Help Needed with Samsung J7 Flashing - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all
i am having troubles with a Samsung orginally it came up with the black screen of death the phone has some form of life as it is charging and laptop knows its there but no sounds and nothing on screen so Flashing is my goal at the moment
details of the mobile phone in question
Samsung Galaxy SM-J700F/DS
originally from Smart communications Philippines
am also flying blind when getting it into download mode as nothing appears on screen but based on research nd a few youtube videos it appears the unti does go into download mode as Odin and sam tools pro sees it
had downloaded a firmware and tried using it via Odin but kept failing at the last part and also samsung tools also failed at cm.BIN
i am not 100% sure if the firmware i got was the correct one as seems there is many but the one i got its file name was matched from sammobile i believe
could someone hook me up with a solution a way to get this phone going again and quite possibly point me to a direct link for the firmware based on the details i provided
would really appreaciate the help many thanks

Use SamFirm tool here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647/ (it still works even though the post says it is deprecated) to download the latest stock firmware directly form Samsung servers. Another one which does the same thing as SamFirm is Fijra https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/how-to/tool-frija-samsung-firmware-downloader-t3910594.
Enter SM-J700F as the Model and SMA as the Region/CDC and click check updates then click download.

[Q] I think I bricked my samsung galaxy s2 =-(

I really need some help here if anyone could take some tile to do so...
I just got the samsung galaxy s2 and I tried to flash the firmware on the phone and I believe I flashed the wrong one and now I have no services on my phone at all. I flashed a rom and have no connect 3g/4g/wifi. I am not able to connect the phone to odhin to reflash the firmware either. I can get into download (Odhin mode) and I can also get into recovery. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
i dont get it, you say you cant connect your phone to odin, but you can get into downlaod mode.
put your phone in download mode, then connect your phone to PC and then reflash the correct firmware for your phone with ODIN

It doesn't connect at all when I am in download (odin mode) like it won't show me with the yellow connection in odin tells me that I have a custom binary and that I have downloaded 1 binary. The only time I can connect with odin is when the phone is in the booted up but I can not do anything with it at all no connection. Also Clockwork is all messed up as well whenever I click on a task it goes blank and I just hit the power button again and it goes back to the main screen =-(
I have been reading up online and I guess what I need is a US version of sprints firmware but now I need to figure out how to install it once I get my hands on it
I found the firmware!!
D710USEG30 is the firmware for Sprint USA galaxy s2 I am going to attempt to use Heimdall Frontend to install it (crossing my fingers) hehe
Ok update, I guess I installed something on my laptop to keep me from being able to use odin. I did it on my desktop just fine and I am back up and running. I thank both of you for your time it was very helpful and much appreciated =-)
I hope you both have a very Merry Christmas =-D

[Q] Flash Celular i5500 going forever

Hello, I am trying 2 months to flash my cell i5500 I have used a lot of firmwares, there is no way, I use odin multi downloader, it recognizes the cellphone but after I start it spend hours and doesn't complete the job. Here is a video that I recorded about it:
youtube.com/watch?v=5K-pcTBS80s&feature=youtu.be&hd=1
If someone knows how to do it I will really appreciate, I don't have experience in it, and only did because it was with a lot of software problems.

You're using Odin 4.03, but you're supposed to use version 4.27. Older versions don't support your device, and newer versions have a different kind of incompatibility.

"Older versions don't support your device, and newer versions have a different kind of incompatibility." The way you say, there is no solution for it, isn't it?

First, stay with Odin 4.28 (I wrote 4.27 by accident). It appears to be working correctly, as the title changed to "Odin Multi Downloader (GT-I5500), meaning that the .ops file is also correct.
Are you sure that you're in the correct download mode? The "Emergency DLoad mode" will also show the yellow indicator in Odin, but it's not really compatible, and will hang on flashing just as in your video. You must be in the regular download mode only (volume down + center button + power), showing the yellow triangle. If you've tried to flash previously and it failed, the phone will be in an invalid mode, so you need to remove the battery, re-insert and re-enter download mode. Verify that the drivers are working correctly too.
I can see some Portuguese words in your file path - maybe Odin is getting confused by that. Try to move both the ROM and OPS to a folder at the root of the drive with no Latin accents anywhere in the folder name/path.

