? Or can I just download it and flash? And will flashing the new vendor firmware wipe my phone?

Just download and flash..no need to wipe anything. It will not delete your data too..
Edit: if your data not encrypted, you'll need to flash dfe (disable force encryption) as flashing vendor will encrypt your data.

This is exactly the problem I had, I posted in the xiaomi.eu thread but no one else seems to have this issue and the developer did not take notice. I wonder why only the two of us have this issue, maybe it has to do with the hardware, where did you buy the phone from?

I tried all that, does not work. I have clean flashed , reflashed and everything.
This problem is present in All the version and releases of the rom, so I decided to go back to stock and I will try when 12.5.0 is released or if the developer states this bug is fixed.
Once you face this kind of problem, just reboot the device; this is the only solution as of now.
So I recommend to try the Global version.
However, the installation exclusively with MiFlash (always if there are difficulties).
"mojito_global_images_V12.0.7.0.RKGMIXM_20210416.0000.00_11.0_global_f13a7ddea1.tgz"It can be a problem in the list of operators. Global version has a different list than the EU.
try version 12.0.9.0 of xiaomi.eu ROM, it didn't have such a problem
