Hi.
I'm having trouble with my device. After buying it, months later, I've subscribed to a stream app and it doesn't seem to function since the serial that my m8s+ says is "Unknown".
I've tried some apps I've found in order to change it, modified build.prop though it keeps saying unknow after showing me the message that it has been changed..
Is there a way for me to change the serial number? I don't really care to what it is changed.. as long as it doesn't say unknow..
Anyone help? I've been at this for weeks and can't open my app because of it..

Hi there, so yesterday I rooted my previously straight out of the box T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 using the xwkdd_insecure.tar (with odin and superoneclick - I am a complete noob by the way, but this seemed to work after I followed a YouTube video), so that I could then unlock it to use 3 Mobile (in the UK) which I am on - I had bought this phone brand new and sealed from eBay (someone's unwanted upgrade). I then went on to using the free ChainFire sim unlock app, and seems as though now my 3 simcard can be used fine. Then I went on to flash it by th using this file first - I9100XWKE7_StockKernel.tar - after seeing another YouTube video to purely debrand it but this only got rid of the yellow ! logo which appeared after rooting it, that is all.
So I then went on to using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064894
in order to debrand it of all T-Mobile stuff, sjuch as the T-Mobile logo and trademark tune which came on after switching the phone on, and get it like a standard sim free/factory unlocked phone if you know what I mean. I used this file as mentioned in the link - I9100XWKDD_I9100XXKDH_I9100XEUKD1_HOME.TAR
The latter part of the guide goes on to entering #272*<IMEI># or something like that, but I have tried that all of the other alternatives and all I get is "USS code running" and like 2 seconds later the error message
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code" appears. I basically can't enter anything in my phone dial with # or whatever. What is wrong?
I have also noticed that whenever I call someone a message saying "Conditional call forwarding active" appears, but then proceeds to make the call okay. I have tried to disable and fiddle around with the call forwarding settings, but again, error messages come up when doing so.
What exactly is wrong and how can I fix it - I am a bit of a noob with all this....? It is surely something to do with all that stuff I have mentioned. Please help me as I honestly don't know how to go about fixing this. What is the most straightforward thing to do which will stop these messages?
Thanks in advance.
Any ideas guys please?
I think that in the code, where it says imei, you have to insert your imei number?
Not 100% sure though.

Hi mate, yeah I know that sorry I should have been clearer, I mean if I type in any code with # pretty much that message always comes up, like for finding my IMEI with #*06# though I can find it another way, and for speeddial etc
the combination is *#number code not only one of them or the other way round... (eg.: *#06# for imei)
Hi, my Xperia U can't make calls at all, it can find available mobile networks but can't connect.
I'm in the UK and the phone is on the Orange network.
I don't know if it's a software or hardware problem, I have tried flashing ICS, and earlier versions of GB but that hasn't fixed it.
With ICS I get this message "Phone not allowed mm#6"
Has anyone else had this problem, did you find a fix?
Thanks
Garry
You may want to check whether your IMEI buy typing in your call app: *#06#
Compare the IMEI with the one printed below your battery. If it differs you may have overwritten your IMEI with a one blocked by your operator.

IMEI numbers match
I've checked the IMEI numbers as you described and they match.
Does anyone have an idea on if this can be fixed?
Solved
Phoned Orange, they had blocked the phone due to debit card expiring and different card being used to top up.
Orange did not contact me in any way to inform me that the phone had been blocked.
I've been searching all day for a good solution for this but can't seem to find anything that works for the S2.
I've seen some people have an issue in Android where the phone number will show up as Unknown in the My phone number field in the About phone status screen. I have a similar issue, but different. My phone number shows up 11 zero's instead of unknown.
As my previous phone was an Iphone my sim won't fit to try write my number to the sim. Is it the same issue as the unknown? and has anyone found a fix while using an S2? I've already updated the ME contact with my number and still no luck.
There seem to be a few apps that use this number to display information about you including Kies which return this 00000000000 number.
It doesn't stop the phone from being used, but it is started to be an annoyance that I guess I could do with out.
Any help you could give would be great.
Thanks,

My phone number is also Unknown. Maybe i'm not reading it right, but what's your problem?
Sorry I must have left out the most important part. How do i get my phone to show my correct number?
Thanks

I got that, but since I've got the unknown number maybe you can do something extra when you got number displaying there. So my question was needed to be like: where do you need it for?
But sorry I don't known how to get it there.

I have been looking all over for something about this and can't find anything What I'm trying to do is take my disconnected Android device and change the physical phone number to my Google Voice number so it will pick up texts and what not. I need to do this because my phone will not install Google Voice...probably because it's rooted and my custom ROM is not compatible
My other problem is: I tried Whatsapp and they need a phone number to send you a text to confirm the phone...WELL when my phone got deactivated by my carrier (Cricket), they take your number away and change it to a number that's not even a real number with area code 555...which doesn't exist. Kind of in a jam here..
All I want to be able to do is send text messages through wifi without a phone data plan/activation. If there is an app out there that doesn't require a phone number to use and the receiver of my text messages do not need the same app to communicate, that would be great! Here's to wishful thinking lol.
Any help would be much appreciated Thanks
As the title says, anyone know how to identify what region or location my Xperia Z3 TC is from? E.g. A number in the serial number giving it away? A setting in the tablet? Anything?
Should be written on the boxe 'intented for France' or something like that.
yeah mine says it on the box, is the region important? mine just came in the mail and it says Farci on the box