[Q] SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 GT-I9300 lost PIT partitions

hey all i seem to be in need of some help
i have purchased a white samsung galaxy s3 GT I9300
it was ment to be just a simple re-install of the operating system but it would seem there is something more
going on here from what odin is telling me that some how not sure why or how but the samsung phone has lost all partitions(PIT)
it freezes on start up at the screen that shows samsung galaxy s3 GT - I9300 so i went to odin to flash with official os for the phone
but then odin fails with cannot find PIT files my device is a 16gb device
also in download mode the spec list of the device shows product name as blank, and binary samsung offical but the next line states custom
but most disturbing is that device name is blank i know it shouldnt be
also the charge port seems to be half broken it will connect to computer in download mode but will not charge the battery through cable
so my question is im guessing i should get the charge port replaced
and then how do i go about fixing my s3
any and all help appreciated here
Sounds like you might have a damaged phone.
If your sure its a pit problem flash this emergency firmware.
This is a last resort type firmware.

Oh I missed that bit. If the port gets fixed try a standard stock rom first. The one I gave you is for emergency's only.

Thats in very rare cases. 90% of the time flashing a standard stock rom will solve issues.

[Q] i527 hard brick

I've managed to hard brick my i527. When powered on, im brought to a screen that says:
Image size too large!! W:1080 H:1920
display image fail
SECURE FAIL: KERNEL
I can get into download mode and that's it. Yes, this was the result of a horrible decision on my part trying to fix the mistake I made of flashing twrp because I didn't do enough research ahead of time to see that there are no custom recoveries. It had the latest update which I cannot find an Odin for. Am I screwed or is there any way to unbrick? Is there an Odin for a similar model like the i9200 or something that will flash to this? The sim card slot was trashed and didn't work so it was wifi only so if I could get a firmware from another device that would work with at least wifi, that'd be enough. And btw, trying to go to recovery gives the same error. Just an FYI, my internet is horribly slow, or I would just download random firmwares from similar models and try to odin them myself because I have nothing to lose but yea, I'm looking at around 6 hours for each Odin firmware download. Oh yea, forgot to mention also, I've tried Kids but it won't work. But I think it fails because it's trying to flash a firmware before the one that was on it I'm pretty sure.
Hi diesburg,
I was in similar situation with my SGH-I527M, the same error message and I fixed.
I guess 'I've tried Kids but it won't work.' would be KIES.
KIES can definitely fix your mega. Install it from samsung website. There is KIES, KIES Lite, KIES 3.
I used KIES for my mega. KIES will install a stock samsung rom on your phone and the carrier spec modem will be OK too.
- Put your mega in download mode and connect to PC. Start KIES on your PC.
- in KIES klick on firmware update. See if KIES auto connect to your mega. Most probably not.
- You'll have to provide the model number and the S/N number manually.
- The model number has to be properly given like: 'SGH-I527M'. Make sure you type accurate - upcase/lowcase etc.. NO 'i527'.
- You can find S/N under the battery on a sticker.
- Than KIES start download the necessary things to your PC first. It could take about 30-40 min.
- AFTER download finished you will see your download bar moving on your mega screen.
- If it stops during download, try again from the beginning. I had to do it 3 times to get through the whole process. Do not give up if it stops during download, repeat.
... and pls stop flashing random firmwares.
FYI: you can have proper recovery for the mega. There is excellent philzTouch and also TWRP available /see CM13/ TEMASEK / BLISS / XENON for mega 6.3 under MOST ACTIVE TOPICS (Silesh.Nair)
Good luck.

Hi drew,
Sorry for late answer...
I don't know for sure, but after a quick Google search I'd say 95% YES, KIES wipes all.
1. If you can access custom recovery, just mount up the drive of your data and save to PC.
2. Did you try dirty flash stock rom?
Hope it helps.
